Objective:To explore influence of holistic nursing on serum levels of N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) , high sensitive cardiac troponin T (hs‐cTnT ) and quality of life in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) .Methods:A total of 108 CHF patients treated in our hospital from Jan 2015 to May 2016 were randomly and e‐qually divided into routine nursing group and holistic nursing group (received holistic nursing based on routine nursing group) .Serum levels of NT‐proBNP ,hs‐cTnT and score of Chinese questionnaire of quality of life in patients with cardio‐vascular disease (CQQC) were compared between two groups before and after nursing .Results:There were no significant difference in serum levels of NT‐proBNP and hs‐cTnT and CQQC score between two groups before nursing , P>0.05 all . Compared with before nursing ,after nursing ,there were significant reductions in serum levels of NT‐proBNP and hs‐cTnT , and significant rise in CQQC score in holistic nursing group , P<0.01 all .Compared with routine nursing group after nurs‐ing ,there were significant reductions in serum levels of NT‐proBNP [(2.65 ± 0.53)μg/L vs .(2.07 ± 0.52)μg/L] and hs‐cTnT [ (0.42 ± 0.12)μg/L vs .(0.31 ± 0.09)μg/L] ,and significant rise in CQQC score [ (52.87 ± 9.56) scores vs . (57.43 ± 10.20) scores] in holistic nursing group ,P<0.05 or <0.01. Conclusion:Holistic nursing contributes to reducing serum levels of NT‐proBNP and hs‐cTnT , it can improve cardiac function and quality of life in patients with chronic heart failure ,which is worth clinical application and extending .

Objective To reach digitization of medical imaging equipment,the medical equipments were improved that have not yet equipped with digital image processing workstation system. Methods Under the premise of ensuring the stability,convenience and better cost-effective of medical image processing workstation system,the appropriate medical imaging workstation system software and hardware were selected and configured. Results Through transformation,configuration and integration,the new function of original equipment has been achieved for the desired results. Conclusion The use of the system about one year proves well economic effect and good society benefit.

BACKGROUND: Previous researches indicate that ADp14ARF transfecting positive tumor cell line of p53 can inhibit the proliferation; in addition, the inhibitory effect is superior to transfection negative tumor cell line of p53. Whether simultaneous transfection of p14ARF and p53 genes can increase expression and accumulation of p53 and accelerate apoptosis of tumor cells needs further studies.OBJECTIVE: To construct double plasmid expression vector plRES-p14ARF-p53 by using gene engineering so as to observe the inhibitory effect on proliferation of osteogenic sarcoma cells.DESIGN: Randomized controlled observation.SETTING: Department of Orthopaedics, Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out in the Public Laboratory Platform, Immune Researching Room, Basic Medical College, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2005 to October 2006. Human osteogenic sarcoma MG-63 cells were provided by Cell Laboratory, Immune Researching Room, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. plRES-p53 plasmid and plRES vector containing p53total-length gene order were provided by Wuhan Jingsai Biology Company.METHODS: Based on gene engineering, p14DNA (0.5 kb) was amplified from cultured L02 cells of normal human hepatic cells into plRES vector. Recombinant plasmid plRES-p14ARF-p53 was determined with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and restriction enzyme and transfected into human osteogenic sarcoma MG-63 cells through mediation of liposome to screen positive clones. Otherwise, cells were divided into three groups, including blank control group (MG-63cells), blank vector control group (stably transfecting plRES-neo cells) and p14ARF-p53 group (stably transfecting plRES-p14ARF-p53 cells). ① DNA content and cycle of tumor cells were measured by using flow cytometry before and after transfection. ② Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot were used to detect quantitative and semi-quantitative expression of p53 and p14ARF protein in tumor cells after stable transfection. ③Thiazole blue chromatometry and growth curve were used to observe proliferation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① DNA content and cycle of osteogenic sarcoma cells; ② expressions of p53 and p14ARF protein in tumor cells; ③ proliferation.RESULTS: Double plasmid expression vector plRES-p14ARF-p53 was constructed successfully. ① DNA content and cycle of osteogenic sarcoma cells: Flow cytometry demonstrated that tumor cells mainly stayed in G1 phase after transfection. ② Protein expression: RT-PCR and Western blot indicated that p14ARF and p53 gene independently expressed in target cell mRNA and protein, respectively. ③ Cell growth: At 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours after MG-63 transfection, inhibitory rates of tumor cells were 33.43%, 69.37%, 66.19% and 75.26%, respectively, which was significant difference as compared with blank vector control group (P ＜ 0.01).CONCLUSION: Wild p53 and p14ARF can synergistically inhibit the proliferation and accelerate the apoptosis of osteogenic sarcoma cells.

