Objective To evaluate phenomenons and features of transient tricuspid regurgitation.Methods 56 cases of infant suffered severe pneumonia was examined by Doppler.Results The cardiac valves of the infant suffered severe pneumonia had normal shapes and location.48 cases with transient tricuspid regurgitation was found.The rate of occurance was 83.8%.Of these cases,most of them were in light level transient tricuspid regurgitation,a few were in medium level.The features were described as below:(1)The signal of reversed bloodstream from valve to right auricular was multicoloured.The direction of regurgitation was point to auricular septal or right auricular wall.The maximum velocity of regurgitation was 1.46～2.51M/S.(2)The transient tricuspid regurgitation had the features of reversibility.The transient tricuspid regurgitation could disappear nearly along with the recovery of severe pneumonia.Only 5 cases was transformed from medium level into light level.Conclusion The Doppler examination used in infant suffered severe pneumonia with transient tricuspid regurgitation is evidently superior to tricuspid valve auscultation,and the Doppler examination can be used to differentiate with congenital cardiac diseases.It is a useful method to evaluate the state,the variation and the curative effect of the illness.

Objective To discuss the value of ultrasonic examinion in laparoscope's thyroidectomy.Methods 41 cases who were performed in laparoscope's thyroidectomy were checked by color Doppler flow imaging and two dimensional sonography,the key of examination:(1)The length and depth of thyroid isthmitis.(2)Trachea curve degree and the depth in up-sternum.(3)The reference between thyroid,calvicle and sternum.(4)Thyroid tumefaction degree over sternomastoid.(5)Thyroid tumer's number,position and size.(6)Tumer's kind.(7)Bloodstream change.Results Only 1 case turned open.1 case recured in hyperthyroidism.Hoarseness occured in loose after operation and come-into being after 1 mouth.No trachea and parathyroid hurt appeared in any cases.The mean operation time was 125 minutes(range 86 to 193 minutes).The mean time stay in hospital was 9 days(range 6 to 15 days).Conclusion Ultrasonic examination before operation is very valuable.

Objective To investigate the correlation of long term aspirin treatment and cerebral microbleeds(CMBs)incidence in non-hypertensive patients.Methods 56 non-hypertensive patients (the average age of 64.88±6.99)with long term aspirin adminis-tration (100 mg/d)were enrolled in the study from 2005 to 2010 in our hospital,with follow up to compare CMBs 5-10 years later. All patients underwent T2 WI,T1 WI,diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI)and susceptibility weighted imaging (SWI).The CMBs lesions were defined by senior radiologists.Patients’age,gender,total cholesterol level,aspirin,CMBs and CMBs location were taken into account in data analysis.Results CMBs incidence was 14.3% in all participants,lesions were located mostly in lobes.Aged,male and low total cholesterol level were the risk factors of CMBs (P<0.05).Patients with CMBs were more likely to suffer from acute cere-bral infarction (P<0.05).Two of 56 patients with new CMBs lesions located in lobar and mixed location respectively only.Conclusion Long term aspirin administration does not increase the risk of CMBs in non-hypertensive patients(P>0.05),the potential adverse effect of aspirin needs further investigation.

Objective To summarize the experience of ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrostomy during percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL) under B-ultrasound guidance. Methods A ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrostomy was performed in 43 cases by using a 18-gauge needle.Then the percutaneous puncture was expanded for establishing a working tunnel. Under nephroscope,stone fragmentation was completed in the renal pelvis and the upper segment of the ureter.Results The success rate of percutaneous puncture was 100%.Of the 43 cases,the percutaneous working tunnel was successfully established in 42 cases(97.7%),while a conversion to open surgery was needed in 1 case because of uncontrolled hemorrhage after puncture.The overall stone clearance rate was 100%(42/42),including 38 cases of stone removal on one session and 4 cases of two-staged clearance.No serious complications,such as massive hemorrhage or neighboring organ injuries,were encountered.Re-examinations with B-ultrasonography or KUB at 1 month after operation showed no residual stones.Conclusions Ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrostomy is minimally invasive,safe,and reliable.Proper use of this technique is crucial for a successful performance of percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the treatment of upper urinary tract calculus.

