To analyze components of Citrus reticulata and salt-processed C. reticulata by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF/MS), and compared the changes in components before and after being processed with salt. Principal component analysis (PCA) and partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) were adopted to analyze the difference in fingerprint between crude and processed C. reticulata, showing increased content of eriocitrin, limonin, nomilin and obacunone increase in salt-processed C. reticulata. Potential chemical markers were identified as limonin, obacunone and nomilin, which could be used for distinguishing index components of crude and processed C. reticulata.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
The combination effect of high hydrostatic pressure and moderate heat on the inactivation kinetics of Bacillus coagulans spore in phosphate buffer and UHT(Ultra High Temperature)whole milk was investigated. The pressure come-up time and corresponding log-reduction of spore inactivation were considered during pressure-thermal treatment.Bacillus coagulans spore had a much higher resistance to pressure in UHT whole milk than in phosphate buffer.Survival data were modeled using the linear,Weibull and log-logistic models to obtain relevant kinetic parameters. The tailing phenomenon occurred in all survival curves, indicating the linear model was not adequate for describing these curves. The log-logistic model produced best fits to survival curves, following by Weibull model.

Chinese Medical Journal 2007;120(8):684-689
BACKGROUNDNoise is widespread occupational hazard in iron and steel industry. Overhead-traveling cranes are widely used in this industry, but few studies characterized the overhead-traveling crane drivers' noise exposure level so far. In this study, we assessed and characterized personal noise exposure levels of overhead-traveling crane drivers in two steel-rolling mills.
METHODSOne hundred and twenty-four overhead-traveling crane drivers, 76 in the cold steel-rolling mill and 48 in the hot steel-rolling mill, were enrolled in the study. Personal noise dosimeters (AIHUA Instruments Model AWA5610e, Hangzhou, China) were used to collect full-shift noise exposure data from all the participants. Crane drivers carried dosimeters with microphones placed near their collars during the work shifts. Work logs had been taken by the drivers simultaneously. Personal noise exposure data were divided into segments based on lines in which they worked. All statistical analyses were done using SPSS 13.0.
RESULTSThe average personal noise exposure (L(Aeq.8h)) of overhead-traveling crane drivers in the hot steel-rolling mills ((85.03 +/- 2.25) dB (A)) was higher than that in the cold one ((83.05 +/- 2.93) dB (A), P < 0.001). There were 17 overhead traveling cranes in the hot steel-rolling mill and 24 cranes in the cold one, of which carrying capacities varied from 15 tons to 100 tons. The average noise exposure level based on different lines in the hot and cold steel-rolling mills were (85.2 +/- 2.61) dB (A) and (83.3 +/- 3.10) dB (A) respectively (P = 0.001), which were similar to the average personal noise exposure in both mills. The noise exposure levels were different among different lines (P = 0.021).
CONCLUSIONNoise exposure levels, depending upon background noise levels and the noise levels on the ground, are inconstant. As the noise exposure levels are above the 85 dB (A) criteria, these drivers should be involved in the Hearing Conservation Program to protect their hearing.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2005;13(3):472-478
To explore the possibility of in vitro induction of cord blood cell-derived lymphocytes into cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) with anti-leukemia specificity, umbilical cord blood (UCB)-derived mononuclear cells were cultured with multiple cytokines to generate dendritic cells (DC) in vitro. Leukemia cells were irradiated with (137)Cs and activated by premature cytokines. The characteristics of maturation of DC were evaluated through morphology examination and flow cytometry. DC pulsed with leukemic antigens were co-cultured with lymphocytes. Cytotoxicity of the CTL to corresponding leukemic cells was measured with lactate dehydrogenase-release assay. The results showed that UCB-derived monocytes could be induced into typical DC in all of the 12 samples. Expression of immunological markers such as CD1a(+), HLA-DR(+), CD86(+), CD83(+) on DC were significantly up-regulated (P < 0.05). DC presenting leukemic antigens generated leukemia-specific CTL with a killing rate of (44.76 +/- 17.42)% at the E:T ratio of 50:1 against AML cells and a killing rate of (8.50 +/- 4.25)% at the E:T ratio of 50:1 against ALL cells. Whereas, these CTL present almost no killing effect on the mononuclear cells collected from the same patients in complete remission phase. It is concluded that (1) it is possible to induce UCB-derived monocytes into mature DC with typical morphology. (2) Cord blood derived mature DC presenting leukemia antigen can generate leukemia-specific CTL with vigorous cytotoxic activity against the same leukemia blasts and low killing activity against bone marrow cells of the same patients in complete remission phase.

Chinese Journal of Stomatology 2003;38(2):89-92
OBJECTIVETo observe the millimeter wave therapy responses in patients with burning mouth syndrome.
METHODSEighty patients were randomized divided into 4 groups. The first group was treated with both millimeter wave irradiation and routine medication, the second group with millimeter wave irradiation, the third with pretending millimeter wave irradiation and routine medication and the fourth with routine medication. Pain, extravasated blood level and autonomic nerve system condition were double-blindly evaluated either before or after the treatment.
RESULTSStatistically significant difference (P < 0.05) was found as the degree of pain was compared before and after treatment of all the 4 groups. The first and second group, which were affected by the millimeter wave irradiation, had obvious improvements in the extravasated blood level and autonomic nerve system condition (P < 0.05). When the 4 groups were compared with each other, there were significant differences (P < 0.05) between the first and the fourth groups, and the second and the fourth groups regarding the reduction of pain. According to extravasated blood level, significant differences (P < 0.05) were found in the first and third or fourth groups, the second and third or fourth groups.
CONCLUSIONSThe irradiation of holographic point by millimeter wave can improve the patients' pain, extravasated blood level and autonomic nerve system condition. It might provide a new treatment method for burning mouth syndrome.
