1.Research progress of BARD1 in tumors
Cancer Research and Clinic 2014;26(7):497-499
BRCA1-associated RING domain 1(BARD1) is composed with ring finger, ankyrin repeats and BRCT (BRCA1 C-terminus) domain. The special structure is involved in many essential biological processes such as DNA repair, cell survival and apoptosis, proteasome dependent protein degradation and so on.The abnormal expression of BARD1 is closely related with the occurrence and progression of carcinoma.Aberrant splice variants of BARD1 are very potential tumor markers for cancer diagnosis.
2.A survey on external genital organ diseases among 1822 young men in Beijing
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2009;8(11):821-822
The external genital organs were examined in 1822 male military recruiters from 2004 to 2008 in Beijing. The prevalence of redundant prepuce was 67.07%.that of phimosis was 2.36%and that of moderate to severe varicocele Writs 1.43%.Among all examinees 68(3.73%)recruiters failed physical examination due to phimosis or moderate to severe vailcocelel. We suggest a joint effort should be made by community health centers and urological specialists to check up genital organs of male youngsters, and health education should be provided in schools,so early cure would be possible and qualification rate of recruiters could be raised.

Objective To explore the clinical effect of atorvastatin on acute cerebral infarction treated with atorvastatin in the elderly. Methods 136 patients with acute cerebral infarction treated in our department from Oct.2011 to Nov.2012.And the patients were divided into observation group and control group. In observation group,68 cases were treated with conventional therapy plus Atorvastatin combined with aspirin. In control group,68 cases were treated with conventional therapy and aspirin. The clinical effect and safety were observed. Results In observation group versus control group, the cure rate (42.7% vs.29.4%,x2 =2.584,P =0.108) and total effective rate (86.8% vs.79.4%,x2 =1.821,P=0.177) showed no statistically significant differences.Posttreatment versus pre-treatment showed that neurological deficit score was improved both in observation group(t=18.621,P<0.001) and in control group(t=15.026,P<0.001) and activities of daily living improved both in observation group (t=10.544,P<0.001)and in control group (t=8.815,P<0.001).The differences of in neurological deficit score (t=1.179,P=0.120) and activities of daily living (t =0.321,P =0.374) were not statistically significance between the two groups. Before treatment, there were no significant differences in total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),low density-lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density-lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C)between the observation group and the control group. After treatment, the difference in improvement of TC (t=8.446,P<0.001),TG (t=4.145,P<0.001),LDL-C (t=3.439,P=0.001) and HDL-C(t=2.718,P=0.004) between observation group and control group were statistically significant. Conclusions Atorvastatin combined with aspirin as add-on therapy to conventional therapy plus aspirin has better efficacy in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction in the elderly, and improve the blood lipid related indicators and life activity.
4.Early Liver Injury Following High Velocity Projectile Wounding to Dogs
Chinese Journal of Trauma 1991;0(S1):-
Following high velocity projectile wound to dog legs, some indexes reflecting hepatic functions were measured. It was found that at 24 hr after wounding the ATP and phospholipid levels of the liver decreased, and that the OCT activity in serum and liver MDA content increased. The results revealed that the hepatic function impaired at 24hr after injury. It suggested that the hepatic function should be monitored and maintained even in the early period of high velocity projectile injury.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2012;(24):3687-3688
Objective To assess the application value of serum procalcitonin(PCT)for the differentiation between the neonates with or without septicemia. Methods PCT,C-reactive protein(CRP),blood and blood culture tests were done in 75 cases of neonatal septicemia as the therapy group, and 74 neonates without the signs of infection as the control group after the admission of our hospital One week later, the therapy group also re-examined the PTC and CRP tests.Furthermore, the results were analyzed. Results The levels of CRP(23.26±5.68)mg/L and PCT(7.61±4.53)ng/L in therapy group were dramatically reduced compared with(4.09±1.09)mg/L,(1.95±0.25)ng/L in therapy group,and(6.42±4.54)mg/L,(0.45±0.16)ng/L in the control group before therapy, the t values are 28.71,12.97 and 19.97,14.08 respectively, and p value are both less than 0.01.The positive rates of PTC,CRP and blood culture were 82.7%,48.0% 28.0% before the admition to hospital. The differences of PTC and CRP,PTC and blood culture had statistical significances(x2=5.64,P<0.05;x2=10.40,P<0.01).If 2.5 μg/L of PCT and 8mg/L of CRP would be regarded as cutoff point in our study, the sensitivity and specificity of PCT or CRP for diagnosis of neonatal septicemia was 82.7% and 80.3%,48.7% and 78.4%.Conclusion Our data suggested that the serum PTC is a valuable marker for the early diagnosis of neonatal septicemia.

