Objective To study the relationship between blood uric acid(BUA)level and oxidative stress in the elderly. Methods One hundred and eighteen healthy subjects who aged 60years and over were recruited.They were divided into 3 groups according to the serum uric acid level:(1)Control group:BUA 142-416 μmol/L;(2)Hyperuricemia group Ⅰ:BUA 417-470 μmol/L;(3)Hyperuricemia group Ⅱ:BUA＞470 μmol/L.Serum xanthine oxidase(XO)activity,superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity,total antioxidation capacity(TAOC)and peroxide concentration were examined. Results (1)No significant differences in TAOC[control group:(8.40±2.09),Hyperuricemia group Ⅰ:(8.13±1.92)and Hyperuricemia group Ⅱ:(7.95±1.54)U/ml,all P＞O.05)and in SOD activity[control group:(80.57±15.44),Hyperuricemia group Ⅰ:(81.37±11.92)and Hyperuricemia group Ⅱ:(87.45±11.38)U/ml,all P＞0.05)among the 3 groups were found.The serum peroxide level and XO activity were significantly higher in hyperuricemia group Ⅰ and Ⅱ[XO activity:(9.17±1.68) vs.(9.32±1.87)U/ml,all P＜0.05;serum peroxide:(149.5±25.7)vs.(150.7±23.1)μmol/L,all P＜0.05]than in group control[XO activity:(7.81±1.84),serum peroxide:(122.5±33.8)].(2)Multifactorial regression analysis showed TAOC was related to age,triglyceride and uric acid(all P＜0.05),XO activity was related to uric acid(P＜0.05)and peroxide concentration was related to age and uric acid(all P＜0.05). Conclusions This study supports the presence of the xanthine oxidase-related oxidative stress in the elderly with hyperuricemia.

AIM: To find out characteristic UV spectum of Isatis Root Granules for identification. METHODS:Spectral correlation coefficient was calculated and compared between Isatis Root Granules and Radix Isatidis. Correl function from the Ms-Excel were applied for spectral calculation of three commodities. RESULTS: Spectral correlation coefficient was good between Isatis Root Ganules and Radix Isatidis. CONCLUSION: Fingerprint of Isatis Root can identificate whether granules contained isatis or not and its content.

Objective To discuss the application effect of LVIS stent-assisted coil embolization in intracranial wide-neck small aneurysms.Methods The clinical data of 32 patients with intracranial wide-neck small aneurysms treated with stent-assisted coil embolization were analyzed retrospectively and evaluated.Results In 32 cases,the embolization grade was Raymond Ⅰ in 23 cases,Raymond grade Ⅱ in 7 cases,and Raymond Ⅲ in 2 cases.The successful embolization rate was 93.8%.No aneurysm was ruptured during embolization.One patient had thrombotic event in the surgery,but the occluded artery was recanalized after the treatment of immediate thrombolysis.Disorder of contralateral limb's activity and confusion were appeared in two patients after surgery.The symptoms improved by giving clopidogrel,aspirin and increasing the dosage of nimodipine.All the survival patients recovered well after 6 months of follow-up.No recurrence of aneurysm was confirmed by DSA and parent artery was patent.Conclusion Lvis stent is simple to be operated and has various models,suitable for most intracranial aneurysms,showing good performance.It suits embolization therapy in intracranial wide-neck small aneurysms,but the strong thrombosis should be valued.

OBJECTIVE To find out fulminate epidemiological features of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia in ICU and the ways to prevent and treat this nosocomial infection.METHODS The case histories from 4 inpatients who developed S.maltophilia infection in the same ward from Feb 5 to 16,2006,were studied retrospectively to find out the reasons of its onset and its treatment based on the sputum culture results.RESULTS The fulminate S.maltophilia was found from the rail of the patient bed,the connection part of water container of 2 respiratory machines of exhalation valve assembly and the liquid of ultrasonic aeriation machine.CONCLUSIONS The infection is a localized one.The main reasons of the infection are unthorough disinfection of respiratory machine and the contamination of medical treatment environment.Whenever the infection is found in the ward,the thorough disinfection needs immediately,and no new patient admitted.

Epidemiological data,clinical observation and animal experiments have shown that cold wave is closely associated with the onset of stroke.When a population with stroke etiology or risk factors is under pre-stroke state,they will have stroke under the influence of various inducing factors.Cold wave is the external factor that causes the body to enter the pre-stroke state and there are many possible mechanisms.The drug intervention of stroke-prone hypertensive rats at 1 week before the cold wave can reduce the occurrence of stroke during cold wave,suggesting that it is of great significance to conduct preventive intervention to the pre-stroke population before the cold wave coming.

Objective To discuss the application of early time window modified stereotaxic aspiration in converting operation therapy on the specified acute epidural hematoma.Methods 21 patients with the specified acute epidural hematoma were treated with early time window modified stereotaxic aspiration drainage,using YL-1 hematoma puncture needle with silica gel ventricular drainage tube.Results The successful rate of puncture was 100％.Hematoma was completely cleared in 19 cases.A small amount of epidural effusion was remained in 2 cases.1 case had concomitant rebleeding during the puncture,and shifted to craniotomy.Conclusion Early time window modified stereotaxic aspiration drainage is a minimally invasive,safe and effective treatment on the specified acute epidural hematoma when mastering the indications,timing and skills of puncture.

