Objective:
To evaluate the effect of high-intensity interval somatosensory training combined with neuromuscular acupoint electrical stimulation on blood glucose and motor function among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), so as to provide insights into prevention of daily life disability among T2DM patients.
Methods:
T2DM patients treated in Zhejiang Hospital during the period from January 2019 to October 2021 were enrolled and randomly assigned into four groups. Patients in the K group received Kinect somatosensory interaction technology-assisted high-intensity interval training, patients in the N group received neuromuscular acupoint electrical stimulation, and patients in the KN group received high-intensity interval somatosensory training combined with neuromuscular acupoint electrical stimulation, while patients in the C group were given no interventions. The 2 h postprandial plasma glucose and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) levels were measured prior to interventions and 4 and 12 weeks post-interventions, and seven physical fitness tests were performed. The blood glucose levels and motor activity were compared among four groups using generalized estimating equations to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Results:
Totally 199 T2DM patients were enrolled, including 51 patients in the KN group, 49 patients in the K group, 52 patients in the N group and 47 patients in the C group. There were no significant differences in gender, age, course of disease, duration of daily exercises, waist-to-hip ratio, vital capacity or maximal oxygen uptake among the four groups prior to interventions (all P>0.05). There were time-group interaction effects in blood glucose and exercise parameters among the four groups post-interventions (all P>0.05), with the largest changes seen in the KN group. The HbA1c, 2 h postprandial plasma glucose, 2.4 m standing and detour test and back scratch test results reduced by 17.06%, 27.01%, 36.52% and 20.94% 12 weeks post-interventions as compared to those prior to interventions, while 2 min stepping test, 30 s sit-ups, 30 s loading and elbow flexion test, 6 min walking test and sit and reach test results increased by 18.85%, 34.69%, 15.41%, 7.22% and 112.37%, respectively.
Conclusion
High-intensity interval somatosensory training combined with neuromuscular acupoint electrical stimulation may improve the blood glucose and motor activity among patients with T2DM.

Objective To observe the clinical effect of artificial ventilation combined continuous positive airway pressure(CPAP) with removal of tracheobronchial foreign bodies for children and to explore the possibility and security of the method. Methods 60 children with tracheobronchial foreign body, underwent total intravenous anesthesia ,were randomly divided into A group and B group. Each group had 30 cases. A group was given artificial ventilation with CPAP. The bronchofibroscope was connected to anesthesia machine with side hole after induction for 3 minutes, and high fresh gas flow(10 ~ 15L/min) was given to maintain continuous positive airway pressure. B group were given high frequency jet ventilation(HFJV) ,60 ~ 100 bpm. The mask ventilation was given in stand of bronchofibroscope when SpO2 < 90% and until SpO2 improved. MAP, HR, ECG, SpO2, PaO2, PaCO2 were monitored and recorded at time points: T0 (entered operation room), T1 (beginning of bronchofibroscopy), T2 (5 min after bronchofibroscopy), T3 (10 min after bronchofibroscopy), T4 (end of operation). The side effects, the rate of fail to bronchofibroscopy and the rate of intubations after operation in two groups were observed and recorded. Results The HR of post-anesthesia in two groups significantly decreased than those at T0 (P < 0.01), but no difference showed in HR between two groups(P > 0.05). SpO2 and PaO2 of post-anesthesia in two groups significantly increased than those at T0 (P <0. 01) ,PaO2 at T1 ,T2 ,T3 in A group were significantly higher than those in B group(P <0.05). PaCO2 gradually increased after bronchofibroscopy in two groups ,and the values in A group was significantly lower than in B group(P <0.05 or 0. 01). There were no significant differences in the rates of fail to bronchofibroscopy and of intubations after operation between two groups, but the total number of B group was higher. Conclusion Artificial ventilation with CPAP for children with removal of tracheobronchial foreign bodies was safe and practical, and has a better controllability, a minor effect to respiratory function, deserve popularizing.

Neurology Asia 2017;22(2):133-138
Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate whether there is an association between Parkinson’s
disease (PD) and colorectal cancer in Taiwan. Methods: This was a case-control study using claim
data of the Taiwan National Health Insurance Program. There were 64,619 subjects aged 20-84 with
newly diagnosed colorectal cancer as cases and 64,619 randomly selected subjects without colorectal
cancer as controls from 2005 to 2011. Both cases and controls were matched by sex, age, comorbidities,
and index year of diagnosing colorectal cancer. Subjects who were diagnosed with PD within 5 years
of diagnosing colorectal cancer were excluded. The multivariable logistic regression model was used
to estimate the adjusted odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI) for risk of colorectal
cancer associated with PD. Results: After adjusting for confounding factors, the multivariable logistic
regression analysis revealed that the adjusted OR of colorectal cancer was 0.69 for subjects with PD
more than 5 years before index date (95% CI 0.59, 0.81), as compared with subjects without PD.
Conclusion: PD is associated with reduced odds of colorectal cancer. Further research is needed to
elucidate the mechanisms underlying our findings.

Objective To investigate the regularity of chronopharmacology of bruceolic oil emulsion ( BOE) in treating H22 tumor-bearing mice. Methods The KM mice model bearing H22 hepatocellular carcinoma was established. And then the model mice were divided into groups according to the condition of illumination and medicine intervention. After treatment for 10 days, the tumor-growth inhibitory rate, viscera indexes, and hepatic and renal function indexes were observed. Results Tumor mass and ratio of tumor mass to body mass were decreased in medication groups under the normal and disordered illumination. The tumor mass and ratio in mice treated with BOE before dark phase of normal illumination and disordered illumination, and during the dark phase of disordered illumination differed from those of the model group at the corresponding illumination phase (P<0.05) . Under normal illumination, BOE-treated mice at 10 pm of dark phase had lower liver index but higher thymus index than the model group (P < 0.05) . Under disordered illumination, BOE-treated mice at 7 am of dark phase had higher spleen index than the model group ( P < 0.05) . Conclusion BOE exerts certain inhibition of H22 hepatocellular carcinoma under both normal illumination and disordered illumination, and the effect will be better when medication is given in dark phase period.