Objective:To find out whether the dentin formation of hypophosphatasia children is affec-ted;to study the biological difference of cultured human dental pulp cells from deciduous teeth between hypophosphatasia and normal healthy children.Methods: Anterior deciduous teeth were collected from hypophosphatasia(experiment group)and normal healthy children(control group)respectively.Grounding sections of the affected and healthy deciduous teeth were made to observe their roots;the den-tal pulp cells were separated and cultured.The characteristics of cell proliferation,differentiation and calcification were studied and compared between the two groups of children.MTT assay was performed to study the growth curves of the cells;RT-PCR was performed to evaluate the expression of tissue nonspecific alkaline phosphatase(TNSALP)at different stages;von Kosssa staining was used to test formed calcification nodules after 3 weeks of induction.Results: From the grounding sections,the root surface of the experiment group was not smooth with absorbed areas,cementum was absent.For proliferation activity and the expression of TNSALP,the dental pulp cells from experiment group was obviously lower than control group.Calcified nodules could be seen in both groups,but the nodules were less and the sizes were smaller in experiment group than in control group.Conclusion: In hypophosphatasia patients,not only the cementum but also the dentin were affected.The proliferation,TNSALP expression and calcification capability of the dental pulp cells were influenced in hypophosphatasia patients,and this may be related to the tooth calcification defect.

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture therapy to support yang and consolidate the constitution for cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type (CSA). Methods:A total of 72 patients with CSA were randomly divided upon the random digital table into an acupuncture- moxibustion group and an acupuncture group, 36 cases in each group. The acupuncture-moxibustion group was treated by electroacupuncture (EA) at bilateral Fengchi (GB 20) and C4-6 Jiaji (EX-B 2), in combination of moxibustion at Baihui (GV 20), Shenshu (BL 23) and Mingmen (GV 4) to support yang and consolidate constitution. The acupuncture group was given by routine EA at bilateral Fengchi (GB 20), cervical Jiaji (EX-B 2), Tianzhu (BL 10), Jianjing (GB 21), Houxi (SI 3), Hegu (LI 4) and Waiguan (TE 5). The treatment was given once every day and continuous six sessions made one course. After 2-course treatment, the improved situation of clinical symptoms and clinical effect were observed in the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 91.7% in the acupuncture-moxibustion group and 61.1% in the acupuncture group. The difference of the total effective rate between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of the clinical symptoms in the two groups were obviously decreased than those of the same group before treatment (P<0.01). The differences in the scores between the two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture-moxibustion treatment to support yang and consolidate constitution is better than the routine acupuncture therapy in the therapeutic effect for CSA.

Objective To assess the clinical efficacy of levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system(LNG-IUS) in the treatment of adenomyosis. Methods Forty-two patients with adenomyosis diagnosed by clinical symptoms, MRI, laparoscopy and/or chromatic colour type-B ultrasound were treated with LNG-IUS, and the menstrual blood volume, severity of dysmenorrhea and uterine volume were observed three months later. Results After 3 month treatment of LNG-IUS, the menstrual blood volume reduced significantly to (27?11)% of that before treatment. Comparison of assays of immunoreactive insulin (IRI) and specific insulin in evaluating islet β cell function and insulin sensitivity suggested that there were no significant differences in individuals with different glucose tolerance impairment by two assays. The evaluation of islet β cell function using IRI and insulin sensitivity is still valid in clinical practice.

Objective To detect the expression of humar telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) and telomerase activity in HeLa,MCF-7,SMMC7721 PC-3m and U2OS cell lines. Methods The techniques of immunochemistry and TRAP-ELISA were employed to detect the expression of hTERT and telomerase activity in different tumor cell lines.Results The positive rate of hTERT in HeLa cells(93.75%?3.10%)was significantly higher than that in U2OS cells(2.75%?0.96%),besides the other three cell lines showed an positive rates of hTERT in MCF-7(92.50%?2.65%),SMMC7721 (53.75%?2.22%)and PC-3m(23.50%?2.89%); Meanwhile,the telomerase activity of HeLa cells (94.58%?3.49%) was also much higher than that of U2OS(3.02%?0.43%),likewise the telomerase activities of the other three cell lines (MCF-7,SMMC7721,PC-3m) were 73.90%?4.50%,66.67%?3.35% and 50.62%?1.96%, respectively. 100 u/L 24 months later and another 38 year-old patient underwent surgical operation of ovaries bilaterally before UAE. Conclusions Temporary amenorrhea may not mean ovarian dysfunction or failure. The probability of ovarian dysfunction or failure after UAE is low, which mainly occur in the peirmenopausal patients. Consideration of the probability of inducing early ovarian failure, caution should be taken for UAE on the patients having ovarian surgery before. (J Intervent Radiol, 2006, 15: 472-475)
