Objective To observe the effect of panax notoginseng saponins (PNS) pretreatment on the expression of wnt4 protein in renal ischemia reperfusion injury in rats. Methods Seventy-two male SD rats were randomly averaged into control group (CON group), renal ischemia-reperfusion group (IR group) and PNS group. Rats in CON group were removed the right kidneys, and the left kidneys were exposed for 30 minutes, and then the incisions were closed. Rats of IR group were removed the right kidneys, and the left renal artery were clamped for 30 minutes, and then the incisions were closed. Rats in PNS group were injected PNS (150 mg/kg) via tail vein for 3 days before experiment, and the rest steps were the same with IR group. After 24 h, 48 h and 72 h reperfusion, 8 rats in each group were killed, and blood and kidney samples were collected to examine the serum creatinine (Scr) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN). The left renal tissues were stained with HE. Pathological changes were observed under light microscopy. The score of renal tubular injury was evaluated. Immunohistochemistry was performed to detecte the expression of wnt4 in kidney tissue. The expression of wnt4 was detected by Western blot assay. Results There was significant renal injury in IR group. The renal tubular injury score, Scr and BUN reached the peak levels of injury at 24 h, which were then decreased gradually, but at 72 h still significantly higher than those of CON group (P<0.05). The renal tubular injury score, Scr and BUN values at different time points were significantly lower in PNS group than those of IR group (P<0.05). The results of wnt4 immunohistochemistry and Western blot assay were consistent, which showed that the expression of wnt4 peaked at 24 h in IR group and PNS group, but the expression levels were significantly higher in PNS group than those of IR group at each time point (P<0.05). Conclusion PNS could protect kidney from ischemia-reperfusion injury, which may be related to the enhanced expression of wnt4 protein.

Methods Two hundred and fifty-seven patients(405 eyes) with normal lacrimal secretion received dry eye tests.Patients were divided into positive group and negative group according to the results,and were randomly subdivided into 4 groups with different environment temperature(T) and relative humidity(RH).For all eyes,TOC,body surface temperature(TBS) of forehead and center corneal thickness(CCT) were measured right after blinking.The impact factors for TOC and the differences in TOC between positive group and negative group were analysed.Results TOC was positively correlated with TBS(r=0.89),T(r=0.75) and RH(r=0.60)(P

