Objective To evaluate the effect of implantation of chitosan membrane with triamcinolone(TA) into perichoroidal space combined with intraocular vancomycin injection on the protection of retina in rabbit endophthalmitis.Methods The drug membrane was made of gelatin-chitosan.The right eyes of 30 normal pigment rabbits were inoculated intravitreally with 0.1 ml mixture of 105 CFU standard strain Staphylococcus aureus(ATCC 25923).Twenty-four hours later,rabbits were equally randomized to intravitreal vancomycin group(Group A),intravitreal vancomycin and TA eye dropping(Group B),and intravitreal vancomycin combined with TA membrane implantation(Group C).Clinical observation of ocular fundus was done every day with indirect ophthalmofundoscope.B ultrasound examination was carried out in 24 h after inoculation and on the 14th day after therapy.Electroretinogram(ERG) was done before therapy and the 14th day after therapy.Histopathologic grading and electron microscopy were carried out at the 14th day.Results After implanting the drug membrane into perichoroidal space,the inflammation in group C was markedly less than the other 2 groups,and its inflammation score was significantly lowest(P

The effects of sophoramine (SA) on immune system in normal mice were studied. SA 15. 20mg/kg reduced the weight of thymus,decreased the rate of E rosette,and also suppressed T lymphocyte transformation. The weight and the hemolytic plaque of spleen were not influenced by SA at 15. 20mg/kg. At the dose of 25mg/kg,SA reduced the weight of thymus and spleen,decreased the rate of E rosette and suppressed the T lymphocyte transformation. All of the doses of SA didn' t affect the phagocytotic function of peritoneal macrophage.

Objective To study the effect of Thrombolytic Compound (TC) injected into internal carotid at superacute stage.Methods 66 Wistar rats were divided into group A,B and C randomly. Focal cerebral ischemic model was established by improved microthromboembolus method. The rats were intubated conversely into internal carotid 3h after cerebral ischemia for treatment with normal saline (group A),Urokinase(group B) and TC(group C) respectively. The neural functions of these rats were evaluated at 2 h after cerebral ischemia,2.5 and 23.5h after treatment and pathological changes were observed under optic and electron microscopes 24 h following thrombolysis.Results There was no significant difference of neural function scores among the three groups before administration.The scores of group C were lower than those of group A after treatment ( P

Background and purpose:Thalidomide can enhance the radiation sensitivity on tumor effectively, but the mechanism of radiosensitization is still unclear. The present study aimed to investigate whether thalidomide could enhance the radiation sensitivity on colon cancer transplanted tumor of mouse, and to investigate the underlying mechanism. Methods: We established the model of colon26 colonic carcinoma, and the mice were divided into 4 groups:Control group, the thalidomide group, the radiotherapy group and thalidomide+radiotherapy group. From the day of treatment, tumors were measured every other day. Then, the xenograft tumor growth curve was depicted. Tumor volumes were measured in different treatment groups, then, the inhibitory rates of tumor growth were calcutated. Using immunohistochemical method in to detect the expression of microvessel density (MVD) in tumor tissue. Results:The mean tumor volumes at day 22 were (4.97±1.20)cm3 (control group), (2.90±0.92)cm3 (T group), (2.66±0.88)cm3 (R group), and (1.89±0.76)cm3 (T+R group). The tumor inhibition rate in the combination group (61.9%) was signiifcantly higher than the other groups (41.7%, 46.5%, P<0.05). The radiotherapy sensitization enhancement ratio of the combined treatment group was 2.27 times than in the radiotherapy group. Thalidomide combined with radiation therapy can significantly inhibit microvessel density of tumor:The decreasing MVD of T+R group, T group and R group were respectively 46.8%, 40.7%and 37.7%, and there was statistical significance between T+R group and T group (P<0.05 ), so as between T+R group and R group. It could be found more necrotic cells in tumor of group, and there was statistical signiifcance between T+R group and control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:Thalidomide can enhance the radiosensitivity mice of colonic carcinoma, and its mechanism may be related to the inhibition of tumor angiogenesis related.

Objective:To compare immune effects of hepatitis B-BCG combined vaccine and hepatitis B vaccine.Methods:The vaccines were administered to the guinea pig at 0, 1, 2 months. The tests were divided into three parts. The immune effects were compared in three kinds of the combined vaccine and hepatitis B vaccine(Part One), in three lots of the combined vaccine and hepatitis B vaccine(Part Two), in the group of combined vaccine and the group of hepatitis B vaccine and BCG(Part Three). After 1 month of each vaccine dose, serum specimens were measured for anti-HBs by ELISA.Results:The several studies have documented the serum anti-HBs concentritious in the group of combined vaccine in first dose were lower than those of the group of control, and the data showed no significantly difference. However, anti-HBs levels of the combined vaccine group in second vaccine dose and third vaccine dose were higher than those of the control group, and this difference was no longer statistically significant in group of combined vaccine and control, and among groups of combined vaccine.Conclusion:The immune efficacy of HBsAg in group of combined vaccine is similar to the group of hepatitis B vaccine in three doses immunization schedules.

