The pharmacological effects and clinical applications of fish oil preparations were reviewed. Fish oil is a natural material. Its excellent clinical tolerance and multiple pharmacological activities make it a pharmaceutical of broad prospects. Fish oil preparations have been used in the therapy and prevention of hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis in diabetics. They have also been proved effective in improving symptoms of burns and abscesses. Additionally, fish oil preparations can replace non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the therapy of immune system disorders and have effects of slowering aging and improving the memory faculty of the aged. Applications of fish oil in organ transplantation have also been reported.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of preserving the intercostobrachial nerve (ICBN) in the radical resection of breast cancer. Method All of 140 cases of breast cancer with Ⅰ - Ⅲ a stage operable eligible, were randomly divided into the experimental group with 79 cases (7 cases were rejected, 1 case was lost) that patients received radical resection of breast cancer with preservation of ICBN,and the control group with 61 cases (2 cases were lost) that patients received routine radical resection of breast cancer based on the time of admission. Analyzed postoperative local recurrence and compared to sensory dysfunction of the two groups. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups of patients in the rate of postoperative local recurrence [0-4.2% ( 3/71 ) vs. 0-3.4% (2/59)] ( P > 0.05 ). The local sensory disturbance of the experimental group [2.8% (2/71 )-11.3% (8/71)] was significantly lower than the control group [54.2%(32/59)-71.2%(42/59)], there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.01 ). Conclusion Radical resection of breast cancer with preservation of ICBN is an ideal operation in breast cancer.

Objective To explore the curative effect of oral cancer radical surgery plus free anterolateral thigh flap repair and analyze the influence factors of skin flap necrosis. Methods The data of 98 patients who underwent oral cancer radical surgery with concurrent free anterolateral thigh flap repair in our hospital from January 2010 to June 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The complete survival rate of skin flaps and incidence of complications in all patients were statistically analyzed. The age, diabetes, infection in implanted skin flap area, smoking and mental status, etc.of patients with survived or necrotic skin flaps were compared between patients with survival flaps and patients with flap necrosis, and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was performed. Results Among the 98 cases,86 cases of flaps survived completely and the survival rate was 87.8%.Fifteen cases with the skin flap necrosis, the incidence of complications was 15.3%,including 7 cases of surgi-cal site infection and 5 cases of skin flap necrosis with massive hemorrhage. The donor site incisions of all patients were primary healing and the patients were satisfied with the postoperative appearance.Among the patients with flap necrosis, the incidence rates of ≥60 years old, with diabetes, infection in flap implanted area, smoking and poor mental state (41.7%,41.7%,58.3%,75.0%,83.3%)were higher than those corresponding proportions in the patients with with survival flaps(P <0.05).Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that age,diabe-tes,infection in implanted skin flap area, smoking and poor mental status were the influencing factors for flap necrosis. Conclusion Oral cancer radical surgery with concurrent free anterolateral thigh flap repair has good curative effects. The age, combined with diabetes,smoking,infec-tion in flap implanted area and poor mental state are the risk factors for flap necrosis in patients with oral cancer after flap repair, which should be given intervention to improve the survival rate of skin flap in clinic.

Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common complication of gastrointestinal diseases and gastrointestinal surgery, which may lead to hemorrhagic shock or cause death if not treated properly and promptly.Currently, endoscopic treatment for gastrointestinal bleeding includes clip closure, endoscopical injection of saline/adrenaline, argon plasma coagulation (APC), electrocoagulation and heater probe coagulation etc..Endoscopic clip closure mainly includes traditional closure through-the-scope clip (TTSC) and more novel closure over-the-scope clip (OTSC).This article reviewed the use of OTSC in the treatment of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Objective To investigate the correlation between GSTP1 exon5 A/G polymorphism and clinic phenotype of COPD in the population of the Han nationality from southwest China. Methods Using PCR followed by restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP),genotypes of Ile105Val polymorphism in exon5 of GSTP1 were determined in 91 patients with COPD and 87 healthy control subjects. Results No significant differences were observed in the frequencies of genotypes and alleles of exon5 of GSTP1 between COPD patients and the healthy controls. The frequency of Ile105 in pink puffer patients was much more than that in the blue bloater patients. The CT scores of emphysema in patients with Ile105 was significantly higher than those with Val105.Conclusions The genetic polymorphism of exon5 of GSTP1 may not be associated with the susceptivity of COPD in the populations of the Han nationality from southwest China, but may be correlated with clinical phenotypes and lung parenchyma damage of COPD patients in the present population.

According the features of mine sweeping mission and the requirements of the armaments, the compound structure to reflect, absorb, block and attenuate the blast waves and to give dynamic protection against diffracted waves is designed, which is based on the theories of biomedical engineering, explosive mechanics and material mechanics. The calculation through3D nonlinear dynamic finite element and simultaneous tests are used in the de-velopment of the structure. These theories above-mentioned applied to the experiments and medical science com-bined with mechanical engineering,a series of technical problems in the protection against the injuries to human bodies by blast waves, detonations and mine fragments are solved.Through practical application, the outfit has been granted and finalized by Finalization Board of Armaments and given the name GGF110mine sweeping protective outfit. It has been equipped with the army and pointed for the first time to be used by the UN peacekeeping troops.

Objective To probe the application of superimposed flaps in hand surgery. Methods Form March 1998 to December 2003, we repaired 35 cases of skin defects with non trunk blood flaps and neurocutaneous vascular flaps. The area of flaps ranged from 1cm?1cm to 6cm?8cm. Results After operation, the flaps in 33 cases survived, but died in 2 cases due to unsuitable design. The follow ups ranging from 6 to 12 months showed that the quality and color of the survived flaps were similar to those of the normal tissue around. No swelling was found. Conclusion The superimposed flaps have reliable blood supply so that they are an ideal means to repair skin defects of hand.

The paper is to report the study of pharmacokinetics of transdermal administered nicotine in the brain of freely moving rat by using microdialysis with stable labeled isotope as internal standard. The pharmacokinetic behavior of nicotine in Sprague Dawley rat brain was investigated after intranasal administration (3.75 mg). Brain fluid samples were collected by intracerebral microdialysis with DL-nicotine as internal standard. Concentrations of nicotine and DL-nicotine in the sample were measured by HPLC-MS/MS. Main pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated and analyzed by Das 2.0 pharmacokinetic software. The recovery of nicotine and the delivery of DL-nicotine were the same. The fate of absorption and distribution was two compartment model and the values of t1/2alpha was 170.31 min, t1/2beta was 263.30 min and the AUC(0-infinity) was 2.75 x 10(5) microg x L(-1) min separately. DL-nicotine can be used to calibrate the recovery of nicotine, and the new method of stable isotope microdialysis can be used to study the pharmacokinetics of freely moving rat. It will make sense for the treatment of addiction of tobacco and provide a new thought for the research of pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamic combination.
