1.Quality control of Suxiao Xiaoyan Gao

AIM: To probe the quanlity and control of Suxiao Xiaoyan Gao. METHODS: The microscopy and TLC were applied to identify Scutellaria baicalensis; Hibiscus mutabilis; Curcuma longa; Rheum palmatum; Phellodendron chinese and borneol. The HPLC on C18column was used to determine the content of baicalin in Suxiao Xiaoyan Gao. Mobile phase was methanol∶0.4% phosphoric acid solution(47∶53). Detection wavelength was 280 nm. RESULTS: The micro-character and thin-layer chromatography was clear with no disturbance of negative sample. The average recovery of baicalin was (99±3)%, RSD was 3.35%. CONCLUSION: The method is simple and feasible. Its repetition is well. It can be used as a quality control method of Suxiao Xiaoyan Gao.
2.Rat intestinal absorption trait of peimine and peiminine in Thunberg fritillary bulb extract.

To study the in situ intestinal absorption kinetics and compatibility influence of peimine and peiminine in rats, the absorption of peimine and peiminine in small intestine (duodenum, jejunum and ileum) and colon of rats was investigated using in situ single-pass perfusion method and the drug content was measured by HPLC-ELSD. Perfusion rate, pH, concentration of drug, gender and bile duct ligation can significantly affect the absorption of peimine and peiminine, the Ka, and Papp values in the condition of pH 6.8 and pH 7.4 had significant difference (P<0.01), as drug concentration irlcreased, the absorption parameters of peimine and peiminine decreased, Ka and Papp between low concentrations and middle concentrations was significant difference (P<0.01). Verapamil can not affect Ka and Papp of peimine and peiminine which are in the extract (P> 0.05). Bitter almonds and licorice can significantly reduce the absorption of peimine and peiminine with the usual dose (P<0.01), extracted separately and together had no significant difference on Ka and Papp (P> 0.05). Experimental results show that the absorption features of peimine and peiminine are basically the same, both of them could be absorbed at all segments of the intestine in rats and had no special absorption window, and with significant differences between male and female individuals. The absorption of peimine and peiminine complies with the active transport and facilitated diffusion in the general intestinal segments. Bitter almond and licorice can reduce the intestinal absorption rate ofpeimine and peiminine.

Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) widely exists in living organisms.It,whose length is more than 200 bp,can regulate the genic expression in the epigenetic,transcriptional and post-transcriptional level.Therefore,it can influence cell proliferation,apoptosis,vitality,immune response and oxidative stress.In recent years,the study of lncRNA is developing rapidly in the ophthalmic research,and this article reviews the latest research progress on mechanism of lncRNA in the ophthalmology disease.
4.Pharmaceutical procurement and reimbursement schedule in Taiwan

Object:The paper aims to analyze Taiwanese experience in pharmaceutical procurement, pharma-ceutical benefits and reimbursement schedule, and make references for the Mainland China. Methods:Through read-ing and analyzing the Taiwanese government policy and the literature published to find out the pharmaceutical pro-curement measures, different medicines’ pricing strategy and its reimbursement mode compared with the Mainland China. Results: Hospitals can purchase medicines based on their own needs, and the purchase price was formed through negotiating with providers and buyers. It has been found that Taiwan only controls the medicines reimburse-ment prices. The international reference pricing is adopted for new medicines, and the originators, bioequivalence/bioavailability generic medicines and general generics reimbursement prices are very high at international reference prices, and need to be weakened in order to fit the requirements. Moreover, the medicine quality is one of the stand-ards considered in case of making decisions on the reimbursement prices. In addition, the reimbursement price is as-sociated with procurement price. When the spread is larger than 30%, the government will adjust the reimbursement to fill the gap. Conclusions: Through the system design and adjustment, the Taiwanese Government have set up a better procurement and reimbursement co-ordination in the pharmaceutical segment, and formed the reasonable prices for the case. The Taiwanese experience can be taken as a reference for the mainland China to refine its procurement reforms and reimbursement policy.
5.Animal models of intracristal and membranous ventricular septal defect

