[Objective]This study was designed to investigate capability of the conditioned media that originated from Renca cells to convert CIM~+ CD25~- T cells into CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells, which can exert immunosuppressive effect on effector T cells in vitro and in vivo.[Methods]The common media were mixed with the conditioned media at different ratios, and fresh enriched CD4~+ CD25~- T cells with MACS were cultured in mixed media for 7 days.At end-point of culture, the cells were collected and detected phenotypes in flow cytometer. Moreover,we detected immunosuppressive effect of converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells on effeetor T cells proliferation in one-way mixed lymphocytes reaction by using CCK-8,and we observed survival time and histology of grafts. The delayed type hypersensitivity was determined 14 days after transplantation.[Results]The mixed media could increase ratio of CD4~+ CD25~+ Foxp3~+ T cells in conditioned media ratio-dependent(P<0.05),compared with control groups, when the mixed media contained no mote than 75% of conditioned media. The converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells significantly suppress proliferation of effector T cells in vitro, and prolong survival time of grafts, which were(29.6±1.4)d in converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells treated groups(P<0.05),compared with that in untreated groups(9.8±0.6 d)or PBS treated groups(10.9±0.6 d).Moreover,delayed-type hypersensitivity reaction were conducted at day 14 after transplantation in the recipients, and the results showed that less pad swelling in the group treated with converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells than other control groups was found, according to measurement of pad swelling. In addition, progressed to complete necrosis of grafts were exhibited in the mice treated with PBS and untreated mice, whereas better healing of grafts and less lymphocytes infiltration were displayed in the mice treated with converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells, which were similar to the mice treated with natural regulatory T cells.[Conclusion]The converted CD4~+ CD25~+ T cells with Renca conditioned media play suppressive role in vitro and in vivo.

On the basis of extensive field investigation and a series of herbarium specimen identifications, we present and discuss the descriptions and distribution of 22 species of Ramalina found in the Hengduan Mountains of southwestern China. In this revisionary study, representatives of the Ramalina genus, including R. americana, R. confirmata, R. dendriscoides, R. obtusata, R. pacifica, R. pentecostii, R. peruviana, R. shinanoana, and R. subcomplanata are found for the first time in this area. In addition, R. holstii is reported for the first time China. Finally, a newly described species identified as Ramalina hengduanshanensis S. O. Oh & L. S. Wang is reported. It is characterized as growing from a narrow holdfast, solid, sparsely or richly and irregularly dichotomously branched, palmate and flattened lobes with distinctly dorsiventral appearance, surface rugose to reticulate, surface rugosely cracked, dense chondroid tissue, helmet shaped soralia at the tip. The species grows on rock and tree at the highest elevations in this area. Although very few lichen species belonging to the genus Ramalina have been collected above 4,000 m, this new species is found at this elevation. We present detailed morphological, anatomical, and chemical descriptions of this species along with molecular phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer rDNA sequences.

Mycobiology 2009;37(3):189-196
A taxonomic study of Peltigera in South Korea was performed. The phylogenetic analysis based on nr DNA internal transcribed spacer sequences suggests that Peltigera is a well-supported monophyletic group. Important characteristics are the phycobiont type of thallus and the vein type at the lower cortex (wide and flat, or narrow and ridged). The vertical or horizontal arrangement of the apothecia is also important in distinguishing species in this genus. Eleven species of Peltigera were revealed and confirmed, which included one new record, P. elisabethae. A description of each species is presented with morphological, anatomic, and chemical characteristics, and comparisons between similar species are made. A key to the species is also presented.

Three species of Coccocarpia have been reported from Korean Peninsular. However, there was no revisional study on this genus before. After careful examination of the specimens deposited in the Korean Lichen Research Institute (KoLRI) and collected from main mountain areas of Korea, two species of Coccocarpia, C. palmicola and C. erythroxyli, have been revealed to occur and confirmed in South Korea. The presence and absence of isidia and apothecia are the most important characters for the South Korean species. We provide the detailed description and illustration of the available two species. A key to the species is also provided.