Objective To understand the difference between psychological characteristics and stress response as a result of military stress and to evaluate the rate of stress response among individuals with different psychological characteristics.Methods The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory,blood pressure,breath,pulse wave,and serum levels of lactate acid and cortisol were measured at 8 to 9 am for 372 servicemen following 15 days'training.ResultsIn 97 subjects ,the value of special characteristic anxiety Was 2-standard deviation higher than normal model(i.e.high special characteristic anxiety).and low special characteristic anxiety was found in 79.The condition anxiety of 2 standard deviation higher than normal model wag found in 172 participants.A total of 132 subjects showed significant changes in condition anxiety,serum cortisol and lactic acid,and systolic blood pressure(P＜0.01).Sixty-one or 71 subjects with high or low special characteristic anxiety experienced condition anxiety,changed serum cortisol and lactic acid,and systolic blood pressure,respectively.Conclusion Psychological characteristics may be considered as a predicting factor of stress response.

Aim To observe the effects of rapamycin (Rapa) and starvation-induced autophagy on the morphology of neuronal cells, tau protein aggregation and expression of phosphorylated tau protein, to explore the possible mechanism of cytoprotective effect of these two classical autophagy inducers on phosphorylated tau expressing cells.Methods N2a cells were transfected with GFP-tau plasmid, and equal amount of empty vector was used as control.Then cells were incubated with or without okadaic acid(OA) for 12 h, followed by treatment with autophagy inducers rapamycin(Rapa) and EBSS, autophagy inhibitor Bafilomycin A1(Baf A1) for 6 h.DAB was used to observe tau expression and cell morphology.Confocal microscopy was used to observe the intracellular tau aggregation.TUNEL assay and cleaved caspase-3 level were used to detect cell apoptosis.Immunoblot was used to detect the expression of phosphorylated tau and autophagy-related proteins.Results Our study showed that the N2a cells treated with OA exhibited small cell body, retracted processes and increased tau aggregation, compared with only tau-expressing cells.Rapa and EBSS treatment significantly improved cell morphology, decreased tau aggregation and reduced cell apoptosis.On the contrary, Baf A1 treatment induced aberrant cell shape and increased tau aggregation and cell apoptosis.In addition, Rapa significantly decreased the high molecular weight, phosphorylated tau whereas EBSS especially decreased the low molecular weight phosphorylated tau.Conclusions Rapa and EBSS is alleviate hyperphosphorylated tau-induced cytotoxicity through different mechanism.Rapamycin mainly decreases phosphorylated tau oligomers, while EBSS liable to decrease the soluble phosphorylated tau.

Objective To investigate the expression of Semaphorin3B (SEMA3B) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and reveal its clinical significance.Methods Immunohistochemistry and Western blotting were performed to examine the expression of SEMA3B protein in 56 hepatocellular carcinoma samples,matched perineoplastic tissues and 14 normal liver samples.Microvessel density (MVD) was determined by counting CD34-positive endothelial cells.Statistical methods were performed to analyse the relationships between the expression of SEMA3B and clinicopathologic factors.Results The rate of the SEMA3B-positive in HCC tissues was 42.9％ and significantly lower than that in normal liver tissues and non-cancerous adjacent liver tissues(78.6％ and 85.7％,respectively)(P＜0.05).MVD in SEMA3B-positive HCC tissus was lower than that in SEMA3B-negative HCC tissus (P＜0.05).The expression of SEMA3B was closely related to tumor nodular number,tumor size,tumor capsulation and CLIP score (P＜0.05 for all).The recurrence and metastasis rate in SEMA3B-positive group was lower than that in the negative group(P＜0.05),and the survival rate in positive group was higher than that in the negative(P＜0.05).Conclusion The expression of SE-MA3B was decreased in HCC tissues,and its expression was closely associated with tumor progression,angiogenesis and prognosis,indicating that it might seve as a predictor of prognosis and a possible novel target of antiangiogenic therapy for patients with HCC.

Objective:To explore the changes of cerebral blood flow (CBF) perfusion caused by N 2O (laughing gas) abuse. Methods:From December 2017 to October 2018, the CBF perfusion images of 24 patients with laughing gas abuse (9 males, 15 females; age: 18-32(24.0±8.9) years) from China-Japan Friendship Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. The region uptake statistics of different brain regions of interest (ROI) (basal ganglia, central region, cerebellum, cingulate gyrus, frontal lobe, medial temporal lobe, occipital lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe) between patients with laughing gas abuse and normal people of the same age group from background software database were calculated automatically. Statistic>1.68 indicated the increase of local CBF perfusion, while statistic < -1.68 indicated the decrease of local CBF perfusion. The correlation between the statistics of bilateral brain regions and the correlation between statistical values and clinical indicators were analyzed by Pearson and Spearman correlation analyses.Results:The correlation of the statistics between bilateral regions of each brain area was significant( r values: 0.503-0.892, all P<0.05). The decreased CBF proportions of frontal and temporal lobes were 62.5%(15/24) and 70.8%(17/24), respectively. The highest proportion of increased CBF was cingulate gyrus (33.3%, 8/24). There were significant correlations between frontal lobe, central brain area and duration of laughing gas abuse ( rs values: 0.375, 0.305, both P<0.05). Conclusion:CBF perfusion imaging is helpful for understanding the changes of CBF in patients with laughing gas abuse.
