1.Discussion on the Method and Practice of Performance Management of Large Medical Equipment in Hospital

Objective:To discuss the performance management method for large medical equipments in hospitals.Methods:13 large medical equipments in a large hospital were selected as samples and the economic efficiency analysis method and comprehensive evaluation method were aaplied to carry out performance management of medical equipment.Results:11 sets of medical equipment had good economic returns,the remaining 2 sets of equipments had a greater degree of loss due to lack of business and lack of qualification.Conclusion:Performance management of large medical equipments would help change the efficiency management of equipment from extensive to elaborate management.
2.Imaging signs for predicting hematoma enlargement in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage

Hematoma enlargement is a common harmful event after cerebral hemorrhage, which can lead to deterioration of neurological function and poor outcome. Early detection of high-risk patients can help prevent hematoma enlargement and improve the outcome of patients. Although the exact mechanism of hematoma enlargement is unclear, more and more evidence shows that many imaging signs may be related to hematoma enlargement, such as dot sign, mixed sign, black hole sign, island sign, etc. This article mainly reviews the relevant imaging prediction factors of hematoma enlargement from the perspective of imaging.
3.Effectiveness analysis of comprehensive measures to control the plague in the epidemic areas in Longlin county Guangxi from 2001 to 2010

Objective To evaluating the effectiveness of comprehensive measures to control the plague in epidemic areas in Longlin county Guangxi from 2001 to 2010.Methods Original epidemic places was deratised,indicative animals were investigated,and epidemic clues were searched.Cage trapping method was used to capture rat and rat body fleas were collected in the plague epidemic areas.The flea-carrying rates and flea index of rodents were calculated based on the number of fleas collected from caged rodents.The animals were then subjected to etiological and serological tests to determine the plague infection rate.Results A total of 1008 rats were captured and 571 fleas were collected from 2001 to 2010,of which Rattus Flavipestus accounted tor 81.65%(823/1008) and Xenopsylla Cheopis for 64.10%(366/571).The annual average rodents infected with flea and the index of flea were 23.02% (177/769) and 0.74,respectively.The annual average density of rodents decreased from 3.99% (859/21 508,before deratised) to 0.96% (149/15 600,after deratised).The deratization rate was 75.94%.Conclusion The risk of a plague epidemic in Longlin county is reduced after continued comprehensive measures be taken to deal with the disease.
4.Observation of curative effect of bronchoscope implantation radioactive 125I particles in the treatment of central type lung cancer with atelectasis

Objective To investigate short-term efficacy and safety of bronchoscope implantation radioactive 125I particle in the treatment of central type lung cancer with atelectasis.Methods Bronchoscopy implantation radioactivity 125I particles were used for treatment of 21 patients with central lung cancer.The puncture points were selected at 12:00,3:00, 6:00,9:00 on the center of the tumor surface.After penetrating into the lesions,each particle distance was kept about 0.5 cm,and 6-10 particles were implanted.The cough and gasp index were observed in patients after 2 weeks of surgery.The bronchial lumen dilatation variety was observed by bronchoscopy 1 month after surgery. The chest CT was re-checked to review the situation of atelectasis. Results The cough and gasp index were reduced 2 weeks after surgery (P<0.01). Compared with preoperation,18 cases showed bronchial lumen enlarged and 6 cases showed the lumen new biological mass disappeared completely after operation. The chest CT scan one month after surgery showed that atelectasis re-expansion completely in 13 cases,partial re-expansion in 8 cases.All of patients were followed up for 6 to 24 months,and the median survival was 12 months with less complications. Conclusion The bronchoscope implantation radioactive 125I particles are effective and safe for treatment of central type lung cancer with atelectasis.
5.Dosimetric study of postoperative 3-dimensional conformal radiotherapy and coplanar decile intensity-modulated radiotherapy for cervical cancer.

