Chinese Journal of Current Advances in General Surgery 2017;20(3):178-181
Objective:To explore the establishment of an animal model of abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA),and elaborate the role of iNOS inhibitor in the smooth muscle apoptosis of abdominal aortio aneurysm in rats,to find a new theoretical basis for the clinical treatment of small drugs AAA.Methods:SD rats underwent intra-aortic elastase (25U/mL) perfusion to induce AAAs,the positive control group (30) and experiment group (30) use elastase perfusion while the negative control group(30) gives the saline perfusion. After operation the positive and negative control groups were treated with intraperitoneal injections of saline, experimental group injects the iNOS inhibitor Aminoguanidi hydrochloride;Postoperative second,7,and 14 days,The NO content in the serum and specimen of abdominal aortic aneurysm was detected by iNOS Immuno histochemistry and Terminal Transferase-mediated dUTP Nick End-Labeling (TUNEL) to evaluate distribution of smooth muscle apoptosis in abdominal aortic aneurysm. Results:Underwent intra-aortic elastase perfusion to induce AAAs have a high-success-rate.Rate of AAA formation in positive control group 10%,60%,80%,respectively.The treatment group was 0%,10%,20%,and the negative control group was not formed. The treatment group and the negative control group were lower than the positive control group, there were significant differences. In the positive control group,NO content increased gradually from second days,7 days to reach the peak and maintained at a higher level, the treatment group serum NO content was lower than the other two groups, there was significant difference (P<0.05),iNOS was strong expression in the positive control group,in the other two groups of mild expression.TUNEL results showed that a lot of apoptotic cells in the positive control group, after 7 days showed a significant increase trend,to observe the end (2 weeks) gradually increased.,The positive control group was higher than the negative control group and the negative control group, there was significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:iNOS inhibitors significantly decreased the content of NO in serum, reduced the apoptosis of smooth muscle cells, and inhibited the formation of abdominal aortic aneurysm. To provide theoretical basis for clinical application of iNOS inhibitors in the treatment and control of AAA.
2.Research progress of molecular biology in ground-glass opacity
China Oncology 2014;(3):235-240
With the low-dose spiral computed tomography (LDCT) widely applied in screening for early-stage lung cancers recently, positive rates of Ground-Glass Opacity (GGO) are gradually increased. Many professional researchers believe GGO has a close relationship with the early-stage lung adenocarcinoma, consequently, qualitative diagnosis and early treatment of GGO plays a signiifcant role in improving the diagnostic and survival rates of patients with early-stage lung cancer. Since relative imaging diagnosis, location methods and surgical approaches of GGO have been reported a lot by domestic and overseas researchers, our reviews would mainly focus on the diverse research progress of molecular biology of GGO in the past several years.

Qiao JIANG ; Lin LIN ; Tianhong WANG
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(04):-
Apoptosis is an organized suicide program which is evolutionally conserved from yeast to mammals. Research on yeast apoptosis has made rapid progress, though it remained unrecognized until recent years. Initial observations show that yeast can be induced to undergo apoptosis and a number of conserved pro- and antiapoptotic proteins have been identified in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Yeast has been validated as a model organism to investigate mechanisms of apoptosis. Recently, yeast has also been used as a model to study apoptosis-related disease, such as Huntington's disease and Parkinson′s disease. The feasibility, the advantages and the perspectives of yeast model for apoptosis research are reviewed.

Objective To investigate the refining and concentration of the Banlangen aqueous extractives using membrane separation technology. Methods The membrane separation process for refining and concentration Banlangen aqueous extractives was optimized by the quality of products and membrane operation parameters, and was tested through medium-scale trials. Results The selected G2+GM+RO2 membrane process was suitable. The inherent quality of the products obtained by membrane separation process was better than that obtained by traditional process. Conclusion G2+GM+RO2 membrane process is suitable to refine and concentrate Banlangen aqueous extractives, and it has technical conditions for industrial scale trials.

