1.Clinical analysis of late recurrent retinal detachment after scleral buckling
Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(04):-
Objective To analyse the cause, therapeutic modalities and prognosis of late recurrent retinal detachment after scleral buckling. Methods A total of 657 patients(657 eyes) underwent scleral buckling, and the clinical data of 16 patients(16 eyes) with recurrent retinal detachment 6 months after the procedure were retrospectively analysed. ResultsLate recurrent retinal detachment occurred in 6 to 45 months after primary surgery,(23.87?18.46)months in average,in 2.44% of all the patients.Among the 16 patients with recurrent retinal detachment,11 experienced new retinal breaks, and old breaks reopened in the other 5.Proliferative vitreoretinopathy(PVR) grade B was found in 4 patients, grade C in 10,and grade D in 2.Fifteen patients were reoperated, among whom 4 received scleral buckling, and the other 11 vitreoretinal surgery. After reoperation, the retina was reattached in 13 cases. The patients were followed up for 4 to 16 months, and no new recurrence was observed. Conclusion Late recurrent retinal detachment after scleral buckling is rare and PVR seems to be an important factor.Reoperation based on the vitreoretinal condition can yield better prognosis.

Objective To investigate the correlation of the expressions of PTTG and VEGF proteins in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, and study its role in the development of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Methods Expression of PTTG and VEGF proteins was detected by SABC immunohistochemical technique in 36 cases of extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma,30 cases of adjacent histologically noncancerous bile duct tissues and 12 cases of benign bile duct lesions. Results The positive rates of PTTG and VEGF proteins were(72.2)%(26/36) and 83.3%(30/36) respectively,in extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma;and 63.3%(19/30) and 76.7%(23/30) in adjacent histologically noncancerous bile duct tissues. The expression of PTTG protein was significantly positively correlated with that of VEGF protein(P

Objective To explore the reversing mechanism of multidrug resistance of ciclosporin(CsA) on K562/A02 cell line, attenuating DNA damage repair through H2AX suppression. Methods K563 and K562/A02 respectively co-cultured with adriamycin(ADM) of different concentrations and CsA.MTT assay was employed to determine the inhibitory concentration of 50 percent(IC50),the resistance times and the reversal times. The K562/A02 cells treated with CsA,and reverse transcriptase(RT)-PCR technique was used to examine the mdr1 and H2AX mRNA level.Flow cytometry was used to measure P-glycoprotein(P-gp) and H2AX expression.Neutral comet assay was used to detect the level of DNA double strands break(DSBs) of the K562/A02 treated with ?H2AX antibody. Results 2?10-3g/L CsA could increase the sensitivity of K562/A02 to ADM,and the reversal times was 5.28.Mdr1 mRNA level and H2AX mRNA level were decreased when treated with CsA(P
4. Comparative study on ghrelin level change and its related factors in hypertensive elders with psychological distress
Academic Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University 2010;22(3):192-197
Objective: To investigate the change of plasma ghrelin level and explore the related factors of ghrelin alteration in elderly hypertensive patients with psychological distress. Methods: A total of 300 elders, who were screened with Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression (HAMD), and the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90) for psychological stress and somato-psychological manifestations respectively, were divided into hypertension group (n = 148) and non-hypertension group (n = 152). Their blood samples were collected to measure the plasma level of ghrelin and total cortisol on the same day. Results: The incidences of anxiety and depression were 27.7 % and 11.7 %, respectively, in all the enrolled elders. However, the rates of psychological distress, particularly anxiety, were significantly higher in the hypertensive elders than in the non-hypertensive ones (43.2 % vs. 12.5 %). Anxiety was positively related to the cortisol level but negatively related to the plasma ghrelin level, and the latter two were negatively correlated with each other. Conclusion: Chronic increase of plasma cortisol induced by long-term anxiety can lead to the reduction of ghrelin level, which then adversely affects blood pressure in elders with psychological distress. Therefore, ghrelin might be a selective antihypertensive medicine for hypertensive elders with anxiety.

Objective To research the significanec of genes bel-2 and bax in chondrocyte apoptosis in experimental osteoarthritis in rabbits.Method Twelve New Zealand rabbits divided into two groups at random:model group and control group.Model group with osteoarthritis was duplicated by immobilizing with gypsum at extension position in right hind limb of rabbits.Rabbits of model group were executed after 6 weeks and chondrocytes were taken.Positive expression rate of bcl-2 and bax mRNA was measured by immunohisto- chemistry and Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated dUTP nick end labeling(TUNEL).Results Positive expression rate of mRNA in bel-2 and bax of model group was obviously more than control group(P<0.05).According to immunohistochemistry, and grey grade of positive expression of protein in bcl-2 and bax of chondrocytes in model group was lower and positive expression rate was gigher compared with control group (P<0.05,P<0.01).bcl-2 and bax of model group were lower than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Genes bcl-2 and bax participate and thus accelerate chondrocyte apoptosis of osteoarthritis together.

Objective To investigate the effect of expression of pituitary tumor transforming gene(PTTG) on the expression of inhibitory of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Methods The constructed(recomibinant) vector,pcDNA3.1-PTTGas that contained full-length antisense PTTG,was transfected into the cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC939 in different quantity. After 48h incubation, the variation of expressions of PTTG and VEGF mRNAs and proteins were observed by RT-PCP and Western-blot method. Results(After) successful transfecting the recomibinant vector into QBC939,the mRNAs and proteins of PTTG and VEGF were all inhibited.Linear correlation analysis showed positive correlation between descendent extents of PTTG and VEGF(P

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2012;21(5):409-412
Objective To summarize the manifestation of autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) on ultrasound and contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS).MethodsThe 2D ultrasound and CEUS images of 16 patients With AIP were retrospectively analyzed. Results On 2D ultrasound,AIP presented as diffusely(15 cases) or focally (1 case)swelling with low echo.13 cases revealed dilatation of the biliary tract. The choledochal wall showed thickening with a sandwich-pattern in 9 cases, which was also shown in 3 intrahepatic bile ducts and 3 gall bladders. On CEUS,6 AlP of diffuse form enhanced simultaneously and homogeneously.1 AIP with enlarged pancreatic head enhanced simultaneously, the enhanced degree in pancreatic head was higher than that of the surrounding pancreatic tissue in the vascular phase and equal to that in the parenchymatous perfusion phase.1 AIP of focal form enhanced slightly late compared with normal pancreatic tissue and the enhanced degree was lower in the vascular phase, while in parenchymatous perfusion phase.the pancreatic tissue enhanced homogeneously.ConclusionsThe manifestation of AIP on ultrasound and CEUS had some features which were helpful in diagnosis of AIP.
