Objective To investigate the influence of long-term blood purification on atherosclerosis(AS) in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients by measuring serum levels of homocysteine(Hcy) and carotid artery intima-medial thickness(IMT).Methods Seventy-two MHD patients visiting our hospital from June 2006 to December 2007,according to their blood purification mode, were assigned to three groups: hemodialysis(HD,n=25),hemodialysis+hemodiafiltration(HD+HDF,n=30),hemodialysis+continuous renal replacement therapy(HD+CRRT,n=17).Another 25 healthy subjects served as controls.Serum Hcy was detected before and after one-year treatment and meanwhile color Doppler ultrasonography was performed to check IMT of carotid artery and atheromatous plaques. Results The serum levels of Hcy,IL-6,MCP-1,hs-CRP in MHD patients were significantly higher than those in healthy controls(P
7.Clinical research in controlling infusion rate during nasal feeding by infusion pump
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2010;26(14):40-41
Objective To investigate and improve the methods of nasal feeding to reduce the occurrence of complication such as diarrhea and vomiting. Methods We separated 140 patients with heavy craniocerebral injury into the control group (50 patients) and the experimental group (90 patients) according to different nasal feeding methods. For the control group traditional method was used. For the experimental group infusion pump was used to control infusion rate. The incidence of complication was compared between two groups. And within experimental group, the same nutrient solutions in respect of type and volume were infused during 10 hours, 16 hours, and 18 hours respectively. The relationship between infusion rate and the occurrence of complication was observed, analyzed and compared to seek for the most suitable enteral nutrition route which incurred the least complication. Results The incidence of diarrhea and vomiting in the experimental group was lower than that of the control group. And there were no significant differences in the occurrence of complication by using infusion pump at three different infusion rates within the experimental group. Conclusions The application of infusion pump in nasal feeding can reduce the incidence of complication and infusing nutrient solution at a slow rate was not necessary.
8.Effects of IDH1 and IDH2 genes mutations on tumors
Journal of International Oncology 2015;(5):351-354
Isocitrate dehydrogenases(IDHs)are considered as key enzymes in the tricarboxylic acid cycle. Recurrent mutations in the IDH1 and IDH2 genes are recently found in several human cancers. Those point mutations specifically affect IDH1 and IDH2 active site arginine residues and confer a neomorphic enzyme function of directly catalyzing α-ketoglutarate(α-KG)to R-2-hydroxyglutarate(R-2-HG). R-2-HG can com-petitively inhibits α-KG-dependent enzymes and may therefore contribute to the occurrence and development of tumor. In addition,Mutation status of IDH1 and IDH2 are closely relative to the progress and prognosis of cer-tain tumor. Thus IDH1 and IDH2 are considered to be promising biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis and targeted therapy.
9.Relationship between Air Pollution and Child Pulmonary Function in China
Journal of Environment and Health 2007;0(07):-
Objective To describe the relationship between ambient air pollutants(TSP,SO2,NOx) and the level of children’s lung function (FVC,FEV1,MMEF) in China. Methods The papers on ambient air pollution and children lung function published from 1985 to 2006 were collected and 11 of them were selected according to the following criteria: children aged 7-15; local air quality monitoring results were reported; strict quality control were taken when testing children lung function; the results were expressed by the average of measure. Results The selected papers included the results of 7 cities in China. Among them, the result of 6 cities showed that the levels of children lung function were significantly lower in the heavy air pollution areas compared with that in the light pollution areas. According to the papers, the average levels of ambient air TSP were in the range of 0.084 mg/m3-0.835 mg/m3,SO2(cSO2) were 0.013 mg/m3-0.929 mg/m3,NOx were 0.044 mg/m3-0.229 mg/m3,there was a significant negative correlation between the levels of TSP and SO2 and children FVC and FEV1,as well as the levels of NOx and children MMEF,the correlation coefficients were as follows,-0.797(t=-4.384,P=0.001) between TSP and FVC,-0.693(t=-4.190,P
10.Role of angiocardiography in the diagnosis and management of complex/complicated congenital heart disease
Chinese Journal of Radiology 2000;0(12):-
Objective To evaluate the role of angiocadiography(ACG)in the diagnosis and management of complex/complicated congenital heart disease(CHD).Methods A retrospective study of ACG findings in 360 cases with complex/complicated CHD was performed with a comparision to that of echocardiography(Echo)and related clinical examination. Results The present series of CHD cases included pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect in 75 cases, double outlet of right ventricle in 62 cases,Fallot's tetralogy in 60 cases, single ventricle in 52 cases, transposition of the great arteries in 42 cases, tricuspid valve atresia in 15 cases, coronary abnormality in 6 cases, total abnormal pulmonary venous connection in 5 cases, total endocardial cushion defect in 5 cases, persistent truncus arteriosus in 4 cases, pulmonary atresia with normal ventricular septum in 3 cases, other disorders in 7 cases, and postsurgical operation in 24 cases.ACG was superior to that of Echo in demonstrating the abnormalities of systemic, pulmonary, and coronary arteries and their branches of complex/complicated CHD as well as measuring the pressure of pulmonary artery, vein, and systemic-pulmonary collateral vessels. Conclusion In the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of knotty cases with complex and complicated CHD,particularly in the demonstration of full view of systemic, pulmonary, and coronary arterial branches and accurate measurement of pulmonary arterial pressure/resistance,and atrial, ventricular, and systemic arterial pressure,ACG(including DSA)still plays an important and irreplaceable role.