Seventy-two lichen specimens of Cetrelia collected in South Korea since 2003 were examined by both phenotypic and phylogenetic analyses. The phenotypic analysis was based on morphological and chemical characters, and the phylogenetic analysis was based on nrDNA ITS sequences. The result suggested that the presence and absence of isidia, soredia, lobules and medullar reaction C+ or C- are the important characters in the taxonomy of this genus. Four species of Cetrelia, C. chicitae, C. braunsiana, C. japonica, and C. pseudolivetorum have been identified in this study. Description of each species is presented with morphological and chemical characters. A key to the Cetrelia species is also presented.

Mycobiology 2019;47(2):191-199
Most of lichens are formed by Ascomycota, less than 1% are lichenized Basidiomycota. The flora investigation of lichenized Ascomycota of South Korea has been well studied in the past three decades; however, prior to this study, none of basidiolichens was discovered. During the recent excursion, an unexpected clavarioid basidiolichen, Sulzbacheromyces sinensis was collected. Morphology and ecology has been recorded in detail. DNA was extracted, and ITS, 18S, 28S nuclear rDNA were generated. In order to further confirm the systematic position of the Korean specimens, maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference analysis including all the species of the order Lepidostromatales were conducted based on the ITS. As a result, the phylogenetic tree of the order Lepidostromatales was reconstructed, which differed from the previous studies. The inferred phylogenetic tree showed that species of Sulzbacheromyces in three different continents (Asia, South Africa and South America) were separated into three clades with support. In this study, the species worldwide distribution map of Lepidostromatales was illustrated, and S. sinensis had a widest distribution range (paleotropical extend to the Sino-Japanese) than other species (paleotropical or neotropical). Prior to this study, the range of distribution, southernmost and northernmost points and the fruiting time of S. sinensis were recorded, and the genus Sulzbacheromyces was firstly reported from Korean peninsula and Philippines.

Chinese Journal of Preventive Medicine 2016;50(3):213-216
OBJECTIVEThe level of blood hemoglobin and the anemia status of Chinese urban residents in 2010-2012 was analyzed.
METHODSAll the data in this study came from the China Nutrition and Health Survey in 2010-2012. By using multi-stage stratified sampling and population proportional stratified random sampling method, 74 276 residents aged above 6 from 34 metropolis and 41 middle-sized and small cities were included in this study. The concentration of blood hemoglobin was determined by cyanmethemoglobin method. Anemia was judged by the anemia standard recommended by WHO, combined with elevation correction standard. The level of blood hemoglobin, the prevalence of anemia and the 95%CI value were analyzed by using the complex sampling weighted processing, combined with the population figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics in 2009.
RESULTSIn 2010-2012, the level of blood hemoglobin of Chinese city population was(144.16 ± 0.78)g/L, (152.88 ± 0.94)g/L for male and(135.01 ± 0.71)g/L for female, while (145.65 ± 1.22)g/L for metropolis and (143.90 ± 0.89)g/L for small and medium-sized. The anemia prevalence of Chinese city population (pregnant women were not included) was 9.7%(95%CI: 9.4%-10.1%), 6.8%(95%CI: 6.4%-7.3%) for male and 12.8%(95%CI: 12.2%-13.4%) for female, while 8.5%(95% CI: 8.0%-9.0%) for metropolis and 10.0%(95%CI: 9.5%-10.4%) for small and medium-sized. The anemia prevalence of 18-44 women (15.4%, 95%CI: 14.3%-16.6%) was the highest among all the age-groups, and the average anemia prevalence of people more than 60 years-old (including) (12.5%, 95%CI: 11.8%-13.2%) was higher than the other age-groups.
CONCLUSIONThe anemia prevalence of Chinese city population in 2010-2012 was obviously decreased in comparison of 10 years ago, while, more attention and improvement measures should be take upon women at reproductive age and the elder people.
