Objective To investigate the X-ray and clinic manifestations of hereditary multiple osteochondroma(HMO).Methods Five patients with HMO clinically and pathologically confirmed and 63 persons in their pedigree were studied. Results Of 63 cases inquired in this study, there were 21 patients with hereditary multiple exostosis, including 16 men and 5 women. In 5 cases confirmed pathologically,4 patients had hereditary history of pedigree and the members of three generation in 1 patient with HMO had no the history of pedigree. Conclusion HMO has the remarkable sex difference and the typical inherited trend including the location of exostosis.HMO has inherited character of skipping generation.

Objective To investigate severe complications of inferior vena cava filter (IVCF) applying for preventing pulmonary embo-lism after spinal cord injury. Methods From December 2014 to July 2015, 95 patients with acute spinal cord injury (SCI) in our hospital were retrospected. Results Deep venous thrombosis (DVT) appeared in 23 cases, in which 15 cases placed IVCF. All patients accepted anti-coagulant therapy, except 10 cases with contraindication. 3 cases had severe complication, in which 2 cases had comprehensive DVT distal to IVCF, with both lower limbs severe swelling, acute renal inadequacy and hypertension;1 case had continuous hyperpyrexia. Conclusion Although the IVCF placement was widely used in acute SCI for preventing pulmonary embolism in patients with DVT, however, the selec-tion of IVCF and complication prevention should be taken into account.

Objective. The anti-atherosclerotic effect of fluvastatin at doses insufficient to lower serum cholesterol on the catheter-induced intimal thickening and possible mechanism were investigated in abdominal aorta of rabbits. Methods. Fifty-six rabbits were randomly divided into eight groups(n = 7, each). Fluvastatin was given mixed with food at daily dose of 8mg/kg starting 5 days before catheterization, Light microscope, immunohistochemistry, transmis-sion electron microecope and RT-PCR assay were applied to assess vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC)proliferation and apoptosis, as well as oncogene expression in vascular wall. Results. At day 10 and day 15 after catheter induced denudation intima/media(I/M)thickness ratio was obviously higher, and also the percentage of PCNA-positive cells and TUNEL-positive cells in media was significantly higher compared with controls. The intimal hyperplasia was mostly composed of α-SM-actin-positive cells. In rabbits given flu-vastatin I/M ratio and the percentage of these positive cells significantly decreased compared with those without fluvas-tatin. The overexpression of proto-oncogene H-ras mRNA and decreased expression of anti-oncogene p53 mRNA were found after vascular injury, whereas fluvastatin significantly reduced H-ras mRNA and increased p53 mRNA expres-sion. Conclusion. Proliferation of VSMC in the media and the migration to the intima can be inhibited, and apoptosis of VSMC be induced by short-term use of fluvastatin after balloon catheter denudation, independent of serum lipid change. The underlying mechanism is presumably associated with the influence of fluvastatin on oncogene expression in the injured vascular wall.

Objective To investigate the expression of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 in breast cancer and their relationship with clinical indicators and prognosis. Methods TCGA database and TIMER 2.0 database were used to analyze the differences of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 expression in breast cancer tissues and paracancerous tissues;K-M database was used to create the survival curves of patients in the high and low expression groups of the two.qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 in the cancerous and paracancerous tissues, and the expression differences, the relationship between their expression levels and the clinical observation indexes were statistically analyzed, and the independent prognostic factors of breast cancer were screened out;K-M survival analysis was used to compare the prognostic differences between the groups and create the survival curves. Results The expression levels of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 in breast cancer tissues were significantly higher than those in paracancerous tissues according to the results of biopsy,qRT-PCR and immuno-histochemistry,and the expression levels of SLC35A2 were significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis, while the expression of PFDN2 was significantly correlated with the diameter of the tumor and the metastasis of lymph nodes, and the expression of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 was an independent prognostic factor for breast cancer.patients had the worst prognosis. Conclusion The expression of SLC35A2 and PFDN2 in breast cancer tissues was closely related to clinical indicators and prognosis of breast cancer, and could be used as a potential target for breast cancer treatment.

Solute carrier (SLC) transporters meditate many essential physiological functions, including nutrient uptake, ion influx/efflux, and waste disposal. In its protective role against tumors and infections, the mammalian immune system coordinates complex signals to support the proliferation, differentiation, and effector function of individual cell subsets. Recent research in this area has yielded surprising findings on the roles of solute carrier transporters, which were discovered to regulate lymphocyte signaling and control their differentiation, function, and fate by modulating diverse metabolic pathways and balanced levels of different metabolites. In this review, we present current information mainly on glucose transporters, amino-acid transporters, and metal ion transporters, which are critically important for mediating immune cell homeostasis in many different pathological conditions.

With the continuously increasing demands of plastic products in the current society, the challenge of disposing plastic waste is constantly increasing, leading to the urgent need of mitigating plastic pollution. As a consequence, much attention has been paid to biodegradable plastics due to their degradability in a bio-active environment under certain conditions. Biodegradable plastics herald vast development potentials and considerable market prospects. The degradation of numerous types of biodegradable plastics will be affected by many factors. A thorough understanding of degradation mechanisms as well as functional microbial strains and enzymes is the key to comprehensive utilization and efficient treatment and disposal of biodegradable plastics. The article summarized the types, properties, advantages and disadvantages, and main applications of common biodegradable plastics. The degradation mechanisms, functional microbial strains and enzymes, as well as the degradation degree and duration under different environmental conditions, were also summarized. This review may help better understand the degradation of biodegradable plastics wastes.
