The subjects examined were 398athletes. The method used included both questions and clinical examination. The differences of the data obtained all underwent Chi Square (X~2) test. Result of the investigation showed: the site of the highest incidence of injury was the ankle, 38.4%; the nextwas the knee, 26. 1%; the foot, 15. 3%; low back, 10. 3%; the thigh, 6. 8%; Tendo Achilles, 6. 5%; tibia, 4. 5%and fibula, 2. 3%. The incidence was relatively higher wbenever the injury had any relation with the shape ofthe knee (genu valgum, genu recurvatum), hallux Yalgus, c avus and callus and tarsal navicular. The differencesamong incidences of injury related with the shape of the lower limbs are of important statistical significance. As for the incidence of abnormal shape of limbs, genu valgum and recurvatum are outstanding in female wbilegenu varum occurs much more in male. This article is emphasized on the analysis of the mechanism of the influence of limb shape on injury;and it is thought that it is mainly due to changes in the line of force. In the authors' opinion, in the choiceof high level athletes, those who have such abnormal anatomy of their limbs should not be selected.

Objective To observe the effects and the mechanism of the thoracic pressure variation on the velocity of tricuspid regurgitation in quiet respiration, to accurately estimate the pulmonary artery systolic pressure, and to verify the new proposed mechanism of respiration effects on hemodynamics using echocardiography. Methods Continuous-wave Doppler spectra of tricuspid regurgitation were recorded with Sequoia 512 in 50 patients who had stable tricuspid regurgitation. Electrocardiogram and respiratory tracing were recorded simultaneously. The velocities and the pressure gradients were recorded during different respiration phases for analyzing. Results Respiration reliably affected on tricuspid regurgitant velocity. There were three patterns of manifestation:①The velocity increased in the inspiratory phase. ②The velocity decreased in the inspiratory phase. ③The velocity changed randomly. Conclusions Thoracic pressure variations had definite effects on the velocity of tricuspid regurgitation and tricuspid gradient. This research indicated that to obtain accurate and reliable Doppler echocardiographic measurement of the pulmonary artery systolic pressure, the measurement should be at the time between inspiration and expiration.

Objective To detect the virucidal efficacy of cross linked starch iodine (CSI) and its influence factors in solution and to observe the morphological changes of CSI after disinfection. Methods Sindbis virus (Sindbis) and poliovirus (polio) were used as the test viruses, and different concentrations of plasm as the organic solvent. The virucidal efficacy of CSI was observed by means of cell infection test. The morphological changes of CSI particles after disinfection were observed by scanning electron microscopy. Results CSI had the same virucidal effect on Sindbis and polio viruses in solution. After treatment with CSI at a dose of 50-100 mg/ml for 30-60 min, the viruses were inactivated by 5-7 logs TCID 50 . The virucidal efficacy of CSI enhanced in dose and time dependent manners. CSI could inactivate the viruses in D hanks solution with 10% plasma or in plasma by 2-5 logs TCID 50 and 2-3 logs TCID 50 , respectively. Electron microscopy showed that the CSI was in the form of round and oval particles with the diameter of about 100 ?m. After disinfection, the particle surface became more lubricious, but no morphological changes were observed. Conclusion CSI has effective virucidal effect on envelope viruses and non envelope viruses in solution free of organic substances, but the virucidal efficacy can be greatly affected by organic substances. There is no morphological change of CSI particles after disinfection.
