Objective To investigate the correlation analysis of smoking on early outcomes in patients with coronary artery bypass graft surgery. Methods 489 patients undergoing CABG in our hospital from January 2010 to December 2012 were analyzed retrospectively. Subjects were divided into smoking group (n = 276), non-smoking group (n = 213). According to the condition of patients will quit smoking, smoking group was divided into two subgroups: quit-smoking group (n=81), not quit-smoking group (n=195). Results BMI, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, myocardial infarction, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease history were significantly higher than that of non-smoking group, the average age of left ventricular ejection fraction was significantly lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). But there were no significant differences between sub groups (P > 0.05). If the COPD patients were excluded from the research, postoperative pulmonary complications, the time of mechanical ventilation of non-smoking groups was significantly lower than the smoking group; pulmonary complications , ventilation time of quit-smoking subgroups was significantly lower than not quit-smoking group (P < 0.05). Multivariate Logistic analysis showed that the period of hospitalization in patients with pulmonary complications is related with smoking status (P<0.05). Conclusions Smoking may increase the effect of pulmonary complications and postoperative mechanical ventilation period. Patients with CABG should be encouraged to stop smoking as soon as possible, so as to reduce the postoperative complications.

Objective To observe the influence of Bailong Jieyu Granules on quality of life (QOL) of patients with cancer-ralated depression. Methods A prospective and self-control clinical trial was carried out. Sixty seven patients with cancer-ralated depression were chosen and treated with Bailong Jieyu Granules. EORTC QLQ-C30 3.0 scores of patients were assessed before and after the treatment. A fructosamine (DMF) method for the estimation of Serum glycosylated LDL (GLDL) is reported. The glycosylated rate of LDL (K value) is equal to GLDL/LDL. It is concluded that fructosamine method for the estimation of GLDL and K value is more convenient, fast, and has a high specificity, and is not interfered by glutathione, other reducing substances with low melecular weight, and the variation of serum proteins. GLDL and K value are thus suggested to be a better indicator for the diagnosis and evaluation of treatment in diabetes mellitus than the glycosylated serum total proteins.

Abstract Objective:To explore antitumor effect of NDV HN. Methods: pIRHN nucleic acid vaccin was constructed and was transfectedto Hela cells. Westem blot was used to analyssize the expression of pIRHN nucleic acid vaccine in eukarytic cell. The mode of cell death was de-tected by fluorescence microscope, gel electrophoresis and TUNEL assay. The effect of pIRHN nucleic acid vaccine on the contents of siaha acidin the Hela cell was examined. Results: pIRHN nucleic acid vaccine could be expressed in the eukarytic cell. pIRHN could induced apoptosisafter HeLa cells were transfected. The effect of antitumor responses of pIRHN was correlated with the contents of sialic acid in tumor cells. Con-clusion: The reults of our experiment will provide the theory evidence for the anti tumor mechamism of NDV.

Objective:To study the expressions of Skp2 and P27 in the normal and tumor tissues of salivary glands,and then to evaluate their significance in the development and progression of salivary tumor.Methods:SP immunohistochemical method was used to evaluate the expression of Skp2 and P27 in the normal and tumor tissues of salivary glands. Results:The rates of Skp2 and P27 expression were neither significantly different between polymorphic adenoma and basal cell adenomas, nor significantly different between adenoid cystic carcinoma and mucoepidemoid carcinoma. The rates of Skp2 positive were significantly different between normal salivary glands and benign salivary tumor, as well as between normal salivary glands and malignant salivary tumor. The rates of Skp2 and P27 positive were significantly different between normal salivary glands and malignant salivary tumor.Conclusion:Skp2 overexpression and decreased expression of P27 might play an important role in the development and progression of salivary tumor, overexpression of Skp2 protein may lead to increase of P27 degradation.

To measure carotid intima media thickness(IMT) and to investigate the relationship between carotid atherosclerosis and some major risk factors in elder uremic patients, a cross sectional study was carried out in 30unselected elder uremic patients (16on hemodialysis). Fasting blood sampling for serum lipids, BUN, creatinine, hemoglobin, and echo colour Doppler evaluation of common carotid arteries and heart were performed , BP was measured in all patients (before dialysis day in hemodialysis patients). Relationship between the results and miltifactoral regression analysis were also carried out. 17 patients(56 6%)had carotid IMTwhile 12 dialysis patients(75%) had it. 6patients (20%) had at least one plaque. A significant correlation was found in internal diameter of carotid arteries, IMT and blood vessel resistance between left and right carotid arteries. Carotid IMT had a close relationship with serum BUN, creatinine, cholesterol, systolic BP and heart ejection fraction. In multiple regression models, serum creatinine and cholesterol was significant and an independent predictor of the degree of carotid IMT. In elder uremic patients, carotid IMT is quite common. Elder age, hypertension, degree of renal insufficiency and dyslipidemia are associated with carotid atherosclerosis. Serum creatinine and cholesterol appears to serve as an independent predictor of carotid atherosclerosis, which contributes to the cardiovascular complications and high mortality in elder uremic patients.

