1.Comparison of Corneal Injury between Phaco-emulsification and Extracapsular Lens Removal in Rabbits
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(05):-
40 rabbits are used to study the effects of phaco-emulsification and extracap-sular lens removal or; corneal endothelial cells and corneal thickness. With the specular microscope, the preoperative cell morphology, cell density and thickness of cornea are revealed. The endothelial cell counts decrease 16% (at central) and 14% (at the periphery) after the surgery with phaco-emulsification and 25% (central) and 22% (periphery) with extracapsular lens removal. Corneal thickness increases in both groups. Scanning electron microscopy shows some alterations in morphology of endothelial cell injury significantly different in the 2 groups. According to these results the causes of corneal thickness increasing and mechanism of endothelial cell injury are approached and a new procedure preventing the cell injury and decreasing cornea edema in both groups is designed.
2.Research advances of the effect of commonly used drugs on dendritic cell function and HIV infection
Chinese Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases 2017;10(1):63-67
Dendritic cells (DCs)can capture HIV from the mucosal site and carry it to the draining lymph nodes to promote CD4 + T cell infection.DC-SIGN(CD209)plays a vital role during this process. Heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine are the most abused drugs used by drug abusers, which can increase the opportunities of HIV infection.Drugs acting on the corresponding receptors activate the downstream signaling pathway and regulate the expression of DC-SIGN on the surface of DCs,weakening the inhibited effects of immune cells on HIV and promoting HIV infection in many aspects.Given the multiplex effects of drugs on immune function, this article reviews the relationship between abused drugs,DCs and HIV infection, particularly in the signal pathway on immune modulation.

Journal of International Oncology 2011;38(10):723-725
Oncolytic viruses,a novel class of virus vectors, which selectively replicate only in tumor cells, have excellent tumor targeting and good tansfection efficiency. Many oncolytic viruses have apparent curative effect when administered intratumorally. However, the host immune system remains a critical obstacle to systemic administration of virotherapeutics. It appears that cell-based delivery of oncolytic viruses could offer one solution to this critical problem, which provides a new platform to the biological therapy of cancer.

Journal of Integrative Medicine 2007;5(4):412-5
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the molecular mechanism of Huanglian Jiedu Decoction (HLJDD), a traditional Chinese compound herbal medicine, in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) by observing its effects on glucose transporter 4 (GLUT4) protein expression and translocation in adipose and skeletal muscle tissues of rats with T2DM. METHODS: T2DM was induced in rats by intravenous injection of a small dose of streptozotocin (STZ, 30 mg/kg) plus high fat and high caloric laboratory chow. Then animals were divided into untreated group, aspirin-treated group and HLJDD-treated group. Normal rats fed with common chow were designated as normal control group. Ten weeks later, the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was performed in all animals, and the changes of murine body weight, fasting blood glucose (FBG), fasting serum insulin (FINS) and the expression of GLUT4 protein in skeletal muscle and adipose tissues before and after insulin treatment were routinely determined. RESULTS: Compared with the untreated group, the result of OGTT of HLJDD-treated group was improved. The levels of the body weight and FBG were decreased, while the GLUT4 protein expression and translocation were elevated obviously. CONCLUSION: It is suggested by the present results that the therapeutic effects of HLJDD on T2DM might be related to its ability of increasing GLUT4 protein expression and translocation in adipose and skeletal muscle tissues of T2DM rats.

Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2015;37(7):522-526
Objective To explore the effectiveness of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) combined with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) in treating cerebral infarction. Methods Totally 120 patients with cerebral infarction were randomly divided into a control group,a treatment group A and a treatment group B,40 cases in each group. The control group was given conventional treatment, the treatment group A was treated by HBO on the basis of conventional therapy, and the treatment group B was treated by HBO combined with TMS,10 d for a period of treatment. Before and after 2 courses of treatment, all patients' neurological defect was evaluated using National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).Their central motor conduction time (CMCT) and the expression of brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) were also assessed. Results After treatment, the average NIHSS score and effective rate of the treatment group B was (7.35 ± 1.98) and 92.5% respectively, significantly better than the other two groups. Moreover, the average BDNF content [(4.96 ± 1.20) ng/ml] and NGF content [(152.36 ± 18.01)pg/ml] of the treatment group B after treatment were significantly better than before treatment, and those of the other two groups after treatment. Conclusion TMS combined with HBO is effective in treating cerebral infarction. This may relate to its strengthening the expression of neurotropic factors.

Objective To compare CT perfusion changes of patients 1 month after living liver transplantation with healthy volunteers. Methods Twenty perioperative patients without complications and 25 healthy volunteers underwent dynamic multi-slice CT scan. On each targeted slice, liver was divided into 3 regions of interest (ROI) according to hepatic venous drainage, i.e. anterior segment area drained by middle hepatic veins (MHV) which was most likely congested, risk area drained by both MHV and RHV which was posterior to anterior segment, reference area drained by RHV. Perfusion parameters and relative perfusion difference were calculated. Results The relative perfusion differences of anterior segment and risk area in study group were as follows: BF 44.56±43.19 vs 25.41±27.49 [ml/(min〖DK〗·100 g)]; BV 3.91±2.45 vs 2.15±1.86(ml/100 g); PVP 41.50±39.15 vs 22.66±23.82 [ml/(min·100 g)]. Significant differences of RPDs of BF, BV and PVP were found in anterior segment (P<0.0001) and risk area (P<0.01) compared with control group. Conclusion In perioperative period, there are hemodynamic differences in hepatic segments drained by RHV and MHV. BF, BV, PVP of anterior segment decreases obviously.

Chinese Journal of Ocular Fundus Diseases 2011;27(4):350-352
Objective To evaluate quantification of metamorphopsia in eyes with idiopathic macular hole (IMH) before and after surgical treatment, and investigate its relationship between postoperative visual acuity, the macular hole index (MHI), and the macular hole prognostic factor (HPF). Methods Thirty eyes of 30 patients, who underwent successful vitrectomy and internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling for IMH and were followed up more than 6 months, were included in the study. The uncorrected visual acuity of the fellow eyes was better than 20/25 and there was no metamorphopsia in that eye. The macular hole closure was confirmed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans. Metamorphopsia was evaluated by metamorphopsia-charts (M-chart). OCT, best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and metamorphopsia were obtained before and after surgery. Vertical (MV) and horizontal (MH) metamorphopsia, macular hole index (MHI, the ratio of the height to the diameter of the base) , and macular hole prognostic factor (HPF,the ratio of the height to the minimum diameter) were measured. The metamorphopsia score was the average value of MV and MH. SPSS 16. 0 statistical analysis software was used for data analysis. Results Preoperative MV and MH were (1.82±0.04)° and (1.81±0.04)°, respectively. Six months after surgery, the MV and MH were (0.17±0.03)° and (0.11±0.03)° respectively. There was significant difference between pre- and post-operative metamorphopsia results (Z=-0.788, P<0.05). The metamorphopsia score at 6 months after surgery were positively correlated with the value of the postoperative BCVA (LogMAR) (r=0.540, P=0.004) and negatively correlated with the values of preoperative MHI and HPF (r=-0.676,-0.518; P<0.05). Conclusions Successful vitrectomy and ILM peeling can improve metamorphopsia of IMH. Postoperative metamorphopsia was correlated with the postoperative BCVA and the preoperative macular hole contour.