Objective To know the focus groups' iodine nutrition level after implementation of a new standard of salt iodization,and to provide technical support for iodine deficiency disorders (IDD) prevention in Nanping City.Methods According to the requirements of Focus Groups' Iodine Nutrition and Related Health Monitoring Program in Fujian Province,Yanping,Jian'ou,Zhenghe,Jianyang and Shaowu counties (cities,districts) were selected for monitoring in 2014;Pucheng,Songxi,Wuyishan,Shunchang and Guangze counties (cities,districts) were selected for monitoring in 2015.We studied:①The water iodine:2 tap water samples were collected from centralized water supply system;from decentralized water supply system,2 residents drinking water samples were collected according to each of five directions of east,west,south,north,and center,for determination of water iodine content.②Salt iodine:4 administrative villages (neighborhood committees) were selected from each monitoring site,from which 15 households were selected,edible salt samples were collected,and salt iodine content was tested.③Urinary iodine:one primary school was selected from each monitoring site,30-40 students aged from 8-10 years old were selected from each primary school,urine samples were collected for detecting urinary iodine.④Salt intake per capita:among the 8-10 years old students whom had been collected urine samples,10 students' family edible salt samples were collected,then the salt intake per capita was measured via 3-days weighing method.⑤ Goiter:in Jianyang and Shaowu Cities in 2014,and in Guangze and Shunchang Cities in 2015,the thyroid volume was measured using ultrasound,and goiter rate was calculated of 8-10 years old students whom had been collected urine samples before.⑥Pregnant women urinary iodine:20 pregnant women (early,middle and late pregnancy were included) were selected in each monitoring site,urine samples were collected for detecting urinary iodine.Results Investigation results in 2014 and 2015 were as follows:61 and 50 samples of daily drinking water of the two years were investigated,the medians of drinking water iodine were 1.5 and 5.7 μg/L for each group of samples,respectively;and daily salt intake of 253 and 250 residents of the two years were investigated,and the medians intake were 6.8 and 6.9 g/d,respectively;1 500 and 1 500 residential edible salt samples in the two years were tested,iodized salt coverage rates were 99.7％ (1 496/1 500) and 99.9％ (1 498/1 500),respectively,qualified rates of iodized salt were 95.7％ (1 431/1 496) and 94.5％ (1 416/1 498),respectively,qualified iodized salt consumption rates were 95.4％ (1 431/1 500) and 94.4％ (1 416/ 1 500),respectively;of which 749 and 1 000 8-10 years old children's urinary iodine were also tested,and children's urinary iodine medians were 190.1 and 210.4 μg/L,respectively;300 and 275 thyroids of children aged from 8 to 10 were tested,and goiter rates (ultrasound method) were 1.3％ (4/300) and 2.9％ (8/275),respectively;500 and 500 pregnant women urinary iodine were tested in the two years,and pregnant women urinary iodine medians were 133.2 and 150.3 μg/L,respectively,the pregnant women urinary iodine median of the Nanping City of 10 counties (cities,districts) and 7 counties (cities,districts) were less than 150 μg/L.Conclusions Nanping City's natural environment iodine is deficient.After the new standard of salt iodization,we can continue to promote the process of the standard of eliminating IDD in China,besides,8-10 years old children's iodine nutrition is basically at the appropriate level,but the level of pregnant women has showed a slightly deficiency.

The growth-propagation and decolorization-degradation systems for the model dy e Biebrich Scarlet by Trametes hirsuta were established preliminar ily. It was showed that 30℃ and the static culture were better; the effects of compo nents in culture media on the efficiencies of decolorization and degradation wer e not significant; considering the convenience of observing the changes of dye c o lors and shortenig the culture period, the potato liquid medium had the advantag e of others as a preferable medium for reaction systems of Trametes hirsuta . The decolorization and degradation of all dyes Biebrich Scarlet and Direct Deep Blu e L-3RB, Reactive Blue X-BR, Basic Violet 5BN, and Methylene Blue by Tramete s hirsuta were better.