Objective To explore the roles of curcumin in regulating high level O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) expression and the chemosensitivity of gliomas cells to temozolomide (TMZ) in malignant gliomas.Methods The expressions of MGMT were detected in C6 and U87 cell lines and primary malignant gliomas cell by qRT-PCR.The cell proliferation was analyzed after added in signal curcumin,signal TMZ,curcumin combined with TMZ in cells by CCK-8 assay.The cell apoptosis rate was detected by flow cytometry.Results Compared with single curcumin (C6:0.64 ±0.03;U87:0.63 ±0.06;primary cell:0.51 ±0.07) and single TMZ (C6:0.53 ±0.06;U87:0.51 ±0.04;primary cell:0.79 ±0.03),curcumin combined with TMZ (C6:0.14 ±0.01;U87:0.12 ±0.03;primary cell:0.29 ±0.02) could significantly reduce the expression of MGMT in C6,U87 cell lines and primary cell line (C6:F=23.675,P=0.006;U87:F=29.021,P=0.001;primary cell:F=25.534,P=0.001).The combination of curcumin and TMZ could significantly inhibit the cells proliferation,decrease the halfinhibition concentration (IC5o) value (C6:F=6.731,P=0.012;U87:F=17.321,P=0.008;primary cell:F=18.857,P =0.007).The apoptosis rate of the cells was significantly increased after the combined action of curcumin and TMZ (C5:F=25.871,P=0.001;U87:F=6.847,P=0.009;primary cell:F=36.641,P=0.000).Conclusion Synergistic effect of curcumin and TMZ can reduce the expression of MGMT and increase the chemosensitivity of TMZ to malignant glioma,and provide new strategy and methods for the treatment of malignant glioma.

Objective To understand the job stressors, coping style and general self-efficacy of emergency nurses and relationship of them. Methods A cross-sectional study involving 83 emergency nurses were conducted through the Chinese Nurses′ Job Stress Sources Scale, Trait Coping Style Questionnaire, General Self-efficacy Scale. Results Job stress among nurses in emergency department was caused by heavy workloads and time distribution (2.88±0.82), issue of patient care (2.78±0.59). The score of emergency nurses′coping propensity was 3.77, indicating more use of positive coping. Negative coping scored higher than the norm (26.99±4.76 vs.21.25±7.41), the difference was significant (t=10.290, P<0.01). The average score of general self-efficacy was 2.40 ± 0.48, lower than the norm (2.86±0.52), the difference was significant (t=-8.07, P<0.01). Active coping style scores were negatively correlated with job stress (r =-0.294, P < 0.05), negative coping style scores were positively correlated with job stress (r =0.239, P<0.05). General self-efficacy and positive coping scores were positively correlated (r=0.270, P<0.05). Conclusions The job stress among emergency nurses was at high level, self-efficacy was not high, but they still have a positive behavior patterns. Nurse managers should take advantage of the positive psychological characteristics of nurses and give reasonable support and guidance, in order to enhance the confidence of nurses and promote self-efficacy, optimize coping, improve the physical and mental health in emergency nurses.

Objective To observe the changes of mechanical pain thresholds and autophagy related proteins microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3) and sequestosome 1 (SQSTM1 also known as p62) expression levels in the C57BL/6 mouse models of chronic prostatitis/ chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS),and provide animal experimental evidence for CP/CPPS pain and autophagy study.Methods 36 male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into three groups: the model group,control group and na(i)ve group.The CP/CPPS model was established by subcutaneous injection in the lower abdomen region with suspension liquid,containing protein extract of male SD rat prostate gland and complete Freund adjuvant.At 1month and 6 months after modeling,the mice were sacrificed and prostate tissues were harvested for histological examination using HE staining.Mechanical tactile hyperalgesia was measured with von Frey filaments.The autophagy-related proteins LC3 and p62 expression levels were detected by immunohistochemistry,respectively.The average IOD was measured by Image Pro Plus 6.0,and the statistical analysis was performed with GraphPad Prism 5 software.Results The histopathology showed the appearance of chronic prostatitis in the model group,representing hyperplasia and lymphocytic infiltration to a different degree and lasted for 6 months after modeling.Moreover,prostate intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) appeared in the model group at 6 months after modeling,characterized by the disappearence of basement membrane and obvious nuclear abnormality,while the control and na(i)ve groups showed normal histology during the 1-6 months.Compared with the control and na(i)ve groups,the mechanical pain threshold in the model group was significantly decreased along with the time from (0.353±0.154) g at 0 week to (0.008±0.00) g at 22 weeks (P<0.05).The average IOD of LC3 and p62 expression in the model group was significantly increased with timing from [(2.767±0.464)%,(2.872±1.642)%] at 1month to [(13.501±1.900)%,(9.07±0.49)%] at 6 month,P<0.05.Conclusions A CP/CPPS model is successfully established in C57BL/6 mice.For the model group,the mechanical pain threshold is decreased and autophagy levels are increased gradually with time.These phenomena show that chronic inflammation microenvironment may promote pain and autophagy activity in the prostate,which is closely related with the occurrence and development of prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia.