[Objective] To study the factors relative to the delayed diagnosis of spontaneous dual arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF) and its influence on the prognosis.[Methods] We included 102 continuous patients diagnosed DAVF in the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University,and analyzed the correlative factors and impact on outcome of diagnostic delay.Outcome was whether symptoms were non-improvement,improvement or restoration at discharge.[Results] Median delay from onset to diagnosis was 3 months (interquartile range,1 to 6).Compared with patients diagnosed carlier(diagnose time≤3 months),patients diagnosed later (diagnose time ＞ 3 months) had a lower frequency of headache (P =0.012),ptosis (P =0.035) and parenchymal lesions (P =0.001),a higher frequency of conjunctival congestion (P =0.004),tinnitus (P =0.021),visual dysfunction (P ＜ 0.001),isolated visual dysfunction (P =0.007) and delayed imaging scan (P ＜ 0.001),a higher frequency of endovascular treatment,and a lower frequency of improvement or restoration at discharge (P =0.033),in which patients with visual dysfunction had a lower frequency of improvement or restoration than those without visual dysfunction (P =0.023).Compared to those with visual dysfunction and other symptoms,patients with isolated visual dysfunction had a higher frequency of onset with paroxysmal blurring or blinding (P ＜ 0.001),two eyes involved (P ＜ 0.001) and more severe visual loss (P =0.057),a higher frequency of draining into transversesigmoid sinus (P ＜ 0.001) instead of cavernous sinus (P ＜ 0.001),and suffered intracranial hypertension all (median intracranial pressure,405 mmH2O;interquartile range,370 ～ 512 mmH2O).However,no statistically significant differences were found in the frequency of improvement or restoration at discharge between two groups (P =0.739).[Conclusion] Diagnostic delay was considerable in this cohort and was associated with outcome,especially in patients with visual dysfunction.

Objective To evaluate the influence factor of 'SF-FDG and 18F-FLT PET/CT for diagnosing pulmonary nodules.Methods 55 patients with pulmonary nodules were chosen as study target,include 33 male cases and 22 female cases,the age range from 17 to 82 years old.In all cases,28 cases had one pulmonary nodule,others had 2 or 3 pulmonary nodules,and the nodule size was 0.6-11.0 cm.18F-FDG and 18F-FLT PET/CT were performed on 55 patients.The relationship of SUV of 18F-FDG and 18F-FLT with sex,age,size and pathology of all pulmonary nodule patients were analyzed.Results The SUV of 18F-FDG and 18F-FLT had no statistics difference on sex,age and size(P>0.05),the SUV of 18F-FDG had no statistics difference on pathology of pulmonary nodule(P>0.05).Otherwise,the SUV of 18F-FLT had statistics difference on pathology of pulmonary nodule(P<0.05).Conclusion The pathology of pulmonary nodule was an important influence factor for SUV of 18F-FLT,and the ~SF-FLT PET/CT has the high diagnostic effectiveness for pulmonary nodules and this method will has great influence on the clinical management of pulmonary nodule patients.

Objective To compare the effects of different resuscitation pressure on lung function of rats with uncontrolled hemorrhagic shock.Methods Uncontrolled hemorrhagic shock model of rats was built.Sixty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly sent into six groups: NC group (the control group),NF group (shock but non-resuscitation),NS40,NS60 group (limited fluid resuscitation),NS80,NS100 group (large-volume fluid resuscitation).When the mean arterial pressure (MAP) reached between 35 mm Hg to 40 mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133kPa) resuscitation was begun,normal saline infusion was used to maintain the following desired endpoints.After the fluid resuscitation for one hour,rats of each fluid resuscitation group were given haemostasis and all-out fluid resuscitation,including blood infusion,to maintain the rats' MAP at 90 mm Hg.Results Findings showed that the blood loss in limited fluid resuscitation groups was significantly lower than that in large-volume fluid resuscitation groups at the situation of uncontrolled hemorrhagic shock,damage to lung tissue pathology and acidosis were significantly lower than those in large-volume fluid resuscitation groups.Nine rats in NS60 group survived 72 hours.Three rats in NS40 group survived 72 hours.No rat in NF group as well as in both NS80 and NS100 groups survived 72 hours.Conclusions Uncontrolled hem-orrhagic shock in trauma and different pressure of fluid resuscitation can cause lung injury to varying de-grees.Limited fluid resuscitation provide significant protective effects against such injuries.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of semis glucocorticoid combined with mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) for IgA nephropathy in patients after undergoing tonsillectomy. METHODS:207 patients diagnosed as having IgA nephropathy by renal biopsy were divided into operation group and control group:both groups received semis glucocorticoid combined with MMF. The patients were followed for 1 year to observe the changes of the proteinuria level,red blood cell count,blood pressure and renal function. RESULTS:After 3-month treatment,both group improved in urine red blood cell count and urine protein level,and the operation group had a better improvement than in the control group(P
