3.Influence and significance of tiotropium on inspiratory capacity in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

0.05).FVC increased significantly in week 6 and 12(t=2.762,P =0.008;t=2.255,P =0.029,respectively).There was no statistical significance in FEV_1/FVC between two groups.IC increased significantly in week 6 and 12(t =3.204,P =0.002;t =3.109,P=0.003,respectively).Conclusion Inhaling tiotropium increases IC in patients with stable COPD.As lung function targets judging limit extent of airflow in patients with COPD,FEV_1/FVC and FEV_1(%)are not sensitive in evaluating therapeutic effect of bronchodilators.IC is more reliable than other targets in evaluating therapeutic effect of bronchodilators.
4.Relationship between carotid atherosclerotic plaque and white blood cell,levels of plasma lipid,fibrinogen in the patients with cerebral infarction

Objective To study the relationship between carotid atherosclerotic plaque and white blood cell(WBC),levels of plasma lipid,fibrinogen(Fib) in the patients with cerebral infarction(CI).Methods 38 patients with CI were examined on carotid arteries using magnetic resonance imagine(MRI) to discover the atherosclerotic plaques and ascertain their stability.WBC,the levels of plasma lipids [including total cholesterol,triglyceride,high density lipoprotein,low density lipoprotein(LDL),lipoprotein(a)] and Fib were detected in CI patients and 31 healthy subjects(normal control group,all subjects were examined carotid arteries with color dopper ultrasonography and no plaques were found)].Results 26 patients with CI(68.4 %) showed carotid plaques and 12 patients with CI(31.6%)did not.Of these,the patients with unstable versus stable plaque were 20(52.6%) versus 6(15.8%) respectively.The levels of plasma Fib in the CI group(including CI without plaque,CI with stable plaque and CI with unstable plaque) were significantly higher than that in the normal control group(all P
5.Study on typing of DNA extracted from urine and urine stains

Objective To investigate the extraction of DNA from urine and urine stains and typing.Methods DNA was extracted from urine and urine stains with Chelex-100 extraction method and QIAamp Mini Kit.STR loci were typed after amplification by PCR procedures with Profiler Plus Kit.Results STR loci could be well typed in DNA extracted from the urine,which was fresh or preserved properly for less than 12 hours.Satisfactory DNA typing could be made in 50% of the urine preserved for two days.No typing results were obtained in the samples kept for seven days or much longer time,and typing was rarely available using urine stains.Conclusion DNA extracted from the fresh urine can be typed,which may be used in forensic identification.
6.Compare with the three methods of DNA extraction of sweat latent fingerprint on the adhesive side of tapes

Objective To comparatively analyze the DNA extracted from sweat latent fingerprints on the adhesive side of tapes by three kinds of methods. Methods DNA was extracted from sweat latent fingerprint on the adhesive side of tapes using silicon bead test,QIA micro Kit and combined silicon bead-QIA micro Kit. STR loci were detected by multiplex PCR procedures. The PCR product was electrophoresed on an ABI 3100 Genetic Analyzer. Results 36%of the sweat latent fingerprints on the adhesive side of tapes was successfully genotyped using combined silicon bead-QIA micro Kit, and 21% using QIA micro Kit. Conclusion DNA genotyping of the sweat latent fingerprints on the adhesive side of tapes reveals higher possibility using combined silicon bead-QIA micro Kit than using QIA micro Kit and is less time-consuming.
7.The influence on the quantity of the template DNA on the results of the automatic fluerescent detection of STR multiplex amplification

Objective For the purpose of exploring the influence exerued by the amount of template DNA on the results of automatic fluerescent detection. Method For the purpose of buiding the optimal amount of template DNA amplified, we have analyzed different amount of template DNA (9947A) by 3100 Genetic Analyzer with the multiplexing Profiler Plus Kit. Results The optimal amounts of template DNA amplified were between 0.31ng and 2. 5ng by using 3100 Genetic Analyzer. Conclusion It will produce the incorrect analytic results if the amounts of template DNA were too high or too low.

9.A Study on the Diagnostic Value of Telomerase Activity and hTERT in Pleural Effusion

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of telomerase activity (TA) and hTERT expression in pleural effusions. Methods According to the final diagnosis, 51 patients with pleural effusion were classified into two groups: malignant group (n=27) and benign group (n=24). Telomerase activity in pleural effusion was measured by TRAP-ELISA. Then the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of telomerase activity for diagnosing pleural effusion were calculated. hTERT in pleural effusion was detected by western blotting analysis. Results TA assay showed that 24 of 27 cases of malignant pleural effusion were found to possess telomerase activity, while 1 of 24 cases of benign one had telomerase activity. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of TA assay for diagnosing pleural effusion were 88.9%, 95.8%, 96%, 88.5%, and 92.2%, respectively. hTERT test showed that 8 of 27 cases of malignant pleural effusion had hTERT expression, while none of 12 cases of benign one had hTERT expression. There was significant difference in diagnosing pleural effusion between two methods (? 2=19.64,P=9.4?10 -5 ). Conclusion Tolomerase activity assay may act as a routine diagnostic method for malignant pleural effusions, while hTERT test may serve as complementary one.

Ideal blood glucose control requires accurate insulin injections under the guidance of frequent glucose monitoring.Artificial pancreas (AP),the closed-loop control system can adjust the input amount of insulin automatically with the body's blood glucose levels.The AP allows diabetics to control blood glucose ideal,then get the benefit of prevention of complications and bring convenience and safety in clinical application.Accuracy is the key issue of the AP.To improve the accuracy of such a system need to improve the detection accuracy and reliability,increase speed and accuracy of the output control,and improve the accuracy of the system regulation model.