ObjectiveElectric stimulation of the central nervous system has been served as a treatment method for variety of neurological, psychiatric and sensory disorders.Despite considerable success in some applications, current stimulation techniques offer little control over which neuronal targets are activated by stimulation. This study aimed to present a new shape self-adaptive helix electrode for selective activation of optic nerve.MethodsThe geometric model of optic nerve and new helix electrode was elaborated with COMSOL Multiphysics. The new helix electrodes consist of silicone helix frame, which acted as support and insulation, and platinum contacts embedded within the frame. The activating function (AF) was introduced to characterize the stimulation effects, and the selectivity of activating optic nerve fascicle with new helix electrode was simulated by COMSOL Multiphysics, taking into account the variations of electrode contact locations.ResultsAssuming normalized AF threshold was 0.1 V/m2,the ratio difference of AF over threshold between new helix electrode and traditional electrode was only 1.2410%.With contacts in two ends of helix electrode closer to the middle contact, the small nerve fascicle was first activated and then the large one.ConclusionThe results show that the new helix electrodes have the same stimulation effects as that of traditional cuff electrodes. The new helix electrodes can selectively activate optic nerve fascicle with variations of electrode contact locations.

Objective To explore the role of anterior horn index (AHI) in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) outcome after intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) and the correlation factors of IVH in preterm infants. Methods We selected 55 preterm infants with IVH(Ⅱ-Ⅳ degree) confirmed by MRI as case group, and 55 preterm infants with normal MRI as control group, all the cases were admitted in neonatal medical wards in our hospital from January 2009 to September 2011.Then 30 infants of case group were scaned for the second time,to see if they had posthemorrhagic ventricular dilatation (PHVD) and compare the AHI with the last time MRI,and analysis the related factors associated with IVH in preterm infants. Results MRI results:9 infants had PHVD,and the AHI rised (0.36 ± 0.05 v s 0.46 ± 0.06,P < 0.01);21 infants didn't have PHVD,and the AHI decreased (0.31 ± 0.02 vs 0.30 ± 0.02,P < 0.01).Logistic regression analysis:vaginal delivery, use of pulmonary surfactant, mechanical ventrilator care were associated with IVH (P <0.05).Conclusion AHI can be used for judging PHVD in preterm infants with IVH.Preterm infants with IVH,especially grade Ⅱ should be monitored AHI.Vaginal delivery and mechanical ventrilator may be risk factor of IVH in preterm infants, while use of pulmonary surfactant may a protective factor of IVH.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic procedures, indications and efficacy of breast-conserving therapy (BCT). Methods BCT was carried out in 148 patients with breast carcinoma in this hospital from January 1996 to October 2003.There were 5 patients in stage 0,85 patients in stage Ⅰ,55 patients in stage Ⅱ,and 3 patients in stage Ⅲ.The surgical treatment was quadrantectomy or local wide excision of tumor, combined with axillary lymph node dissection.Routine adjuvant irradiation, chemotherapy and hormone therapy were given postoperatively. Results Pathological examinations of breast specimens found no positive margins.Follow-up observations for a median of 54 months (range,2 ~ 84 months) revealed a local recurrence rate of 2 7% ( 4/148 ;3 patients in breast and 1 patient in axillary fossa).Distant metastasis occurred in 5 patients (3 4%) and 3 of them died.Sites of metastasis included lung, liver, meninges and bone. The duration from surgery to distant metastasis was 6 ~ 43 months.Evaluation of cosmetic results in 108 patients who had received BCT for at least 12 months showed that good outcomes were achieved in 32 4% of the patients (35/108),fair outcomes,in 49 1% of the patients (53/108),and poor,in 18 5% (20/108). Conclusions For patients with early stage breast carcinoma, and part of those with local advanced breast cancer who have received neoadjuvant chemotherapy and gotten downstaging effects, the effects of BCT is satisfactory.Standard excision, postoperative irradiation and systemic combination treatment are crucial to BCT.Most patients receiving BCT have good cosmetic results.
