1.THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF ENRICHED“BABY CAKE”(Animal Experiment)
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 1956;0(02):-
Baby cake'' is a kind of baby food which has been traditionally used in certain parts of China. It consists half of rice powder and half of flour. The lysine is the first limiting amino acid of "baby cake'' and it is also deficient in calcium. In order to improve the nutritional value of "baby cake", we enriched it with 0.25% lysine and 0.122% calcium.72 Wistar derived rats were devided into 3 groups: group A was fed with "baby cake" enriched with 0.25% lysine, group B enriched with 0.25% lysine and 0.122% calcium and group C with original "baby cake" as control. The results revealed: body weight, weight and length and density of bones all were better in enriched groups and the best was in the group enriched with lysine and calcium. All were statistically significant.

3.Effects of negative capacity in the prevention of subcutaneous fluid accumulation after modified radical mas-tectomy
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2015;(7):1021-1022
Objective To investigate the effect of negative capacity on drainage time, subcutaneous fluid accumulation, etc.after modified radical mastectomy. Methods 80 breast cancer patients after modified radical mas-tectomy.Used computer to produce random number, then 80 patients were randomly divided into the two groups.A group were adopted negative capacity of 200mL and B group adopted 400mL.Both groups used disposable negative pressure drainage balls. Results A group patients′subcutaneous fluid accumulation incidence was 27.91%,skin flap necrosis incidence was 2.33%,indwelling time was (25.00 ±2.59)days.B group patients′subcutaneous fluid accumulation incidence was 8.11%,skin flap necrosis incidence was 0,indwelling time was (12.00 ±2.34)days. Drainage time and subcutaneous fluid accumulation incidence were reduced in B group in comparison with A group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion High negative capacity is recommended in postoperative drainage of modified radical mastectomy, with a minimum of the equivalence of maximum daily drainage volume. If not, drainage in early postoperative duration will not be sufficient enough to insure complete adherence of skin flap, and postponed extubation and subcutaneous fluid accumulation would be expected.

Objective To evaluate the effects of antiviral therapy in prevention of tumor recurrence after curative resection in patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) related hepatocarcinoma. Methods The data of 78 HBV related hepatocellular carcinoma patients having underwent hepatocarcinoma curative resection were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to the treatment method and the serum replication level of HBV DNA: 45 patients received antiviral therapy after hepatocarcinoma curative resection (treatment group), including 28 cases of preoperative HBV DNA high replication level (HBV DNA ≥ 107 copies/L), and 17 cases of preoperative HBV DNA low replication level (HBV DNA < 107 copies/L); 33 cases only received hepatocarcinoma curative resection (control group), including 20 cases of preoperative HBV DNA high replication level, and 13 cases of preoperative HBV DNA low replication level. The median follow-up time was 11 months, and the tumor recurrence was observed. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the tumor-free survival rate, and Cox regression model was used in multi-factor prognostic analysis. Results In the follow-up period, the tumor recurrence rates in treatment group were 84.4%(38/45), in control group were 93.9%(31/33), and there was no statistical difference (P>0.05). The tumor-free survival rates at 6, 12, 18 and 24 months after operation in patients with HBV high replication level of treatment group were 78.6%, 46.4%, 32.1%and 10.7%, and in patients with HBV low replication level of treatment group were 82.4%, 64.7%, 47.1%and 35.3%;these in patients with HBV high replication level of control group were 50.0%, 15.0%, 5.0%and 0, and in patients with HBV low replication level of control group were 92.3%, 46.2%, 30.8%and 15.4%. The tumor-free survival rates in patients with HBV high replication level of control group were significantly lower than those in patients with HBV low replication level of treatment group and patients with HBV low replication level of control group, and there were statistical differences (P<0.05). There were no statistical difference in the tumor-free survival rates between patients with HBV high replication level of treatment group and patients with HBV high replication level of control group, and between patients with HBV low replication level of treatment group and HBV low replication level of control group (P>0.05). Multivariate analysis result showed that preoperative serum HBV DNA ≥ 107 copies/L, lack of antiviral therapy after operation and tumor low differentiation were independent risk factors for tumor recurrence after operations (OR=1.987, 2.119 and 2.539;P<0.05 or<0.01). Conclusions The serum HBV high replication levels and lack of antiviral therapy after operation are independent factors in influencing tumor recurrence in HBV related hepatocarcinoma patients after operation. It might be better that patients with HBV high replication level should receive an antiviral therapy as early as possible after operation.

This infant cereal chiefly consisted of rice meal, fullfat milk powder, rice germ and dried yeast, and fortified with ferrous lactate and calcium carbonate. This mixture contained 14.1% protein, 8.6% fat, 64.3% carbohydrate, 750mg% calcium, 10mg% iron, 1.0mg% zinc and proper amount of various kinds of vitamins.1. Growth test; 84 weaning SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:(A) Infant cereal group;(B) Control I; (C) Control II; (A') Infant cereal group; (B') Control I; (D) Casein group. The latter three groups contained 10% protein which were designed for calculating PER. All these different preparations were fed to 6 groups for 4 weeks. The results showed that the body weight gain, the FE, CE and PER were not significantly different between group A and B but there were significant difference between group A and C. The Hb was increased from 11.76g% ( ) and 11.46g%() to 14.30g% and 14.46g% respectively in group A. The bones developed well and no decalcification occured.2.Nitrogen balance test:(A). Infant cereal group; (B) Control I. The results indicated that the TD, BV and NPU of group A were 98.08%, 85.73% and 84.09% and of group B were 97.81%, 87.51% and 85.59% respectively. Both groups obtained the results of positive nitrogen balance, no significant statistical difference. The contents of hepatic and body nitrogen of two groups were also not significantly different. These data demonstrate that this infant cereal is able to promote the growth of weanling rats, to retain positive body nitrogen and to prevent the occurrence of anemia and rickets.

China Oncology 2010;20(3):192-196
Background and purpose:Oxaliplatin is a new cytotoxic platinum compound widely used in antineoplastic treatments.Peripheral neuropathy characterized by allodynia remains the most common way to limit the usage of oxaliplatin.Oxaliplatin-associated neuropathic pain is often resistant to standard analgesics. The effects of antidepressant agents such as desipramine and fluoxetine on chemotherapy-induced neuropathic pain were investigated so as to provide experimental evidence for clinical treatment. Methods:A single injection of oxaliplatin(30 mg/kg)intraperitoneal was injected into a test subject,a mouse that had chronic neuropathic pain.Using the von Frey filament as a touch stimulator, the mechanical withdrawal threshold(MWT)was measured when observing allodynia. The MWT was measured before and 1 h after the administration of desipramin and fluoxetine. Results:Desipramine and fluoxetine both have the potential to increase the MWT in mice with oxaliplatin-induced neuropathic pain.Pretreatment with antagonists such as an opioid receptor like naloxone could deepen their effects.Furthermore, when desipramine is combined with an opioid analgesic as buprenorphine,it causes an augmentation in the MWT.Conclusion:Antidepressants desipramine and fluoxetine antagonize oxaliplatin-induced neuropathic pain by inhibiting allodynia.Furthermore, the tricyclic antidepressing agent desipramine could enhance the effects of buprenorphine in subjects with oxaliplatin-induced pain, suggesting a synergistic effect for opioid analgesic.
