Objective:To observe the histological character of distraction osteogenesis(DO) in the mandible of goat using an intraoral tooth-supported distraction device. Methods:8 goats (7-9 months of age) were divided into 4 groups with 2 goats per group. After a bilateral mandibular corticectomy between the second and third premolars, self-produced intraoral tooth-supported distraction devices were cemented. 5 days after operation, the distraction devices were begun to be activated 0.25 mm every 12 hours to advance the anterior segment 8 mm in 16 days. The animals of 32 days group were injected with tetracycline fluorescence labeing at 10 ml/kg once perweek from the beginning of DO.The animals were sacrificed on day 8,16,32 and 48 separately post activation, and tetracycline fluorescence labeling,HE staining and Mallory's 3-color staining were performed. Results:Tetracycline fluorescence labeling showed that there was green-yellow fluorescence labeling new bone within the distraction gap; HE and Mallory's trichrome staining showed that new bone gradually formed from bilateral sides, gradually blending and remodeling. The fiber bundles and newly formed trabeculas and various cells in early phrases showed to be orientation-directed along the axis of distraction force. Conclusion: New bone can be formed and regenerated along the axis of distraction force within the distraction gap.

Objective:To investigate the effects of strain force on t he expression of osteoclast differentiation factor(ODF) and osteoclasto-genesis i nhibitory factor(OCIF) in human periodontal ligament cells (HPDLCs). Met hods: HPDLCs were subjected to cyclic strain force for 0, 6, 12 and 24 h ours, mRNA expression of ODF and OCIF were determined by RT-PCR. Result s:After treatment of the cells for 0,6,12 and 24 hours the ODF/?-actio n values were 0.7280?0.0261,0.6831?0.0411,0.5801?0.2230 and 0.4572?0.0373( P0.05) respectively. Conclusion:Strain force may decrease the expression of ODF and increase the expression of OCIF.

AIM: To isolate three kinds of bufadienolides composition from Venenum bufonis in order to investigate their antitumor activity in vitro.METHODS: Alcohol extraction and isolation by Silica gel colume were employed in this study.Their antitumor activities in vitro were evaluated by MTT colorimetric method.RESULTS: With such methods, three kinds of bufadienolides, including Bufalin, cinobufagin, and resibufogenin with purity above 90% were prepared. The in-vitro results showed that three kinds of bufadienolides had prominent inhibition effect on human lung cancer A549 cells, human breast cancer MDA-MB-435 cells in the range of 0.001 ?g/mL ~ 100 ?g/mL.CONCLUSION: Isolation by Silica gel colume can be used to separate three kinds of bufadienolides from Venenum bufonis and its constituents has prominent anti-cancer effects.
5.Soft tissue cephalometric analysis of adults in Xi'an area with normal occlusion
Journal of Practical Stomatology 1995;0(04):-
Objective:To establish the cephalometric norms of soft tissue of adults in Xi'an area with normal occlusion.Methods:120 college students with normal occlusion(60 male and 60 female), aged from 18-22 years old in Xi'an city were selected.Lateral cephalometric film was taken by cephalometer for all the subjects at intercuspal occlusion. Then the films were traced on vitriolic paper, and the points were put into computer through digitizier. Statistic analysis were made and the data were compared with norms of adolescents already obtained. Results:Studied by Holdaway analysis,in the males FH-PgG' and Li-Pg' Ls of adults were bigger than those of adolescents, while Ss-Ls,Sn-H,Ls-Si and H-N'pg' were smaller(P0.05).Conclusion:The 3 sets of norms of soft tissue analysis obtained through this study may be applied as the norms of adults with normal occlusion.

[Summary] The basic data and serum targets of 3 349 residents were collected by multi stage stratified cluster random sampling and analyzed by correlation and regression analysis to access its association with cardiovascular risk factors. The result showed that morbidity of hyperuricemia was 18. 85% . The risk of hyperuricemia was raised in people with high triglycerides, high low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol ( LDL-C), low high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C), and low estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR). The people with hyperuricemia are usually accompanied with many cardiovascular risk factors.

Objective To study and estimate the effective dose of interventional employees in the common cerebralvascular, cardiovascular and liver interventional diagnosis and treatment. Methods The absorbed doses of tissue or organ of anthropomorphic phantom in these three procedures were estimated by the anthropomorphic phantom experiment. The effective doses were calculated by the tissue weight factor which was given by International Commission on Radiological Protection publication 103.Results The effective doses to high, medium and low group were 24.0, 9.7,6.8 μSv for cerebralvascular interventional diagnosis and treatment, and 36.3, 29.3, 17.8 μSv for cardiovascular interventional diagnosis and treatment, and 23.9, 11.3, 5.5 μ Sv for liver interventional diagnosis and treatment, respectively. Conclusions The effective doses of high, medium and low group of interventional employees in cardiovascular interventional procedure are higher than those of cerebralvascular and liver interventional procedures.

Objective: To study the effects of TNF, IL-1 and IL-6 on bone resorption in cultured calvaria of newborn mice. Methods: Calvaria of newborn mice was cultured and exposed to TNF, IL-1 or IL-6 at various dosages for 48 hours (treated grooups), or without the above agents(control). Calcium concentration in culture medium was determined by atomic absorption spectrum apparatus. The calcium concentration of the treated groups versus that of the control was used as the absorption index. Results: The absorption indexes in the medium of treated groups were 1.92~3. 14 or 1. 85 ~ 3. 34 when the bone was exposed to TNF or IL-6 at 10 ~ 320 ng/ml, those were 1.36 ~ 2.32 when the bone was exposed to IL-1 at 2~64 ng/ ml. Conclusion: TNF, IL-1 and IL-6 may stimulate bone resorption of calvaria in newborn mice.

At experimental time point 24,48 and 96 hours, the cells were counted and flow cytometry was employed to observe the proliferation of PDLFs. Results: 48 h and 96 h after stretch treatment the cells in experimental groups were significantly more than those in control groups respectively (P

Aim The effect triptolide(Tri) on local stimulation was observed .Methods Tri solution in different concentrations was applied in rabbits, rats and mice and the respenses were observed .Results 1.11 ,2.22 and 4.44 mmol?L-1 of Tri induced obvious erythema and edema on both intact skin and injured skin of rabbits. The pathological histology revealed the evident inflammation in scarfskin and corium 2.22 mmol?L-1 and 4.44 mmol?L-1 of triptolide significantly induced swelling of auricle in mice.0.55 mmol?L-1 and 1.11 mmol?L-1 of Tri significantly induced swelling of planta in rats. The response of inflammation reached to peak at the third day after hypodermic injection and lasted a week.Tri also significantly induced pain reaction and enhanced the permeability of capillary after local injection in mice. Conclusion Tri has a local stimulation effect and induces inflammation which can not be antagonized by its anti-inflammation effect.
