2.Path analysis of resilience and anxiety, depression on quality of life among esophageal carcinoma patients undergoing radiotherapy and (or) chemotherapy
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2016;32(16):1201-1205
Objective To explore the impact of resilience and anxiety, depression on quality of life (QOL) among esophageal carcinoma patients undergoing radiotherapy and (or) chemotherapy. Methods A total of 125 patients were recruited into our study. Date were collected by European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer, Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) , Resilience Scale (RS) and Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 7.0 software was used to conduct the path analysis. Results The total score of patients′ QOL, RS and HADS were(51.98±19.42)points,(56.32±17.09)points,(14.59±7.04)points. Pearson′s analysis showed that QOL was correlated with RS and HADS ( r =0.423-0.588,P<0.05). RS was negatively correlated with HADS (path coefficient was-0.76 and-0.37) and HADS negatively correlated with QOL (path coefficient was-0.56 and-0.79). RS as a protective factor indirectly influenced QOL via HADS and the paths′ total coefficients was 0.69. Conclusions The level of QOL and RS were at poor level for esophageal carcinoma patients, as well as participants experienced anxiety and depression. HADS as intermediary variable has a greater moderating effect on relationships between RS and QOL. RS is a indirect protective factor of QOL. Interventions developed on the basis of influencing factors of QOL should be applied to improve patients′integral health status.
3.Epithelial-mesenchymal transition and drug resistance of tumors
Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2013;(17):1068-1071
Differentiated epithelial cells could be transformed into mesenchymal cells through the epithelial-mesenchymal transi-tion (EMT), which is important for tumorigenesis and metastasis. Recent studies suggest that EMT is closely correlated to the resistance to chemotherapy of tumors. This chemoresistance could enhance tumor malignancy, which includes the induction of the EMT pheno-type. The paper reviews the research progress on EMT and its association with drug resistance of tumors.
4.Treatment of gouty arthritis in patients with chronic kidney diseae
Journal of Chinese Physician 2017;19(1):38-40,43
Renal protection should be taken into account when we treat chronic gouty arthritis patients combined with chronic kidney disease.Several drugs should be individualized and adjusted dosage according to renal function parameters such as GFR.At the same time,we should closely monitor the side-effects of drugs.
5.A Practical Approach to the Patient with Obesity
The Singapore Family Physician 2021;47(5):13-20
The prevalence of obesity and obesity-related comorbidities is rising. Primary care physicians are the frontline of healthcare and play a central role in the management of obesity. In this article, we discuss the 5As framework (Ask, Assess, Advise, Agree, and Assist) as a practical framework for obesity counselling, focusing on initiating the conversation and assessing the person with obesity. The assessment includes taking a weight history, excluding secondary causes, understanding lifestyle factors contributing to weight gain and assessing for complications of obesity. This assessment then makes it possible for subsequent patient engagement, including advising, agreeing (goal setting), and assisting the patient on an individualised care plan.
6.Analyzing of Depression and Nursing Strategy in Middle-aged Patients with Stroke
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2008;14(1):93-94
Objective To investigate the depression after stroke in middle-aged patients and discuss the mental nursing. Methods Self-Rating Depression Scale was used to find 30 depression patients from 52 patients with stroke. They were analyzed and accepted mental nursing. Results The rate of depression mental state patients in 52 patients is 57.69%.After accepting mental nursing, the number of unsociability, morose and fatigue decreased, while that of role adaptation and self-confident increased significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion There is high incidence of depression in middle-aged patients with stroke.Mental nursing is helpful improve their adaptation and quality of living.

miRNAs are endogenous short RNA molecules widely distributed in eukaryotic organisms. They are closely related to tumor development. One good example is miR-21. It is overexpressed in a variety of tumor tissues, suggesting that miR-21 may have significant carcinogenic activities and act as a oncogene. Many studies confirm that overexpression of miR-21 has great indication in the development, diagnosis, biological treatment and prognosis of gastrointestinal cancer.
10.Effects of rehabilitation training on the expression of Fos in the central nervous system of rats with cerebral infarction
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2001;23(1):7-10
Objective To study the effect of rehabilitation training on the expression of Fos in the central nervous system(CNS) of rats with cerebral infarction. Methods 60 SD rats were made as cerebral infarction models and divided into 2 groups at random 24 hours later: rehabilitation group was given balancing, grasping, rotating and walking and other trainings everyday, while immobiligation group was fixed in cages. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the Fos expression 1 d, 7 d, 14 d, 21 d and 28 d after infarction respectively. Results Fos-positive immune reaction appeared in cortex, thalamus, hypothalamus, reticular form and posterior gray horn of the spinal cord of both groups .Rehabilitation group responded stronger than the immobilization group significantly (P<0.01).Conclusion Rehabilitation training can activate cortical neurons around the infarted focus and in its opposite side of the CNS, and thus promote the recovery of rats' motor functions.
