The research of interleukin-13 receptor ?2(IL-13R?2) chain is a rising pop these years.Previous studies have shown that many human tumors overexpress IL-13R?2 chain, while normal cells do not express this receptor or express very low level. This difference of express level is significant to diagnose and cure tumors by the IL-13R?2-directed toxin fusion protein.During the past decade, the structure and the function of IL-13R?2 together with the relationship between this receptor and tumors has been further developed. Therefore new therapies and theories can be proposed as the clinical tumor treatments. In this case, the expression in various tumor cell lines was not only focused on but also on the IL-13 and toxin fusion protein killing effect in both the cell level and the in vivo level.Besides,an overview of the mechanism in the treatment of IL-13R?2-directed toxin fusion protein together with the improved methods for fusion protein purification and other relative tumor therapy was given. In conclusion, the current status and progress of IL-13R?2 as well as IL-13R?2-directed toxin fusion protein in tumor therapy were represented.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2010;30(1):18-21
OBJECTIVETo explore the relationship between the genesis of Pi-Wei damp-heat syndrome (PDS) and the Helicobacter pylori (HP) infection in patients with chronic gastritis (CG) by observing the levels of nuclear factor kappaB (NF-kappaB) mRNA and heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) expressions.
METHODSGastric mucous membrane tissues collected through gastroscopy from gastric antrum of 51 CG patients, 36 of PDS type (CG-PDS) and 15 of Pi-qi deficiency syndrome (CG-non-PDS) type, and 8 healthy persons (as control) were examined to diagnose the inflammation level with HE stain and to detect the existence of HP infection by rapid urease test and methylthioninium chloride stain. The mRNA expressions of NF-kappaB and HSP70 in the tissues were determined quantitatively with FQ-PCR as well.
RESULTSPatients of CG-PDS showed higher level of HSP70 mRNA expression than in the control; and level of NF-kappaB mRNA expression was higher than that in the control and CG-non-PDS (all P<0.05); but both expressions were insignificantly different in CG-PDS patients with positive or negative HP infection (P>0.05). Positive correlation of the two expressions was shown in CG-PDS with negative HP infection.
CONCLUSIONNF-kappaB and HSP70 may partially embody, in some extent, the power of vital qi and evil qi in the organism; the over-expressed NF-kappaB and HSP70 may indicate the severe fighting between evil qi and vital qi, and both would be influenced to a certain degree in the fighting process.

BACKGROUND: Diabetic morbidity can predict its progress tendency. National diabetic morbidity has been increased compared with previous level at present.OBJECTIVE: To compare the diabetic morbidity between populations with impaired glucose tolerance or normal blood glucose tolerance to analyze its correlative influencing factors.DESIGN: A cluster sampling survey in two communities of Liuzhou City Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region based on adults.SETTING: Department of endocrinology in a university hospital.PARTICIPANTS: Diabetic morbidity was investigated in 4 relative big unit communities of Liuzhou City between July and August 1994. The resident population of the communities was 11 886, which were all adults between 20 and 75 years old and lived in Liuzhou City for more than 5 years. Populations with either impaired glucose tolerance or normal blood glucose tolerance in 2 of the 4 unit communities were followed up in October 1999. Totally 9 230 individuals should be checked and 6 020 subjects were actually checked with the response rate of 65.22% (quite a few cases lost followed up due to unemployment and retirement, etc. ) . Inclusion criteria: Finally 5 539 subjects with complete data of two surveys entered into statistics. There were 5 237 normal individuals and 266 individuals with impaired glucose tolerance. And there were 3 177 males including 110 individuals with impaired glucose tolerance with an average age of(40 ± 12) years old, and 2 362 females including 156 individuals with impaired glucose tolerance with an average age of(41 ± 10) years old. Exclusion criterion: secondary diabetes.METHODS: Totally 5 539 subjects(including individuals with normal blood glucose or impaired glucose tolerance) who confirmed without diabetes in 1994 survey for diabetic morbidity in 2 unit communities of Liuzhou City Gugangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region received recheck in 1999 including blood glucose, body mass index(BMI), blood pressure and blood fat to analyze the impacts of each factor on diabetic morbidity.bidity among correlative risk factors.RESULTS: Totally 5 539 individuals were included into statistics. A totally of 46 of 5 237 normal individuals developed diabetes with the annual percent of conversion of 0.19%, while 50 of 226 individuals with impaired glucose tolerance developed diabetes with the annual percent of conversion of 3.84%, which had 20.9 times of correlative risk significantly higher than normal individuals(x2 = 1 063.1, P < 0. 000 1).CONCLUSION: The risk of diabetes is higher in individuals with impaired glucose tolerance than normal individuals. Age, BMI, hypertension, fasting blood glucose, blood glucose, and 1 hour blood glucose in Glucose tolerance test are risk factors of diabetic morbidity.

Purpose To observe white matter structure features of patients with early stage (Hoehn-Yahr 1-2 phase) Parkinson''s disease (PD) by using diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) based on the fiber bundle analysis tract-based spatial statistics (TBSS); and to explore the brain regions of PD patients in which DTI parameters are significantly correlated with unified Parkinson''s disease rating scale (UPDRS) score elevation. Materials and Methods DTI sequence was performed on 27 cases of PD and 30 cases of healthy volunteers. DTI parameters including fractional anisotropy (FA), mean diffusivity (MD), axial diffusivity (AD), and radial diffusivity (RD) were analyzed in all participants by using TBSS technique, and the parameters of two groups were compared. The correlation of clinical UPDRS score with FA value, MD and RD value in the PD group were analyzed. Results Compared with that in the control group, FA values of several brain regions in PD group decreased, while MD and RD value increased (P<0.05). AD showed no obvious change (P>0.05). UPDRS score of PD group was correlated with FA, MD and RD value (P=0.001). The brain regions that showed FA value decreased, MD and RD value increased included corpus callosum, left anterior limb of internal capsule, bilateral anterior radial crown, bilateral superior radial crown and left posterior thalamic radiation (P=0.001).Conclusion There is some changes in white matter structure of the patients with early stage Parkinson''s disease, which may due to demyelination or fiber integrity damaged.
