Atlas Human cDNA expression array technique was employed to study the differences in gene expression in normal and endometrial cancer tissues. In this technique, dATP? 32 P labeled cDNA from normal and tumor tissues was hybridized to identical human cDNA expression array membranes (containing 588 known genes). The results showed that the expression of endometrial cancer associated genes including IRP, Wnt 5, 5T4 oncofetal antigen precusor , and CD147, were higher compared with controls. It suggested that the differential hybridization technique of Atlas Human cDNA expression array can be a useful method to identify genes differentially expressed either in normal or endometrial cancer tissue.

A model of vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation was estabolished by balloon angioplas-ty in rat's aorta. We found that treatment with batroxobin decreased plasma fibrinogen level after angio-plasty, and inhibited the increase in smooth muscle cell count of injured vascular wall and incorporation rate of H-TdR into vascular tissues effectively. The results suggest that batroxobin may have clinically prospective significance in prevention and therapy of angioplasty-induced restenosis.

Objective To screen related gene of endometrial cancer by mRNA differential display (DD) polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Methods Individual mRNA from normal and neoplastic endometrium obtained from the same patient were comparatively studied by DD methodology. The mRNAs were isolated from the tissues, reverse transcribed to cDNA, and then amplified by PCR. The PCR products were displayed on a polyacrylamid gel by silver staining, and the differentially expressed bands were retrieved and reamplified. Subsequently we selected four bands for sequencing and making further investigation. Results cDNA homology was analysed by searching through GenBank sequence databases and indicated that tumor fragment (T1 7) has no significant sequence homology with any sequence of known function. Acession number is AF315581. Further study showed that T1 7 expressed more abundantly in endometrial cancer than hyperplasia endometrium, but not expressed in normal endometrium. Conclusions T1.7 is a new expressed sequence tag. It may be related gene fragment of endometrial cancer.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the strategy of information system in antibiotics usage management. METHODS By inquisition, statistic and analytic methods the antibiotics usage information of the hospitalized patients was recorded with the information system,to realize the realtime monitoring and process management. RESULTS The usage rate of antibiotics decreased from 88.79% to 80.19% and the prophylactic usage rate of the third cephalosporin decreased from 72.34% to 11.25%.The rational usage rate increased from 57.89% to 80.18%. CONCLUSIONS The management method of antibiotics usage with information system achieves obvious effect.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the risk factors of nosocomial infection among child tumor patients with post-surgery chemotherapy.METHODS A total of 312 child tumor cases with post-surgery chemotherapy in the pediatric ward during from Dec 2004 to Dec 2008 were retrospectively reviewed. And 16 variables such as age, diagnosis, white blood cell count and nosocomial infections were studied. The data were analyzed with the single factorial ?2 test and multifactorial Logistic-regression analysis.RESULTS The incidence of nosocomial infection was 27.56%.The length of hospitalization, the white blood cell count, the neutrophil cell count and the invasive operation were found as independent risk factors of the nosocomial infection.CONCLUSIONS Shortening the hospitalization length, increasing the white blood cell and the neutrophil cell count and avoiding the unnecessary invasive operation will decrease the nosocomial infection.

Objective To investigate the current status about nursing undergraduate students' knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP)regarding nosocomial infection. Methods The self-administered questionnaires were employed to survey 108 undergraduate nursing students on the basis of a simple random sampling method. Results In the knowledge dimension, the nursing students earned 78.3% of accuracy rate when responding to the questionnaires. The students also demonstrated positive attitudes towards nosocomial infection and occupational safety, particularly the female students. In terms of practice, the students performed relatively poor as 36.1% of the students were unclear about the classification of medical garbage and 22.2% of the students used their non-clean hands to touch their eye-glasses.Conclusions The undergraduate nursing students have demonstrated adequate knowledge and proper attitude towards nosocomial infection and occupational safety, however, some behaviors need to be changed.Nursing schools and hospitals should be aware of these findings and provide more training programs regarding nosocomial infection and occupational safety so that they can help students formulate good habits to prevent and control nosocomial infection.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the different methods to calculate the rate of missing report on nosocomial infections.METHODS We had two methods to define the case of nosocomial infections, one was that the cases(infected) during the month we investigated, the other was that patients infected during the in hospital time. Then we got two different rates and "actually" nosocomial infection cases and compare the difference of the two results.(RESULTS) It was significant difference between these two results(P

ObjectiveTo discuss the diagnosis and treatment of spontaneous carotid artery dissection (SCAD).Methods Clinical diagnosis and treatment data of 9 patients with SCAD were analyzed retrospectively.ResultsVascular ultrasound showed stenoses or occlusions of carotid artery.Angiography showed “flame-shaped ” sign in totally occluded proximal section and free intimal flap in stenoses section. One patient with total occlusion of bilateral internal carotid artery and 6 patients with total occlusion of unilateral internal carotid artery were treated with antiplatelet therapy. Two patients with incomplete occlusion of the carotid were operated with stent implantation in carotid arteries, and the clinical effect of both operations was satisfactory.ConclusionAngiography remains the gold standard in diagnosing SCAD,and stent implantation is an effective treatment of this disease.

Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(06):-
Objective To investigate the factors and rate of the forming of the collateral feeding arteries from inferior phrenic artery(IPA) in hepatocellular carinoma(HCC).Methods IPA was demonstrated on angiographs in 137 patients with HCC during transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE),TACE was performed through diaphragmatic inferior artery(DIA) super setectively. Results Of 137 cases,21 cases underwent TACE through DIA(15.3%),of them 2 cases were recurrent after surgical operation(9.5%),3 cases had the tumor receive blood supply from IPA at first TACE(14.3%) and 16 cases were occured after TACE tow and more times(76.2%).Conclusion Collateral branches originated from IPA are important feeding arteries in HCC,TACE of IPA can be performed with a high success rate without major complications.

AIM: To evaluate the growth-inhibitory effects of NS-398, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, in human colon cancer HT-29 cells and its possible mechanisms. METHODS: MTT assay was applied to detect the cell proliferation. Flow cytometry was performed to detect apoptosis rate and cell cycle. RT-PCR was used to detect the expression of bcl-2 mRNA and bax mRNA. Alteration of cytoskeleton component F-actin was observed by confocal laser scanning microscope. RESULTS: NS-398 could inhibit growth of HT-29 cells in dose-and time-dependent manners. Flow cytometry revealed that NS-398 could induce apoptosis and cause G0/G1 arrest of HT-29 cells in a dose-dependent manner. After 72 h incubation with NS-398 at different concentrations, the expression level of bcl-2 mRNA was lowered and the ratio of bcl-2 to bax was decreased in HT-29 cells. F-actin was mainly distributed around nuclei forming annular structure in HT-29 cells. After exposure to NS-398, the annular structure around nuclei disappeared and fluorescence intensity of F-actin decreased obviously. CONCLUSION: NS-398 can inhibit the growth effectively and induce apoptosis in HT-29 cells in vitro, which is associated with the down-regulation of bcl-2 to bax ratio and the disruption of cytoskeleton.
