1.Function of College English in humanistic education in medical universities and colleges
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2012;11(8):840-843
Language,as a cartier of specified social culture,is closely and complementarily associated with it.Considering the especial education targets of medical universities and colleges, the present curriculum and the trend of international communication,College English is obliged to focus on humanistic value and necessarily plays its constructive role in heightening students' humanistic quality.
3.Progress of relationship between diabetes and papillary thyroid cancer
Chinese Journal of Diabetes 2017;25(7):670-672
Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is the most common type in thyroid carcinomas.Recently, the prevalence and diagnostic rate of PTC has got significantly high with the general use of ultrasound.Nowadays, more and more studies have suggested that the coexistence of PTC and diabetes is common. They indicated that hyperglycemia would induce the deterioration of oxidative stress injury, chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, obesity, dyslipidemia, deficiency of vitamin D and dysimmunity. All of these may break the balance of oxidation and antioxidation and result in disordering signal pathway, accumulation of inflammatory cytokines, over activating of insulin and insulin-like growth factor-1,changing the metabolic pathways, which will promote the occurrence and progression of PTC.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), an important component of complementary and alternative medicine, has evolved over thousands of years with its own unique system of theories, diagnostics and therapies. TCM has been increasingly used in the last decades and become well known for its significant role in preventing and treating cancer. We believe that TCM possesses advantages over Western medicine in specific aspects at a certain stage of cancer treatment. Here we summarize the advantages of TCM from three aspects: preventing tumorigenesis; attenuating toxicity and enhancing the treatment effect; and reducing tumor recurrence and metastasis.
6. Expressions of estrogen receptor subtypes and c-met proto-oncogene in endometrial carcinoma and their correlation
Academic Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University 2010;22(1):54-58
Objective: To investigate the expressions of estrogen receptor (ER) subtypes and c-met proto-oncogene in human endometrial carcinomas and to assess the clinical significance of ER and c-met in this carcinoma. Methods: Reverse transcription PCR (RT-PCR) was used to detect the expressions of ERα, ERβ and c-met proto-oncogene mRNA in 30 samples of endometrial carcinoma and 11 samples of normal endometrium. Results: The expression of ERα in endometrial carcinoma (0.70±0.40) was significantly reduced in comparison to that in normal endometrium (1.14±0.56, P<0.05). A similar finding was made for the expression of ERβ in carcinoma (0.24±0.18) versus normal tissues (0.48±0.20, P<0.05). In contrast, c-met mRNA expression was increased in endometrial carcinoma (1.45±0.72) compared to that in normal endometrium (0.42±0.31, P<0.01). A decrease tendency of the expression of ERα was also found from Stage I (0.82±0.41) to a more severe Stag II-III of endometrial carcinoma (0.42±0.17, P<0.05). The analysis of ERα and ERβ mRNA revealed a decrease tendency from shallow to deep invasion of the uterine muscles (P<0.05). We found that the expressions of ERα and ERβ were negatively correlated with c-met proto-oncogene with a coefficient correlation of -0.63 (P<0.01) and -0.32 (P<0.05), respectively. Conclusion: ERα and ERβ are both involved in mutagenic action of carcinogen. C-met proto-oncogene plays an important role in the carcinogenesis and development of endometrial carcinoma. C-met and ER expressions show a negative correlation in the development of endometrial carcinoma.

Objective To investigate the effect of eosinophils(EOS)in asthmatic guinea pigs airway and explore the mechanism of antiasthma by inhaled arsenic trioxide. Methods The guinea pigs asthma models were established with ovalbumin(OVA)challenge method,2 groups received inhaled different doses of arsenic trioxide, and three control groups respectively received normal saline inhaled and high dose of arsenic trioxide by intraperitoneal injection and dexamethasone(DEX)intraperitoneally. EOS invaded and apoptosis with all of the groups were assessed after 7 days intraperitoneal injection or inhalation. Results Compared with group of inhaled normal saline, both EOS invaded and apoptosis in bronchus submuconsa were significantly different(P0.05)among groups of inhaled low dose arsenic trioxide [2.0 mg(kg?d)]and intraperitoneal injection with higher dose arsenic trioxide[5.0 kg/(kg?d)]and DEX[10 mg/(kg?d)]for these two parameters. Conclusions The mechanism of arsenic trioxide antiasthma with arsenic trioxide can decrease EOS amount in bronchial submucosa and accelerate EOS apoptosis, and relieve bronchial inflammation in asthma. For inhaled lower dose arsenic trioxide or intraperitoneal injection with high dose arsenic trioxide ,the effect of EOS is equivalent. The antiasthma effect of inhaled lower dose arsenic trioxide[2.0 mg/(kg?d)]is equivalent to intraperitoneal injection higher dose[5.0 mg/(kg?d)],and may be safe comparatively. The mechanism of antiasthma by inhaled arsenic trioxide is the same with DEX.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2003;1(1):66-70
With the further development of clinical modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), new request to tongue diagnosis for objectivity and quantification is raised. Many researchers have devoted themselves to this field and have achieved some accomplishments since 1950's. Especially in recent years, the revolution of information technique derived from computer industry brings the research new chances. The research history of the past five decades can be divided into three stages: (1) looking for micro-markers by newly-developed medical technique; (2) quantifying traditional markers by new technique; (3) further development based on information technique and corporation of multiple subjects. This article reviewed the three stages and described its prospect.
