From the hospital information system (HIS) of 20 national grade III-A general hospitals, 2 960 cases of herpes zoster as the research object, analyzes the relations between the general information, syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), western medicine combined diseases, the relationship between the solar term and the incidence of herpes zoster, and the combined use of Chinese and western medicine. Among the patients with 46-65 year old has the highest percentage of diseased; admission to general outpatient clinic is the most; the most common medical payment is medicare; combined disease such as hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease is more common; early treatment effect of herpes zoster is better than the sequelae; summer and autumn solar term patients is hospitalized more, TCM syndrome is damp heat of liver fire; about drugs, western medicine is the most commonly used vitamin B1 and mecobalamin, traditional Chinese medicine is the most frequently used Danhong injection, combination therapy with promoting blood circulation drugs and neurotrophic drugs. Thus, herpes zoster, more common in elderly patients, with no obvious relationship between solar term, should be early diagnosis and early treatment, often with combination of Chinese traditional and western medicine treatment.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture of She Medicine in treating acute lumbar sprain.Method Eighty patients with acute lumbar sprain were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,40 cases each.The treatment group was intervened by acupuncture of She medicine,while the control group received conventional medication.After successive 3-day treatment,the changes in Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Modified-Modified Schober (MMS) scores were observed,and the clinical efficacies were compared between the two groups.Result After the intervention,the VAS and MMS scores were significant changed in both groups (P＜0.01).The VAS and MMS scores of the treatment group were significantly different from those of the control group after the intervention (P＜0.01).The total effective rate and recovery rate were respectively 92.5％ and 70.0％ in the treatment group,versus 77.5％ and 40.0％ in the control group,and the between-group differences were statistically significant (P＜0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture of She medicine is effective in treating acute lumbar sprain,with advantages of swift action in releasing symptoms and high recovery rate.

Objective To construct eukaryotic expression vector of wild type E 4F1 and the mutant deleting amino acid region 32-81, and to detect the interaction between wild type or mutant E 4F1 and p53 and to study the effect of E4F1 on the expression level of p21.Methods Wild type and mutant sequences of E 4F1 were amplified from the mammary library using standard PCR and recombinant PCR .The sequences were cloned into pXJ 40-MYC vector to generate the MYC-E4F1 and MYC-E4F1(Δ32-81) recombinant plasmids that were transfected into 293T cells and identified by Western blotting . FLAG-p53 and MYC-E4F1 or MYC-E4F1(Δ32-81) were co-transfected into 293T cells and immunoprecipitation assay was performed to detect the interaction of wild type or mutant E 4F1 with p53.Wild type and mutant E4F1 expressing vec-tors were co-transfected into osteosarcoma U2OS cells and the expression of p21was detected.Results Recombinant plas-mids of MYC-E4F1 and MYC-E4F1(Δ32-81) were successfully constructed.Both wild type and mutant E4F1 interacted with p53.Deletion of amino acid region 32-81 of E4F1 increased the interaction .The expression level of p21 was in-creased by wild-type E4F1, but not by mutant E4F1.Conclusion The eukaryotic expression vector of wild type E4F1 and its deletion mutant is successfully constructed .Both of them interact with p53.Deletion of amino acid region 32-81 of E4F1 increases the interaction .This study contributes to further studies on the regulation and mechanism of E 4F1 on p53.

Objective To explore the effects of the endoscope operation equipments managed by designated persons.Methods The endoscope operation equipments managed by different persons between April 2009 and April 2010 were control group (n =2000) and that managed by designated persons between May 2010 and May 2011 were test group (n =2 000).The effects index such as packaging error rate and the surgeon's satisfaction of operation equipments were evaluated by self-designed questionnaire.Results There were 200 error packages in control group and the error rate was 10.0％,while 2 error packages in the test group and the error rate was 0.1％,and the difference was statistically significant ( x2 =204.40,P ＜ 0.01 ).The surgeon' s satisfaction of control group was 86.0％,and that of test group was 98.0％,and the difference was statistically significant( P ＜0.01 ).Conclusions The endoscope operation equipments managed by designated persons can improve the surgeon' s satisfaction and reduce the packaging error rate of operation equipments effectively,which effectively ensure the patient' s medical safety.

OBJECTIVETo study the combined effect of gestational age and birth weight on metabolites related to inherited metabolic diseases (IMD).

METHODSA total of 3 381 samples ruled out of IMD by follow-up were randomly selected from 38 931 newborns who participated in the neonatal IMD screening during 2014-2016. The 3 381 neonates were categorized into seven groups according to their gestational age and birth weight: extremely preterm appropriate-for-gestational age (AGA) group (n=12), preterm small-for-gestational age (SGA) group (n=18), preterm AGA group (n=219), preterm large-for-gestational age (LGA) group (n=18), full-term SGA group (n=206), full-term AGA group (n=2 677), and full-term LGA group (n=231). Heel blood samples were collected from each group on postnatal days 3-7 after adequate breastfeeding. Levels of 17 key IMD-related metabolic indices in dried blood spots were measured using tandem mass spectrometry. Spearman′s correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationships between 17 IMD-related metabolic indices and their influencing factors, while covariance analysis was used to compare the metabolic indices between these groups.