BACKGROUND:Surrounding structure of intracristal ventricular septal defects(IVSD) and membranous ventricular septal defects(MVSD)is complicated,and it is difficult to perform transcatheter closure treatment.Corresponding animal models should be established to define an optimal interventional therapy.OBJECTIVE:To prepare the animal models of IVSD and MVSD under echoeardiogram location.DESIGN:Animal modeling experiment.SETTING:Department of Cardiology,Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University.MATERIALS:Six healthy adult dogs,irrespective of gender,were purchased from Shanghai Experimental Animal Center.Aorta and great saphenous vein stapler-puncher(St.Jude corporation,USA)was used.The main improvement is to cut the plastic shell even,thin,or shorter in order to reduce the resistance when puncturing the"purse"in the fight ventficle and the interventficular septum.Sonos 5500 multifunction ultrasonoscope(Philips,USA)was used,and the frequency of the probe was between 2.5-3.5 MHz.METHODS:Experiments were performed at the Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University and Central Laboratory of Shanghai Institute of Cardiovascular Disease from April to July 2006(biosaflety level 2).After anaesthesia,6 adult dogs were fixed at decumbent position.The interventricular septum was punetured to make the preparation with the location of echocardiography(ECHO)by using the modified aorta and great saphenous vein proximal stapler-puncher.Animal intervention met the Animal Ethical Committee of Fudan University.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:One week after the surgery,transthoracic echocardiography examination was used to check the VSD site,the highest shunt flow rate,the pressure difference between both sides of the VSD,as well as pulmonary artenal pressure.RESULTS:The VSD models were successfully established in three survivals and included in the final result.Two models of IVSD and one model of MVSD were examined by ECHO one week after the surgery.The diameter of VSD ranges from 1.8 to 3.6 mm.The Peak Flow Rate of the VSD ranges between 1.8 and 4.0 m/s.The pressure difierence of both sides of the VSD ranges between 42 and 51 mm Hg.The pulmonary arterial systolic pressure ranges from 23 to 29 mm Hg.CoNCLUSION:Located by the ECHO,it is possible to establish animal models of the IVSD and MVSD with the modified aorta and great saphenous vein proximal stapler-puncher.
6.The relationship between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and serum free estriol and its impact on pregnancy outcomes

Objective To research the relationship between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and serum free estriol 3 (FE3) and explore its impact on pregnancy outcome.Methods Clinical data of 117 hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and 165 normal pregnant women were retrospectivly analyzed.Chemiluminescence immunoassay determination of maternal serum FE3 also had been conducted.Then analyzing the correlation between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and FE3 and its impact on pregnancy outcomes.Results LDL cholesterol and the level of creatinine of observation group were significantly lower than the control group(t =3.129,9.372,all P < 0.05),while blood pressure,triglycerides,HDL,and 24-hour urinary protein content were significantly higher than control groug(t =7.361,2.398,2.833,all P < 0.05).The FE3 level of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (t =2.913,P < 0.05).There was a significant positive correlation between the FE3 level of normal pregnant women and their gestational age (r =0.937,P < 0.05).The probabilities of premature birth,premature rupture of membranes,postpartum hemorrhage,and neonatal asphyxia of observation group were significantly higher than amtrol group (x2 =3.912,3.879,4.267,6.935,all P < 0.05).Conclusion There is a significant correlation between hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy and FE3,which has an important significance on monitoring the health status of pregnant women and the fetal-placental function.

