1.To research the clinical, paraclinical characteristic of ductus arteriosus in newborns at National Institute of Pediatrics from 2000 – 2003
Journal of Practical Medicine 2004;478(4):30-34
A retrospective survey on 31 cases of patent ductus arterious diagnosed echocardiographically at the National Institute of Pediatrics in 2000-2003 year period. The disease occurred mainly in prematurily newlyborn infants (74.2%) continuous murmur was found in 10%, systolic murmur in 90% of case in the average age of infant of 5.1 2 days. In premature newborn, their condition was usually combined with the post natal respiratory distress, while in immature newborn infants, it was congenital abnormality and fetal malnutrition. The most common sign was respiratory distress in combining with other respiratory pathologies (58.1%). On X-ray image, 73.1% had had large left heart, proportionally with the sign of urterial duct. The increase of pulmonary arterial pressure in medium levels was common. The > 3mm diameter of arterial duct had impacted to clinical features and hemohynamics of the patients.

2.Initial results of laparoscopic heminephroureterectomy for ureteral and renal duplication
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2003;0(4):37-39
The study included 20 pediatric patients with ureteral and renal duplication that were operated laparoscopically at the Surgery Department of the Central Paediatrics Hospital from July 2001 to March 2005. 40% of the patients below one year old, 50% from 1 to 5 year old and 10% from 6 to 10 year old. Clinical symptoms included: strangury 40%, urinary infections 55%, and random detection 5%. Results: the operation was performed successfully in these patients, except 1 case had to opened operation because of sticky nephritis. The average operative time was 115 minutes. The results showed that laparoscopic heminephroureterectomy was safe and feasible

3.Investigation on utilization situation of antipyretic pharmaceutical products containing PPA by visiting some pharmacies in the area of Hanoi
Pharmaceutical Journal 2003;328(8):30-32
A survey on PPA-containing products consumption was conducted in 10 pharmacies located in Hanoi from February to May 2002. It revealed that there were 20 such products available in the market(of them, 16 were domestic). The PPA content as base form in a single dose of all these preparations was not exceeded 25mg. During the studied period, out of 250 people buying medication for cough and cold, 74 people (29.6% bought PPA-containing products with the most purchased ones were Decolgen forte and Rhumenol. Many patients with cough and cold consumed relatively high amount of PPA, not being aware of its adverse effects and contraindications

Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(6):10-18
Undetermined gender divided into 4 groups including female pseudohermaphroditism, male pseudohermaphroditism, true pseudohermaphroditism and others. This paper introduced the studies on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of 4 above mentioned groups of diseases. The approach methods of causative diagnosis of undetermined gender (ambiguous genitalia) including clinical approaches, chromosome tests, biochemical tests, genital tract X-ray and genital biopsy.

6.Livers transplantation for children suffering from congenital biliary atresia in the National Institute of Pediatrics
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(11):30-34
During 5 years (1994-1998), 147 children suffering from congenital biliary atresia were admitted to NIP. Clinical manifestations include icterus, discolored stool and hepatomegaly. The gallbladder is absent; ultrasonography shows that its diameter doesn't change before, during and after meal in all patients. 136 patients among those children require a liver's transplantation. It means that, every years, there were 27 children suffering from biliary atresia who require a liver's transplantation.

7.Results of the treatment of posterior urethral valve by endoscopic resection
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2002;1():32-35
The aim of the study is to investigate clinical and laboratory findings of posterior urethral valve, and to evaluate the result of management by endoscopic resection. During 3 years (1998-2000), 28 children were treated in National Institute of Pediatrics. The main clinical findings were dysuria and urinary pseudo incontinence. Voiding cystography was a tool for confirming the diagnosis. The endoscopic resection was a method of choice in the treatment.

8.Preliminary results of the treatment of Hirschprung's disease by survey through posterior sagittal approach
Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;(6):35-38
The aim of the study is to describe the technique of operation for Hirschprung's disease by a Soave modified procedure through the posterior sagittal approach, to propose the indications and to evaluate the early result. From January 2000 to April 2000, 26 children suffering from Hirschprung's disease were operated by this technique. There was no mortality during and after operation. The anastomosis leakage occurred in one patient. The posterior sagittal approach is a convenient and safe one in survey for Hirschprung's disease with the ganglionic segment involves in the rectum and sigmoid.

Journal of Medical and Pharmaceutical Information 2001;9():28-31
This was the first time in Vietnam, an infant with Hyperinsulinemic glycemia has been surgical treated in the Institute of Mother and infant protection and care. Newborn with ages of 10 days admitted to hospital with diagnosis of Hyperinsulinemic glycemia. The results have shown that liver and spleen was normal, size and density of pancreas were normal without tumor, exocrine glands were normal, there was hyperplasia of island of Langerhans which generated the abnormal size, multinuclear cells or megakaryocytic with thick wall. 95% of pancreas was removed
