Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM)is a malignant cancer originated from pleural meso-thelial cell. The diagnosis of MPMis based on biopsy of pleura and immunohistochemistry. The current treat-ment of MPM is multimodality therapy including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy. There are two major surgical procedures:extrapleural pneumonectomy and pleurectomy/decortication.The main of radiotherapy is three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy.Cisplatinum combined with pemetrexed is the first-line chemotherapy for the patients with MPM.The principal targets for immunotherapy include regulatory T cells, cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen-4 and PD-1 .

Purpose To investigate the correlation between the brain white matter changes of MR diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) and cognitive function in the patients with mild cognitive impairment. Materials and Methods The patients (40 cases) were classified into two groups:group A (20 patients with ischemic foci in the deep white matter ) and group B (20 patients without ischemic foci in the deep white matter), and 20 normal controls was enrolled. Conventional MRI, DTI, mini-mental state examination (MMSE) and montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) were applied, then fractional anisotropy (FA) value and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value were compared among three groups. The scores of MoCA was analyzed between the patient groups. Results The decreased FA value, increased ADC value and decreased MoCA scores was demonstrate in group A, and showed significant difference compared with group B (t=-4.229,-3.251,-7.533,-2.702,-2.660;P<0.05). The increased ADC value and decreased FA value in the frontal and hippocampus region were detected in group B compared with normal controls (t=-7.790,-2.785,-4.415,-5.164;P<0.05). Conclusion The early and special structural changes can be detected using DTI compared with conventional MRI. The severe white matter lesions can be demonstrated in the patients with ischemic foci in the deep white matter, who is prone to dementia.

OBJECTIVETo study the change of endogenous metabolites of SD rats administrated of aqueous extract of Evodiae rutaecarpa.
METHODSix SD rats had been successively administrated aqueous extract of E. rutaecarpa (0.3857 g x kg(-1)) for 33 days. An agilent 1200 6410 triplequadrupole mass spectrometer was used for the analysis of endogenous metabolites in rat urine samples. These data was analyzed by the principal component analysis (PCA) and PLS-DA using the SIMCA-P 10.0 software.
RESULTThe significant difference in metabolic profiles between the control group and the dosed group was well observed by PCA of the MS data.
CONCLUSIONThe E. rulaecarpa has changed the endogenous metabolites of SD rats. This work can provide the base for the further research on the interpretation of drug property of E. rulaecarpa.

OBJECTIVETo study the expression of HIF-1alpha and SDF-1/CXCR4 in repopulating H22 tumor tissue and the mechanism of angiogenesis of polypeptide extract from scorpion venom (PESV) during chemotherapy treatment.
METHODThe expression of HIF-1alpha and SDF-1/CXCR4 in H22 tumor tissue was monitored by immunohistochemistry, and the expression level was determined by Qwin V3 image analyzing software. The correlation between HIF-1alpha and SDF-1 was analyzed. SDF-1 content was detected by ELISA.
RESULTHIF-1alpha expression was found no difference in model group between 14 d and 21 d, and up-regulated in 28 d. There was no change of HIF-1alpha expression was observed in low-dose PESV group. In high-dose PESV group, the level of HIF-1alpha expression was high in 14 d and low in 21 d. ELISA detecting showed SDF-1 content increased slowly from 14 d to 21 d, highly from 21 d to 28 d. But in high-dose PESV groups, the content increased slowly all the time. The immunohitochemistry method got the same result with ELISA. Correlation analysis showed r = 0.805. CXCR4 expression down-regulated in two PESV treated groups, and no difference was found between these two groups.
CONCLUSIONHIF-1alpha and SDF-1 participated in VEGF expression and angiogenesis in tumor tissue during chemotherapy, while PESV could inhibit the expression of HIF-1alpha and SDF-I.