8.Effect of gastrodin on rat vascular smooth muscle cell migration induced by platelet-derived growth factor-BB

Objective To investigate the effect of gastrodin on rat vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) migration induced by platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB) and its possible mechanisms.Methods Enzyme digestion method wasused to obtain rataorticVSMCs and be purified bypassage.Immunofluorescence staining was used to identify VSMC marker proteins.A PDGF-BB induced cell migration model was established.Transwell chamber assay was used to evaluate the effect of gastrodin on PDGF-BB induced VSMC migration.Western blots were performed to detect the phosphohorylation levels of c-jun N-terminal kinase (JNK).Results The purity of primary cultured VSMC was more than 99%.The VSMC migrated number in the PDGF-BB group was 85.2 ± 3.486 per field.It was significantly more than 42.5 ± 1.927 per field in the control group (t =9.981,P<0.001),and gastrodin was enable to make PDGF-BB induced the number of VSMC migration significantly reduce to 71.3 ± 1.783 per filed (t=3.550,P =0.002).Western blots analysis showed that gastrodin inhibited PDGF-BB induced JNK phosphorylation (0.190 ± 0.015 vs.0.190 ± 0.015; t =14.548,P =0.000).Conclusions Gastrodin inhibits PDGF-BB induced VSMC migration,its mechanisms may be associated with the inhibition of the JNK signaling pathway activation.
9.Clinicopathologic features and prednisone therapeutic effect of 50 cases of proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy

Objeetive To analyze the clinicopathologic features of proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy and the efficacy of prednisone therapy.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted,enrolling 50 patients with biopsy-proven primary proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy who were admitted in the Hospital from January 2005 to June 2015-26 males and 24 females,mean age (36.8 ± 10.4) years.Clinicopathologic features and prednisone therapeutic effect were analyzed.Results The clinical manifestations of 50 cases were nephritis syndrome with varying degrees of renal insufficiency,including 32 cases (64.0%) with hypertension,15 cases (30.0%) with microscopic hematuria.Renal biopsy showed the incidence of glomerular global sclerosis was 17.0%-47.2%,tubular atrophy/ interstitial fibrosis outstanding (T0 50%,T1 32%,T2 18%).After prednisone treatment,compared with sustained remission group and relapse group,invalid patients had higher incidence of hypertension (P < 0.05),relatively lower Hb (P < 0.01) and serum albumin,more significant renal dysfunction (P < 0.01),more severe glomerular global sclerosis,segmental sclerosis,tubular atrophy/ interstitial fibrosis,while the lower interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration.During the follow-up,which lasted from 6 to 132 months (median 27.3 months),the effective rate of treatment was 74.0% after sufficient prednisone or half dose prednisone therapy.Repeated recurrence rate was 32.0%.At the end of the follow-up period,13(26.0%) patients entered the stage of uremia.Conclusions Application of glucocorticoids in the treatment of proliferative sclerosing IgA nephropathy can protect renal function and delay the progression of renal impairment.The efficacy of glucocorticoids therapy is significantly associated with the presence or absence of hypertension,the degree of renal function impairment,and the severity of the onset of renal pathology.
10.Review on Chemical Compositions and Clinical Application of Cultured Cordyceps militaris in Recent Five Years

Cordyceps sinensis is an expensive and tonic-valuable famous herb in China. Due to a narrow growing distribution, a low parasitic rate and a harsh living environmental condition, its wild recourse is not abundant. In re-cent years, with the improvement of living standards, people’s awareness of health care has increased strongly. That is because of people’s over-excavation need;and the natural resources are becoming increasing scarcity. In order to meet the demand for Cordyceps, domestic researchers conducted vigorous studies. Since 1987, four or five cul-tured Cordyceps species have been developed, namely fermented Cordyceps sinensis. Through subsequent unceasing research, they were put into a lot of production, bringing a certain benefits for income and society. Currently, there are four commercial brands on the market. They are Bailing, Jinshuibao, Xinganbao and Ningxinbao. This paper summarized the studies of its chemical compositions and clinical applications on fermented Cordyceps militaris in the recent five years. It will let scholars understand its value of the cultured Cordyceps militaris more comprehen-sively and supply more information for scholars in its further research.