Objective:To explore the effect of different doses of lidocaine on recovery quality of patients with iodine-deficiency goiter after general anesthesia resection.Methods:Using a prospective design, 108 patients who underwent iodine-deficiency goiter resection in Yantai Yeda Hospital from April 2018 to April 2020 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into control group (normal saline), lidocaine group A (1 mg/kg) and lidocaine group B (2 mg/kg) by random number table method, 36 cases in each group. The corresponding dose of lidocaine or the equivalent dose of normal saline was pumped into the vein after anesthesia induction and intubation for 30 minutes. The changes in the diastolic blood pressure (DBP), systolic blood pressure (SBP) and blood glucose (GLU) levels of the three groups were observed before administration, immediately after the operation, immediately after opening the eyes, immediately after extubation, and 10 minutes after extubation; at the same time, arousal and restlessness score (RS), sedation score (Ramsay), visual analogue score (VAS) and adverse reactions(coughing, nausea and vomiting, respiratory depression) occurrence were recorded.Results:At the moment of eye opening, immediately after extubation and 10 minutes after extubation, DBP (mmHg: 77.26 ± 4.85, 73.45 ± 4.37, 70.94 ± 4.45, 83.53 ± 6.19, 77.86 ± 5.33, 74.14 ± 5.20, 73.86 ± 5.73, 68.41 ± 5.16, 63.09 ± 5.24), SBP (mmHg: 129.17 ± 6.54, 121.25 ± 6.07, 116.24 ± 5.86, 137.48 ± 6.62, 129.53 ± 6.38, 123.07 ± 6.25, 125.65 ± 6.13, 117.48 ± 6.09, 108.17 ± 6.04), GLU level (mmol/L: 5.83 ± 0.36, 5.37 ± 0.29, 5.12 ± 0.26, 6.69 ± 0.34, 5.84 ± 0.30, 5.57 ± 0.27, 5.61 ± 0.32, 5.25 ± 0.31, 4.97 ± 0.28) of lidocaine group A and lidocaine group B were significantly lower than those of control group, the difference were statistically significant ( F=17.520, 25.755, 36.034, 41.028, 45.525, 74.330, 10.397, 49.756, 52.348, P < 0.05); among them, the DBP, SBP and GLU levels of lidocaine group A and lidocaine group B were lower than those of control group, and lidocaine group B was lower than lidocaine group A ( P < 0.05). The RS and VAS of lidocaine group A and lidocaine group B were significantly lower than those of control group, and Ramsay was higher than that of control group ( P < 0.05); and the RS and VAS of lidocaine group B were lower than those of lidocaine group A, the Ramsay was higher than that of lidocaine group A ( P < 0.05). The incidence of coughing, nausea and vomiting in lidocaine group A and lidocaine group B were lower than those in the control group ( P < 0.05); and there was no respiratory depression in the three groups. Conclusions:Thrity minutes after induction of anesthesia, continuous pumping of 2 mg/kg lidocaine can maintain blood pressure and GLU of patients undergoing general anesthesia for iodine-deficiency goiter, and effectively reduce restlessness, pain and adverse reactions during the recovery period. It is a satisfactory dose for thyroid surgery patients to wake up and comfortably.

AIM: To report a case of wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) treat with multiple transpupillary themotherapy (TTT) and choroidal neovascularization (CNV) disappeared but retinal pigment epithelial(PRE) and choroidal atrophy occurred with a low vision at the end point.METHODS: Clinical data including fundus hotographs, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), indocyanine angiography (ICGA) and optical coherence tomography(OCT) was reviewed.RESULTS: A 72-year-old man complained about blurred vision of his left eye and FFA revealed polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) in the macula. His left eye had stable vision of 0.1 for 6 years without any treatment of CNV. About 2 years later, his right eye presented a piece of CNV. During the period of 3 years, the lesion remained more (3×5 PD) and less (1×2PD) in size with remarkable exudates and bleeding, and 7 sessions of TTT were applied with 80-280mW, 2mm of spot, and 60 seconds exposure and with the interval of 3 months or more. The CNV lesion finally disappeared, but there left a white area in the macula and vision decreased from 0.3 to 0.04.CONCLUSION: Although CNV lesion can be eliminated by TTT, obvious atrophy of RPE cells and the choroids can happen and this may not be of help for patient vision. It suggests that the parameters of TTT will be lower than 120 mW/mm and limited less two sessions if applicable, especially for Asia people.

Objective To explore the treatment methods and clinical result with the flap combining peroneus longus muscle supplying with the nutrient vessels of sural nerve to repaire the chronic achilles tendon rupture with skin defect.Methods After anatomic investigating,Analyzing 6 cases.Excising peroneus lon- gus muscle combining with the foot external flap,supplying with the pediele of the nutrient vessels of sural nerve to repaire the chronic achilles tendon rupture with skin defect,among them,the size of flap was about 6.0 cm?5.5 cm～16.5 cm?11.0 cm,the defect length of achilles tendon 2.0～7.5 cm.Results All ca- ses observed 4 to 16 months,all eases skin and achilles tendon were survived completely,the flap skin appear- ence was good,none ulcer.1 cases part necrosis,1 eases rerupture,Both healed after changed dressings.Ac- cording to Arner-Lindholm criteria to test the efficacy the result were excellent in 3 patients,good in 2,poor in 1.Conclusion It is an ideal way using the flap combining peroneus logus muscle with the nutrient vessels of sural nerve repairing the chronic achilles tendon rupture with skin defect.The advantage is operting conven- iently,transferred adjaeently,repairing the skin and tendon defect simultaneously,healing fastly and anti-bac- teria strongly,biomeehanies property and function is similar to the heel,it can fit the heel and skin for repai- ring.