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
In order to improve the optimum temperature of lipases, The Penicillum expansum lipase (PEL) gene was mutated by site-directed mutagenesis using overlap extension PCR technique. The recombinant plasmid pPIC3.5K-lip-E83V containing matant gene was expressed in Pichia pastoris GS115. The comparison experiments of the mutant PEL-E83V-GS with the wild-type PEL-GS showed that: the optimum temperature of the mutant (45℃) was higher by 5℃ than that of the wild type. The thermostability of the mutant was similar to the wild type. The enzymatic activity of the mutant was 188 U/mL at 37 ℃, which was 80% that of the wild type at the same conditions. The hydrophobic interaction may be enhanced in the surface region by the hydrophilic amino acid, Glu substituted with the hydrophobic amino acid, Val, and be responsible for the improvement of optimum temperature.
8.Analysis of laboratory critical value reporting in the department of spine surgery and management strategies
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2016;32(13):1000-1002
Objective To investigate the common critical value (CV) of patients hospitalized in the department of spine surgery and to determine the corresponding management. Methods Medical records of patients between 2013 January and 2014 December were retrospectively reviewed. 47 cases with CV were noted. The following characteristics of CV were recorded and analyzed, including time-point at occurrence, type, reason and management. Results Most of the CVs (43/47, 91.5%) were detected between 8 am to 12 am, and between 17 pm and 21 pm. Overall, there were 24 cases of abnormal blood electrolyte (51.1%), 13 cases of abnormal routine blood test (27.7%), 5 cases of abnormal blood coagulation test (10.6%), and 1 case of abnormal TnT (2.1%). The remaining 4 cases including 2 cases detected in the night (1 case of abnormal blood gas test and 1 case of abnormal TnT) and 2 cases detected in the afternoon (1 case of positive blood bacteria culture and 1 case of low blood glucose level). Conclusions The most common CVs were summarized in the clinical practice. The findings have important clinical implications concerning the management of these CVs. In addition, preventive modality of daily nursing and standardization of medical management should be applied so as to ensure the safety of patients and rapid recovery.
10.Differentiation into oligodendrocytes of bone marrow stromal cells transplanted to the injured spinal cord
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2012;14(9):795-799
Objective To investigate the feasibility of transplanting bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) in the injured spinal cord for differentiation into functional oligodendrocytes in rats. Methods The ultra-structure of transplanted BMSCs in the injured rat spinal cord was observed at 1,3,5 weeks after transplantation by immuno-electron microscopy and low temperature embedding. The expressions of myelin basic protein (MBP) and proteolipid protein (PLP) in the transplanted BMSCs in the injured spinal cord were observed at 1,3,5 weeks after transplantation by immunofluorescence staining and laser confocal scanningmicroscopy. Results The organelles in the BMSCs migrated into the white matter of the spinal cord anddeveloped at 1 week after transplantation, showing the ultra-structure features of oligodendrocytes. The BMSCs migrating into the white matter of the spinal cord showed mature ultra-structure features of oligodendrocytes and formed myelin-like structures at 3 and 5 weeks after transplantation. The BMSCs migrating into the white matter of the spinal cord expressed the MBP and PLP at one week after transplantation, and continued to express the MBP and PLP at 3 and 5 weeks after transplantation. Conclusion The BMSCs transplanted into the injured spinal cord nay partly differentiate into functional oligodendrocytes.