RESULTSAfter adjusting the influencing factors such as physiological and pathological status, compared with the full-term AGA group, the extremely preterm AGA, preterm SGA, and preterm AGA groups had significantly reduced levels of leucine\isoleucine\hydroxyproline and valine (P<0.05); the preterm AGA group had a significantly decreased ornithine level (P<0.05); the extremely preterm AGA and preterm AGA groups had a significantly reduced proline level (P<0.05). Besides, the phenylalanine level in the extremely preterm AGA and preterm AGA groups, the methionine level in the preterm SGA group, and the tyrosine level in the preterm AGA group all significantly increased (P<0.05). The increased levels of free carnitine, acetylcarnitine, and propionylcarnitine were found in the preterm SGA and preterm AGA groups. The oleylcarnitine level also significantly increased in the preterm SGA group (P<0.05). Most carnitine indices showed significant differences between the SGA group and the AGA/LGA group in both preterm and full-term infants (P<0.05).

CONCLUSIONSLow gestational age and low birth weight may result in abnormal results in IMD screening. Therefore, gestational age and birth weight should be considered to comprehensively judge the abnormal results in IMD screening.

AIMTo study preventive and therapeutic effect of zinc sulfate on lung injury during superior mesenteric artery occlusion (SMAO) shock and their mechanism of action.

METHODSModel of rabbit SMAO shock was made. The effect of zinc sulfate on the malondialdehyde (MDA) in erythrocyte membrane and plasma, oxidase (XOD) in plasma, superoxide dismutase (SOD) in erythrocyte and MDA, SOD and pulmonary surfactant (PS) in lung tissues homogenate were observed.

RESULTSThe administration of zinc sulfate decreased MDA and XOD, prevented the reduction of SOD and PS, and alleviated lung injury.

CONCLUSIONIt is suggested that lung is injured during SMAO shock and zinc sulfate possesses preventive and therapeutic effect, through stabilized membrane.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of ox-LDL, ACEI and ARB on expressions and activities of TF and TFPI in VSMC.

METHODS(1) Rabbit VSMC was cultured by explant-attached method in vitro. (2) The effects of ox-LDL and valsartan on TF and TFPI expressions were analyzed by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence. Laser scanning confocal microscopy were applied to analyze the effects of ox-LDL and valsartan on TF expression. The effects of ox-LDL, valsartan and captopril on TF and TFPI antigen expressions were analyzed by ELISA. Chromogenic substrate method was used to determine the effects of ox-LDL, valsartan and captopril on TF activity. The effects of ox-LDL and valsartan on TF mRNA expression were analyzed by RT-PCR.

RESULTS(1) ox-LDL could upregulate TF antigen, activity and TF expression at mRNA level and downregulate TFPI antigen. (2) Valsartan and captopril could reduce TF antigen and activity in VSMC treated by ox-LDL, and valsartan reduce it in a dose-dependent manner. Valsartan could also attenuate TF expression at mRNA level in VSMC treated by ox-LDL. (3) Using ELISA, valsartan and captopril could also enhance TFPI antigen in VSMC treated by ox-LDL.

CONCLUSIONOur study showed upregulated TF and downregulated TFPI expression and activity by ox-LDL and these effects could be reversed by ACEI and ARB indicating a new insight on the antiatherosclerotic effects of ACEI and ARB.

AIMTo establish a model of ischemia/reperfusion injury on L-6TG cell.

METHODSCultured L-6TG cells were divided into 2 groups: control group (C), ischemia/reperfusion group (I/R), LDH in culture fluid, SOD, XOD, free calcium in L-6TG cell and mitochondria respiration were evaluated in each group, the micromorphologic changes were observed with microscope.

RESULTSCompared with control group, after L-6TG cell suffered ischemia 4 hours and reperfusion 4 hours, LDH in culture fluid, XOD, free calcium in L-6TG cell all increased significantly, while SOD in L-6TG cell and mitochondrial respiration decreased, structural damage to L-6TG cell was severe.

CONCLUSIONUsing mimicking ischemic solution and mimicking reperfusion solution can successfully establish a model of ischemia/reperfusion injury on L-6TG cell.

OBJECTIVETo study the chemical constituents of Microtropis triflora.

METHODThe compounds were isolated by chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. There structures were elucidatedby by chemical methods and spectral analysis.

RESULTFive triterpenoids were isolated and elucidated as friedelin (1), 3-oxo-28-friedelanoic acid (2), 29-hydroxy-3-friedelanone (3), salaspermic acid (4), orthosphenic acid (5).

CONCLUSIONCompounds 1-5 are all isolated from M. triflora for the first time.

OBJECTIVETo investigate synergistic killing effect of anti-human DR5 (death receptor 5 of TRAIL) monoclonal antibody (mDRA-6) and adriamycin(Adr) on HL-60 cells.

METHODSmDRA-6 was prepared by immunizing BALB/c mice with DR5 protein. DR5 expression on Adr-treated HL-60 cells was detected by flow cytometry. Morphologic changes of HL-60 cells were observed under fluorescence microscope. Cytotoxic and apoptotic effects of mDRA-6 and Adr on HL-60 cells were measured by MTT analysis. DNA fragmentation was detected by agarose gel electrophoresis.

RESULTSAdr induce DR5 expression on HL-60 cells. Cell budding, chromatin condensation and apoptotic body formation were observed in HL-60 cells treated by mDRA-6 and Adr. Death and apoptosis of these cells and DNA ladder were exhibited on agarose gel electrophoresis.

CONCLUSIONmDRA-6 and Adr have synergistic killing effect on HL-60 cells.
