4.Effect of Modified Sijunzi Decoction on Humoral Immunity of Rats with Exercise-induced Exhaustion
Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2015;32(6):1052-1054,1058
Objective To observe the influence of modified Sijunzi Decoction on the decrease of immune function of exercise-induced exhaustion rats. Methods Thirty SD rats were given adaptive training, and then 6 dead or non-adaptive rats were dropped out. The remaining 24 SD rats were randomly divided into normal group ( N= 8) , model group ( N = 8) , and modified Sijunzi Decoction group ( MSD group, N = 8) . Normal group did not receive any medication and took diet freely. The rats of model group and MSD group were orally given distilled water or modified Sijunzi Decoction 8 g per day respectively after the modeling by exercise-induced exhaustion. After 61 days, the serum was taken from the three groups, and immunoglobulin lgA, lgG, lgM, and complement C3,C4 were detected. Results The contents of immunoglobulins IgA, IgG, IgM and complements C3, C4 in MSD group were higher than those in the model group ( P<0.01) . Conclusion The decrease of immunity occurs in the process of exercise stress, but can be delayed by modified Sijunzi Decoction..

Objective To observe the effects of stone needle on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in acute exacerbation period (AECOPD). Methods One hundred and forty five cases of AECOPD were randomly divided into three groups. Patients in combined treatment group (n =49) received that stone needle hot compresses the back and Chinese herbal medicine besides routine treatment. Patients in Chinese herbal medicine group (n =48) received Chinese herbal medicine besides routine treatment. Patients in placebo group (n =48) received routine treatment. Results The effective rate of combined treatment group was 89.80%,and that of Chinese herbal medicine group was 85.42%,which were all significantly higher than which in placebo group (72.92%,P

Gastroesophageal reflux disease( GERD)is caused by dysfunction of lower esophageal sphincter( LES), which allows the contents of stomach and duodenum to reflux into esophagus. Currently, medical and surgical therapies are the main treatment for GERD,but patients need to take life-long acid suppression and the surgical treatment has the risks of potential side effects. Endolumenal therapy as a minimally invasive approach to GERD can safely and effectively relieve the symptoms of GERD,especially Stretta radiofrequency procedure, transoral noninvasive fundoplication( TIF ) and LinX reflux management system. This article reviewed the advances in study on endolumenal therapy for GERD.

Objective To explore the clinical methodology and comparative analysis of both autogenous septum cartilagineum nasi or Medpor surgical implant in secondary unilateral cleft lip rhinoplasty. Methods Thirty-six patients with varied secondary nasal deformities of unilateral cleft lip were treated, autogenous septum cartilagineum nasi or Medpor surgical implant were implanted to supply the powerful supporting strength for nasal constructions. An anthropometry method based on the quantitative analysis of the characteristics of nasal deformity was used to evaluate and compare the preoperative and postoperative measure of the patients. Results After 6 to 24 months follow-up,all 36 cases received satisfactory results.20 of them used autologous septum cartilagineum nasi to supply the powerful supporting strength for nasal construcions, and other used Medpor surgical implant. No rejection and exposure of implants were found. The postoperative quantitative measurement results supported that both of the implants could effectively correct nasal deformities. Conclusions Both of the implants could effectively correct nasal deformities of unilateral cleft lip in secondary rhinoplasties. The quantitative measurement is a scientific approach to evaluate the outcome.

Objective To investigate the effect of exercise therapy on I° adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). Methods 70 cases with I°AIS were included. 32 patients correcting posture themselves for 0.5 year or above were as control group, and the other 38 cases who accepted exercise therapy for 0.5 year were as treatment group. Their X-ray of spine before and after treatment were compared. Results The Cobb's angle, rotation of the spine, and compensatory improved after treatment in the treatment group (P<0.01), but no significant improvement was obsereved in the control group after 0.5 year. Conclusion Exercise therapy is safe and effective on I° AIS.