BACKGROUND:Compared with the normal intervertebral disk, the density of nerve fibers and number of nerve endings and neuropeptides appear to be more in the degenerated intervertebral disk. However, this phenomenon does not occur in the normal y aged disk.
OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the axonal growth and induction of a painful neuropeptide and substance P using rat dorsal root ganglion neurons and degenerated human disc cells in vitro.
METHODS:The human intervertebral discs were harvested from patients with discogenic low back pain and normal people. And extracelluar matrix extracted from human degenerative intervertebral discs was cultured with rat dorsal root ganglion neurons. The promotion of axonal growth and induction of substance P of dorsal root ganglion neurons in extracted medium were evaluated through morphology observation and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, respectively.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the normal group, the content of nerve growth factor in the degenerative group was significantly higher and the average length of neuritis was significantly longer in the experimental group (P<0.05). After intervention with anti-nerve growth factorβ, the average length of neuritis became remarkably shorter. The percentage of substance P-immunoreactive cells was significantly higher in the degenerative group compared with the normal group (P<0.001). Nerve growth factors that highly express in the extracellular matrix from the degenerative intervertebral dick can promote neurite outgrowth of dorsal root ganglion neurons and induce release of neuropeptides related to pain transmission.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of different processes ofBaijin Capsule to treatment of mice with chronic unpredictable stress-induced depression.Methods Chronic unpredictable stress was used to establish depression mice models. Experimental mice were divided into the following groups according to body mass: model group, positive medicine group, artware one (traditional process) high-dose and low-dose groups, and artware (refining process) two high-dose and low-dose groups. All medication groups were given relevant medicine for gavage. By detecting the two behavior indexes, immobility time of swimming and tail suspension of mice, the anti-depression effects of traditional process and refining process ofBaijin Capsule were investigated. By detecting autonomic activities and body mass, tested medicine was examined for function state of central excitation and changing animal body.Results The times for automatic activities ofBaijin Capsule in the model and artware (refining process) two high-dose and low-dose groups were (138.27±40.70)s, (100.01±34.75)s and (88.15±30.62)s, respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.01); the mice swimming immobility times in the model and artware (refining process) two low-dose groups were 668±19 and 705±24, respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.01); the mice tail suspension immobility times in model and artware (traditional process) one high-dose groups group were (28.14±1.25)g and (26.43±2.58)g, respectively, with statistical significance (P<0.05); the mice tail suspension immobility times in model and artware (refining process) two high-dose groups were (98.29±36.90)s and (87.54±30.05)s. Mice tail suspension immobility time in artware (refining process) two high-dose group decreased,without statistical significance.Conclusion Refining process ofBaijin Capsule can effectively be used to treat mice with chronic unpredictable stress-induced depression, and the efficacy is superior to the traditional process.

ObjectiveTo study the effect and clinical meaning and pathogenic of extinction on cerebral cortex lesion. MethodsTactile extinction to classical extinction test(simple stimuli)and modified Quality extinction test(QET)were used. ResultsThe positive rate of ex-tinction using modified QET was higher than that of simple stimuli; left cortex lesion could result in extinction both in the contralateral side andthe ipsilateral side;left frontal sites lesion caused ipsilateral extinction. Conclusion: The modified QET was more sensitive than simplestimuli; modified QET showed extinction has competiting and restricting effect at 2 different levels, the mechanism of extinction is correlatedto competition and adventage restraint of diplo-hand cerebral hemisphere and liaise correliation fiber of diplo-hand cerebral hemisphere; thehighesttthe positive rate of extinction was observed in left parietal lesions.