AIM: To study the effect of moderate hypothermia on immature rats with hypoxic-ischimic brain damage (HIBD). METHODS: The rats with HIBD were divided into normothermic recovered group (IN) and moderate-hypothermic recovered group (IH). Sham-operated rat pups were normothermic control group (NC) and moderate-hypothermic control group (HC). 0, 2, 6, 24, 48, 72 h after the end of hypoxic-ischemic (HI) insult, the brain was homogenized for measuring glucose and ATP, brain mitochondria was extracted for SDH activity, complex II activity and the capacity of ATP synthesization. RESULTS: In IN group, the brain glucose was significantly lower at 0 h, and recovered as normal at 2 h. The brain ATP and brain-mitochondrial SDH activities were firstly decreased at 2 h, 6 h and then recovered gradually, it was at it's peak value at 72 h. Brain-mitochondrial complex II activity and the capacity of ATP synthesis were recovered at 2 h, but they decreased again at 6 h and came to normal level at 72 h. In moderate-hypothermic group, all the indexes were significantly higher at all the time point than that in IN groups. CONCLUSION: Moderate hypothermia inhibits the decrease in the mitochondrial SDH activity, mitochondrial complex II activity and the capacity of ATP synthesis, increases the brain ATP concentration, improves the energy metabolism, and then protects the brain tissue. An ultrastructural analysis of distal nephron has been investigated using morphometric method for rats with hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. The cells analysed were distal convoluted tubule cells (DCT cells), distal straight tubule cells (DST cells), intercalated cells (I cells) and principal cells (P cells) of collecting duct. The cells were sampled from superficial cortex. The results revealed that in DCT, DST and P cells the profile area of cells, the surface density of plasma membrane (Sv), the boundary length of cell surface [B(A)], the volume density (Vv) of mitochondria, and the length of microvilli were significantly decreased in the rat with hypothyroidism. However, in the rat with hyperthyroidism there were an obvious increase of profile area of cell and Vv of mitochondria in I cells. The results suggest that thyroid hormone is an important factor for maintaining the normal cellular structure in the distal nephron. The morphometry shows that the changes of DCT, DST and P cells are distinct in the rat with hypothyroidism, and the ultrastructural changes of I cell are obvious in the rat with hyperthyroidism.

Objective To determine the impact of smoking on the clinical outcomes in male patients with chronic schizophrenia and explore management strategies for the smoking behavior of inpatients with chronic schizophrenia. Methods Ninety-nine male inpatients with chronic schizophrenia including 53 smokers and 46 non-smokers were enrolled in the study. The patients' psychotic conditions were evaluated by using Positive and Negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS) and Nurses Observation Scale for In-patient Evaluation (NOSIE). Results Compared with non-smokers, the total score and negative sub-score of PANSS as well as psychotic, tardive, total passive factor scores of NOSIE in smokers were significantly lower (P<0.05) .while the social function, social interest, total positive factor scores of NOSIE in smokers were significantly higher (P<0.05). However, the cigarette smoking dose was not correlated with the scores of PANSS and NOSIE (P>0.05). Conclusions Smoking may be a self-treatment behavior for patients with chronic schizophrenia. Furthermore, "divert" may be beneficial for the recovery.

Objective To evaluate the reliability of mannitol for fluid responsiveness test in the patients undergoing intracranial surgery.Methods Sixty-two ASA physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients,aged 18-64 yr,with body mass index of 18-25 kg/m2,scheduled for elective intracranial surgery,were enrolled in the study.The patients were mechanically ventilated after induction of anesthesia.The radial artery and central vein were cannulated,and FloTracTM/VigileoTM system was connected for stroke volume variation monitoring.Before infusion of mannitol,effective circulating blood volume was confirmed according to stroke volume variation.20％ mannitol 250 ml was infused over 20 min starting from onset of craniotomy.The fluid responsiveness test was recorded at the end of mannitol infusion.Results The sensitivity of fluid responsiveness test was 43％,and the specificity of fluid responsiveness test was 44％.Conclusion Mannitol can not be used for fluid responsiveness test in the patients undergoing intracranial surgery.

Objective To investigate the impact of percutaneous coronary interventional (PCI) on the inflammatory indices and postoperative vascular restenosis.Methods This study involved 90 patients undergoing PCI procedures for Coronary artery disease (CAD) compromising a single coronary artery.Fourty healthy individuals with normal findings by coronary angiography were selected as the control group.Before and after PCI or coronary angiography,plasma hs-CRP and IL-6 were measured in all the subjects by immunonephelometry and enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA),respectively.Results (1) In the CAD patients,the plasma hs-CRP level was significantly elevated after PCI as compared with the preoperative level((18.69 ±5.14) mg/L vs (14.45 ± 4.32) mg/L,t =1.42,P ＜ 0.01),whereas in the control group,the hs-CRP level underwent no significant changes after coronary angiography((13.59 ±5.99) mg/L vs(12.46 ±5.35) mg/L,t =1.25,P ＞ 0.05).(2) PCI procedures also resulted in significant elevation of plasma IL-6 level in the CAD patients((1.87±0.45) pg/L vs (1.35 ±0.39) pg/L,t =1.33,P＜0.01),but in the control group,IL-6 showed no significant variation after coronary angiography ((1.32 ± 0.41) pg/L vs (1.21 ± 0.38)pg/L,t =1.16,P ＞ 0.05).We observed significant difference of hs-CRP and IL-6 levels between the CAD patient group and the control group (t =4.96,6.61 respectively,P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion Plasma hs-CRP and IL-6 are elevated in CAD patients following PCI procedures.But the roles of elevated hs-CRP and IL-6 in the vascular restenosis following the procedures need further investigation.
