Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 1992;0(06):-
Objective To evaluate the etiologies of children with gastrointestinal bleeding(GIB), and the relationship between the pathological findings and clinical. Methods Gastroscopy or proctoscope was performed in 153 children with GIB. Pathological studies and tests as for helicobactor pylori (Hp) were undertaken. Results Among 153 children,140 cases(91.5 %) had definite diagnosis, including 74 children with upper gastrointestinal bleeding(UGIB) and 66 cases with lower gastrointestinal bleeding(LGIB). Gastric pathologic study was conducted in 56 cases. All patients had chronic superficial gastritis(CSFG). Hp test was positive in 33 patients. There was significant difference in the positive rate of Hp test between patients with gastritis or duodenitis and those with ulcers (P

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
Two lab-scale expanded granular sludge bed reactors were operated using granular sludge and river sediments as seed sludge respectively, through gradually lowering down the inner pH values, acid-tolerant methanogenic granular sludge with good methanogenic activity were acquired and formed. Two EGSB reactors could be operated steadily under the condition of pH 5.8~6.2, and their volumetric loading rates were about 5.5~7.5 kg COD/(m3/d), the COD removal efficiencies were about 90%. The granular sludges taken from two reactors could maintain relatively higher methanogenic activity under low pH, and the relative activities of the granular could be 51.78% and 55.6% of the value with the condition of pH 7.0 when pH was 5.5. Studies on the diameter distribution, settling velocities, concentrations of different metal elements and microbiological characteristics of these acid-tolerant granular sludges were also conducted.

Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore 2009;38(9):817-820
The dual energy CT (DECT) technology has been recently employed in the form of two X-ray sources of different energies to enhance the contrast between adjacent structures. Its use in the cardiac arena has been widely highlighted due to the higher temporal resolution. However, it may also be used in the craniocervical and peripheral vasculature for better differentiation between contrast-enhanced vascular lumina and calcified plaques, in the characterisation of ureteric stones, and in the evaluation of hepatic lesions. The objective of this paper is to revisit DECT physics, review the literature and discuss its use in CT neuroangiography with case illustrations from our institution, and impact on dose savings.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2008;26(3):237-240
OBJECTIVETo investigate biological transport of minocycline by human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (HPDLF). To verify the hypothesis of delivering medicine to periodontium and the whole body through the root canal.
METHODSHPDLF and MC3T3-E1 cells were incubated in minocycline solutions. The intracellular antibiotics contents were measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and the cell total protein was measured by Bradford protein assay.
RESULTSHPLC was an accurate, sensitive method for measurement of the intracellular minocycline. The incubation time and cell property had significant effect on the intracellular minocycline contents (P< 0.01). The intracellular contents increased with extracellular concentration.
CONCLUSIONMinocycline can be transported by HPDLF. The transport is concentration-dependent, time-dependent and cell specific.

Objective To explore the effect of negative pressure attraction method of brushing and washing apply in oral care of patients with orotracheal intubation. Methods Totals of 82 oral intubation patients in ICU were randomly selected and divided into experience group ( n =42 ) and control group ( n =40 ).The traditional method of oral care was used in control group, while the negative pressure attraction method of brushing and washing was used in experience group, then, the incidence of oral infections,ventilator-associated pneumonia( VAP),dental plaque and oral mucosal injury were observed in two groups. Results The incidence of oral infections,ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP),dental plaque in experience group respectively were 7.14%,2.38%,4.76%,and that in control group were 22.50%,15.00%,32.50%,the differences were statistically significant ( x2 =3.88,4.18,10.55,respectively; P < 0.05 ),while there was no significant difference in the incidence of oral mucosal injury between two groups ( P > 0.05 ).Conclusions The negative pressure attraction method of brushing and washing can effectively keep the oral clean of patients with orotracheal intubation, reduce the incidence of oral infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia and dental plaque, when compared with the traditional method of oral care.

Objective To investigate biological transport of tetracycline hydrochloride by human periodontal ligament fibmblasts(HPDLF) for verifying the hypothesis of delivering medicine to the periodonfium and whole bodv through the root canal. Methods HPDLF and MC3,13-E1 cells were ineubated in antibiotics solutions. The intracellulaF antibiotics contents were measured by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and the cell total protein was measured by bradford protein assay. Results The intracellular contents increased with ineubation time. The extracellular medicine concentration had effect on the intracellular contents. Conclusions Tetracycline hydrochloride can be transported into HPDLF with incubation and this transport is time-dependent and concentration-dependent.

Objective To explore the level of patient safety culture of nurses, so as to provide more objective information for the developmental measures to improve patient safety culture. Methods 1 866 nurses from six grade-3 hospitals of a province were investigated by patient safety culture assessment scale. Results The total scores of patient safety culture of nurses was 3.57 ± 0.42, belongs to the middle-level. 5 factors in descending order according to the questionnaire scores was teamwork climate, safety climate, job Satisfaction, perception of management and stress recognition. The lower scores were the punishment of adverse events, job stress, work intensity, the staffing and so on. Conclusions It is very important that nurse managers should focus on improving a safer system in nursing, find out the potential risks, create a positive patient safety culture, and reduce or prevent adverse events of nursing in order to promote patient safety.
