Polypeptide fragment of rabies virus glycoprotein(RVG)has become one of the most popular polypeptides in drug delivery field, because of its advantages of neurotropiam, penetration of blood-brain barrier and biosafety.Polypeptide fragment of RVG can directly deliver proteins and nucleic acids into brain.Additionally, when polypeptide fragment of RVG couples with drug-loading polymers, nanoparticles or liposomes,it can mediate the latters into brain. The application of the RVG polypeptide fragment provides a safe and effective approach for the treatment of brain diseases with biomolecules, such as chemicals,proteins.plasmids,siRNA,miRNA.

Objective:To investigate the expression of peripheral blood CD54,CD106,CD62p in patients with multi-infarct dementia. Methods:The levels of serum CD54,CD106,CD62P of 82 patients with multi-infarct dementia were measured with ELISA,and were compared with 23 normal controls. Results:The levels of serum CD54,CD106,CD62p in patients with multi-infarct dementia(CD54:469?76.33 ng/ml,CD106:1 103.3?98.96 ng/ml,CD62p:18.22?8.90 ng/ml) were higher than those in normal controls(CD54:196?45.91 ng/ml,CD106:601.0?76.30 ng/ml,CD62p:6.70?3.30 ng/ml). There were significant difference between the two groups. The levels of serum CD54,CD106,CD62p were positively correlated with the degree of dmentia.Conclusion:CD54,CD106,CD62p are closely related to the development of MID and play an important role in pathlogical procedure of cerebral damage after MID.The levels of CD54,CD106,CD62p in patients with MID implies the degree of their neurological function deficit scores and might be an important indicator to observe the changes of disease.

To explore the safety and efficacy of left atrial appendage (LAA) occlusion under the guidance of local anesthesia and modified transseptal puncture technology by coronary sinus assisted positioning in patients with nonvavular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). Methods: A total of 16 NVAF patients received local anesthesia and percutaneous LAmbre or Amplatzer cardiac plug occluder implantation. There were 12 males and the patients mean age was at (71.0±6.0) years with CHA2DS2-VASc score at (4.1±1.5); all patients had walfarin contradiction or with walfarin related side effect. Transseptal puncture was conducted by coronary sinus catheter as the anatomic location marker. Results: All 16 patients finished transseptal puncture and no relevant complication occurred. 15/16 (93.8%) patients had successful LAA occlusion, 1 patient was abandoned because of LAA anatomic structure variation. The mean operative time was (65.0±23.0) min and the mean X-ray exposure time was (12.0±3.0) min. The mean diameter of occluder was (32.5±6.0)mm. Conclusion: LAA occlusion was safe and effective with local anesthesia and modified transseptal puncture technology by coronary sinus assisted positioning in relevant patients.

Aim To investigate the regulatory effects of baicalin on apoptosis induced by virus H1 N1 in hu-man pulmonary carcinoma cell A549 . Methods The chips were used to screen the RNA samples in virus-in-fected A549 cells. Differentially expressed genes were selected in the pathway of apoptosis. The mRNA ex-pressions of caspase-3 and -8 were verified by Real-Time PCR. Results With the DNA microarray, the functions of differentially expressed genes involved in apoptosis biological pathways were analyzed by Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes ( KEGG ) Path-way databases. caspase-3, -7, -8, -10, TRAIL, MYD88 , IL1 A and IL1 B were up-regulated in virus-in-fected group. Oseltamivir could down-regulate gene ex-pressions of caspase-3 ,-4 and-8 . High-dose of baica-lin could down-regulate gene expressions of caspase-3 ,-4,-6 and -8. Except gene expressions of above, low-dose of baicalin could also down-regulate gene expres-sions of IL1RAP and Cn. Real-Time PCR experiments showed that baicalin could significantly decrease mR-NA expression of caspase-3 , -4 , -6 , -8 , IL1 RAP and Cn ( P < 0. 01 ) , compared with the virus-infected group. The results also figured that the interference ef-ficacy of low-dose baicalin was better than that of high-doses. As expected, real-time PCR data were in good agreement with the microarray assay. Conclusions Baicalin can be detected in their suppression effect of caspase-3,-4,-6, and -8 mRNA expression, so it re-sists against the apoptosis to fight against influenza vi-rus in vitro.

Objective To investigate the association between functional polymorphism IVS8-poly (T) in cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene and prostate cancer risk. Methods A population-based case-control study was conducted including 230 prostate cancer patients and 230 agematched controls.PCR-STRP was used to analysis the IVS8-poly (T) tract in CFTR gene. Results The prevalences of the low expression allele, the IVS8-5T,in prostate cancer patients and controls were 1.52 % (7/460) and 5.22 % (24/460),respectively (x2 =12.489,P =0.002).Logistic regression analysis confirmed the 5T/7T genotype was in protective association with prostate cancer risk (OR =0.232,P =0.003,95 % CI0.090-0.599).Conclusion The low expression CFTR IVS8-5T allele contributes to a reduced risk of prostate cancer in Chinese Han population, and may be a protective factor against prostate cancer.

BACKGROUND: Recently the prevalence rate of mass in mammary gland increases significantly than before. To use which kind of technology is not only related with the post-operation recurrence, but also related with the reconstruction of their confidence. Therefore, how to reduce the trauma physically and psychologically in patients to the maximal degree has become the chief factor to choose technology by surgeons.OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of transverse rectus abdominis musculocutaneous (TRAM) flap, latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap with breast prothesis, local flap and simple breast prothesis after skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction.DESIGN: Case analysis.SETTING: Department of Plastic Surgery, Shenzhen People's Hospital,Second Clinical Medical College of Jinan University.PARTICIPANTS: A total of 15 ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and huge breast benign tumor patients were enrolled into Shenzhen People's Hospital between October 1997 and May 2004, aged from 20 to 46 years. They all got disease in single breast, and 8 of them had preoperative diagnosis of DCIS, T1N0M0 and 7 of them had huge breast benign tumor. Operation program was informed to the patients before operation so as to gain their agreement.METHODS: Skin-sparing mastectomy was performed with circular shape incision at areola and using TRAM flap, latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous flap with breast prothesis, local flap and simple breast prothesis to fill breast. Slight skin of musculo-cutaneous flap could compensate the nipple and areola when performing reconstruction. At the reoperation, nipple was made at the transferred flap.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: To observe the patients with or without recurrence or transfer after operation and local healing of wound.RESULTS: With the cooperation of general surgeons the operation was done in 15 cases and 14 cases of them were followed up for more than 1 year. The reconstructed breasts were with good symmetry with the opposite one, normal skin sensation, natural shape and inconspicuous scar.CONCLUSION: This is an excellent alternative method for mastectomy and breast reconstruction based on the avoidance of recurrence of breast cancer in severe operation.
