Journal of Chinese Physician 2016;18(11):1758-1760
Sleep disordered breathing (SDB) is common, especially the obstructive sleep apnea, and the severity increases as pregnancy progresses. The review identifies the risk factors, possible mechanisms and clinical manifestations for sleep disordered breathing in pregnancy through investigating pregnant women, approaches the relationship between sleep disordered breathing in pregnant women and the complications of the mother and fetus, especially between the obstructive sleep apnea and hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy or gestational diabetes mellitus, and the treatment of sleep disordered breathing in pregnancy.

Herald of Medicine 2014;(6):752-754
Objective To evaluate the effect of atorvastatin on human carotid plaque by high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance imaging(MRI 3. 0T). Methods Forty patients with carotid artery plaque were treated with atorvastatin at the dose of 20 mg daily for one year. Changes of the artery plaques were observed by MRI,and the levels of blood lipoproteins and C reactive protein( hs-CRP)were detected. Results After the treatment with atorvastatin for 6 months and 1 year, the number and average thickness of plaques were reduced. One year after the treatment, average thickness of stable plaques dropped from (2. 41±0. 54)mm to(2. 17±0. 49)mm,and the size of the unstable plaques decreased from(2. 38±0. 89)mm to(2. 01± 0. 32)mm,with significant differences(P﹤0. 05). The levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and Hs-CRP were significantly decreased(P﹤0. 05)and the level of HDL-C was increased. Conclusion High resolution nuclear magnetic resonance( MRI3. 0T)can clearly display the components of the atherosclerotic plaque and the degree of artery stenosis. Atorvastatin exerts a significant effect on carotid plaque by promoting the regression of the carotid atherosclerosis plaque.

Chinese Journal of Health Management 2010;04(6):352-354
Objective To investigate unhealthy behaviors and their influence on community residents, and to evaluate the effectiveness of modified behaviors. Methods A total of 1230 community residents were randomly enrolled from 8 of 16 communities in Yantian District of Shenzhen City. The behavior information of the participants was collected through face-to-face interviews. A systematic intervention was carried out to the target residents, and the outcomes were evaluated. Results The awareness of healthy behaviors was improved and unhealthy behaviors (i. e. lack of physical activity,over-intake of salt, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, irregular health check-up, long-time watching TV) were significantly reduced ( P < 0. 05 ). Conclusions Systematic intervention could be an effective way to reduce unhealthy behaviors of community residents.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2008;10(6):732-734
Objective To summarize the experience in the treatment of cardiac and thoracic aortic injury. Methods 30 patients with cardiac and thoracic aortic injury from 1996 to 2007 are retrospectively studied, including the diagnosis, preoperative preparation, main points of the operation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Results 24 patients were completely cured, having no residual in the follow-up periods.4 patients with multiple wound died of complication.2 patients with thoracic aortic injury died in the operation. Conclusion Prompt diagnosis after injury, fast preoperative preparation, precise operative approach and technique, effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation and refraining from omitting associated injury are the key points to the salvage of cardiac and thoracic aortic injury.

Chinese Journal of Trauma 2017;33(5):404-407
Objective To investigate the effect of ulnar nerve with or without transposition during open reduction and internal fixation of distal humerus fractures. Methods A retrospective case control study was made on 74 cases receiving open reduction and internal fixation of distal humerus fractures between January 2008 and December 2015.There were 28 males and 46 females, with a mean age of 63.2 years (range,32-83 years).AO fracture classification was A2 type in seven cases,A3 type in four,C1 type in 14,C2 type in 28 and C3 type in 21.According to the intraoperative management of the ulnar nerve, the patients were divided into transposition group (n =43) and non-transposition group (n =31).Two groups were compared with respect to operation time,Mayo elbow performance score (MEPS),incidence of ulnar neuritis and postoperative complications. Results Follow-up lasted for 6-24 months (mean,11.7 months).Operation time differed significantly between transposition group [(110.9 ± 20.8) minutes] and non-transposition group [(95.6 ± 18.9) minutes] (P < 0.05).MEPS in transposition group was excellent in 15 cases, good in 20,fair in six and poor in two.MEPS in non-transposition group was excellent in 10 cases, good in 15,fair in five and poor in one, with the same excellence rate of 81% in comparison with transposition group (P > 0.05).Incidence of ulnar neuritis showed no significant difference between transposition group (9%,4/43) and non-transposition group (7%,2/31) (P >0.05).Postoperatively,one case of superficial wound infection and two delayed healing were noted in transposition group;one case of superficial wound infection and one delayed healing were noted in non-transposition group. There was no significant difference in incidence of postoperative complications between groups (P >0.05).Conclusions Ulnar nerve with or without transposition can both achieve satisfactory clinical effect during open reduction and internal fixation of distal humerus fractures. But non-transposition group is associated with shorter operation time without increasing the incidence of ulnar neuritis.

Military Medical Sciences 2014;(3):189-192,202
Objective To confirm the interaction betweem NLK and Smad 4 and to explore the effect of NLK on the function of Smad4.Methods Co-immunoprecipitation and GST Pull-down were used to detect the interaction between NLK and Smad4.GST Pull-down was used to map the domain through which Smad 4 interacts with NLK.Luciferase reporter gene assay was used to study the effect of NLK and NLK (KM), the NLK mutant lacking kinase activity , on the transcrip-tion activity of Smad4.In vivo phosphorylation assay was used to detect whether NLK phosphorylated Smad 4 or not. Results The data of Co-immunoprecipitation and GST Pull-down showed that NLK interacted with Smad 4 in vivo and in vitro. The result of GST Pull-down showed that Smad4 interacted with NLK via MH2 domain. The results of luciferase reporter gene assay indicated that both NLK and NLK (KM) inhibited the transcription activity of Smad4.The result of in vivo phospho-rylation assay showed that NLK could not phosphorylate Smad 4 in vivo. Conclusion NLK interacts with Smad4 and inhibits the transcription activity of Smad 4 independent of the kinase activity of NLK .The mechanism through which NLK negatively regulates the transcription of Smad 4 requires further research .

Objective: To investigate the effect and mechanism of Astragalus Injection (Radix Astragali) on acute murine myocarditis caused by Coxsackievirus B 3. Methods: Acute viral myocarditis was induced in 24 Balb/c mice by injection of Coxsackievirus B 3m (CVB 3m ) intraperitoneally. Half of the mice were administered Astragalus Injection(10g/kg?d). Heart and blood samples were obtained from all mice on the 8th day after CVB 3m infection for histopathological study, detection of myocardial perforin expression by reverse transcription polymerase chain reacton(RT PCR) and measurement of serum CK MB level, respectively. Results: (1) Astragalus treated mice showed a significant reduction in myocardial lesion compared with that in untreated mice. (2) Myocardial perforin expression by semi quantitative RT PCR in Astragalus treated mice was much lower than that in controls(1.10?0.07 vs 1.31?0.12, P
