Objective To evaluate the role of contrast enhanced ultrasound in treatment of ultrasound guided high intensity fo‐cused ultrasound ablation for uterine fibroids .Methods Forty eight women with uterine fibroids were allocated into contrast en‐hanced group(25cases ,42fibroids) and non contrast enhanced group(23 cases ,35 fibroids) .The average volume of fibroids and the non perfused volume and the fractional ablation and adverse effects between the tow groups were compared .Results Non perfused volume was observed in all fibroids of the two groups after high intensity focused ultrasound ablation through sulphur hexafluoride micro bubbles .The average non perfused volume was 19 .5(18 .2)cm3 and 22 .5(14 .5)cm3 ,fractional ablation was (78 ± 18)% and (87 ± 13)% of the uterus immediately after HIFU respectively .The average non perfused volume was 18 .6(18 .2)cm3 and 19 .5 (18 .7)cm3 ,fractional ablation was (85 .7 ± 15 .2)% and (87 .6 ± 8 .0)% of the uterus two days after HIFU .There was no signifi‐cant difference was observed in average non perfused volume and the fractional ablation between the two groups(P>0 .05) .During HIFU procedure ,more patients in non contrast enhanced group complained sacral pain than those in contrast enhanced group(P<0 .05) .Conclusion Contrast enhanced ultrasound is an accurate method in assessing the treatment effect of HIFU and could be safely used during HIFU treatment for uterine fibroids ,shorten therapy time ,and decrease side reaction .
9.Three dimensional finite element simulation of humerus fracture caused by indirect force
Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(08):-
[Objective]To simulate the biomechanics mechanism and environment of humeral fracture caused by indirect impact force for the purpose of biomechanics understanding and treatment of such fracture.[Method]Based on the data source, which was high-resolution anatomic slice images from approximal clavicle to distal humerus, 1 mm thickness and totally 380 layers, the geometric model of total shoulder joint was established according to the order:point, line, area, and further meshed to set up the three dimension finite element model of shoulder, fracture sites and instantaneous stress and strain of humerus were simulated and analyzed under the condition which longitudinal impact force was loaded on the humerus based on the 12 functional positions of shoulder(abduction 30?、 45?、 60?、 90?, and simultaneous neutrality, internal rotation 45?,external rotation 45?).[Result]According to the humeral shaft load-strain curve in different functional positions of shoulder, linear relation was found when load changed from 0 N to 250 N, after which non-linear come out, and even load was removed , bone was deformed eternally. With the rise in load amount, the increase in stress was detected. When abduction degree changed from 90? to 30?, the strain of humerus, both the lateral and the medial increased gradually, and increase in internal rotation 45?and external rotation 45? was more significant than that in neutrality. Meanwhile, stress difference could be seen between the lateral and the medial , and medial was larger than the lateral. Increase in stress in rotation positions was quicker and more than that in other functional positions.[Conclusion]Based on 4 abduction degrees (30?, 45?, 60?, 90?) and 3 rotation degrees(neutrality, internal rotation 45?,external rotation 45?) ,the three dimensional finite element shoulder could simulate precisely stress, strain, general trend of fracture line, three dimension images of bone failure. Three dimension finite element simulation and analysis of shoulder is a valuable mechanical method for research on biomechanics theory related to humerus fracture.
10.ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MECHANISM OF SODIUM GLYCYRRHETINATE
Yongjie WU ; Xinfang LI ; Lin HE
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Glycyrrhetic acid is a hydrolytic product of .glycyrrhizin which comes from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. This study showed that its sodium salt, sodium glycyrrhetinate ( SGA, 28mg/kg ip ) inhibited egg white or yeast-induced edema of rat hind paws; Meanwhile, SGA decreased prostaglandin E2 in inflammatory fluid. Malonyldialdehyde in mouse swelling paws stimulated by egg white was decreased by SGA and increased by arachidonic acid. The inhibitory action of SGA on production of malonyldialdehyde c.ould be entirely abolished by arachidonic acid, suggesting that phospholipase A2 bo inhibited by SGA. Also, SGA antagonized the contracting effect of inflammatory mediators such as histamine ( IC50 = 12 ,7mg/ L), 5 -hydroxytrypataminG (IC50=16.1 mg/L ) and SRS-A ( IC5O = 17.0mg/L)on isolated guinea-pig ileum. Because SGA inhibited cro-ton oil-induced ear-swelling of adrenalectomized mice, its anti-inflammatory action has no relationship with hypophysial-adrenocortial axis.