OBJECTIVETo compare the difference of the dose distribution in clinical target volume and organ at risk (OAR) between coplanar decile field intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and conventional three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) for postoperative radiotherapy of cervical cancer.
METHODSTen postoperative patients with cervical cancer were selected randomly to undergo CT scan and planning target volume (PTV) and OAR contouring. 3D-CRT and coplanar decile IMRT planning was performed for each patient with a prescribed dose of 50 Gy. The homogeneity index (HI), conformity index (CI), maximum dose, minimum dose, mean dose of PTV, and irradiated volume of OARs were calculated and the results were compared.
RESULTS5-field IMRT, 7-field IMRT and 9-field IMRT plans had a significant better conformity index (CI) of PTV compared with 3D-CRT (P<0.05) . Compared with 3D-CRT plans , V30, V40, and V50 of the bladder, V50 of the small bowel, and V30, V40, and V50 of the rectum in the coplanar decile IMRT plans were all significantly reduced (P<0.05) but showed no significant differences among the IMRT plans (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONCoplanar decile IMRT plans is superior to 3D-CRT plan in terms of the conformity index (CI) of the PTV and sparing the bladder, rectum and small bowel. Seven-field and 9-field IMRT do not warrant more benefits than 5-field IMRT, and the latter can significantly reduce the treatment time and costs.

6.Enhanced external counterpulsation treatment attenuate the injury of brain dog model of cardiac arrest

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects of enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP) on cerebral edema and cerebral blood flow perfusion with MRI following cardiac arrest (CA) and on successful return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) by cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in dogs.Methods Sixteen beagle dogs were induced CA with alternating current on epicardium,then were randomly (random number) divided into the EECP and control group after successful ROSC.MR scanning brain of all animals was carried out by diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and perfusion weighted imaging (PWI) before CA and on the first,second and third days after ROSC.Blood pressure,right common carotid artery flow,and intracranial microcirculation perfusion were measured.Results There were no significant differences in mean artery pressure at all intervals between two groups (P > 0.05).There was significant increase in right common carotid artery blood flow and intracranial microcirculation of dogs in EECP group compared with the control group (P < 0.05).Apparent diffusion coefficients (ADC) of water molecule on the first and third days after ROSC were significantly higher in the EECP group than those in the control group (P < 0.05).Ratios of post-ROSC relative cerebral blood flow (RCBF) /original cerebral blood flow were higher in the EECP group than those in the control group on the first,second and third days after ROSC (P < 0.05).Conclusions EECP treatment could improve cerebral blood flow perfusion and relieve ischemic cerebral edema,alleviating brain injury in dogs following CA and successful ROSC.

Multi-component traditional Chinese medicines are an innovative research mode for traditional Chinese medicines. Currently, there are many design methods for developing multi-component traditional Chinese medicines, but their common feature is the lack of effective connection of the traditional Chinese medicine theory. In this paper, the authors discussed the multi-component traditional Chinese medicine design methods based on medicinal property combination modes, provided the combination methods with the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine for the prescription combinations, and proved its feasibly with hypertension cases.

8.Plague surveillance and control in Longlin county Guangxi from 2000 to 2009

Objective To analyze the outcome of surveillance results on plague and to provide the evidences for the policy making in Longlin county Guangxi. Methods The epidemic data and the surveillance results of plague were analyzed and assessed with epidemiology methods in Longlin county Guangxi from 2000 to 2009, and the density of rodents, the rodents infected with flea, flea index and other indicators were calculated. Regional composition of the rats and fleas were analyzed. Results A totally of 4829 rats were captured and 4737 fleas were collected in the past 10 years, Rattus Flavipestus(81.92%,3956/4829) and Xenopsylla Cheopis (79.04%,3744/4737) were dominant species. The annual average density of rodents, the rodents infected with flea, index of flea were 3.30%(4829/146 206), 27.99%(1351/4827) and 0.98(4737/4827), respectively. A totally of 4792 rats were examined and 10 strains Yersinia Pestis were isolated. Indirect hemorrhagic assessed(IHA) was used to test the F1 antibody against plague in the blood serum of the rats and indicator animals, and 3 positive rats and 24 positive animals were found, respectively. Twenty seven natural villages in 3 towns had been involved in the plague. Conclusions The plague foci exists in Longlin county of Guangxi province. The plague foci in the areas have the same feature with the plague foci of Rattus Flavipectus. There is a potential risk for plague in this region, we should improve the quality of surveillance, increase indicator animals of the plague, and try to apply new surveillance method.

10.Differential thymosin beta 10 expression levels and actin filament organization in tumor cell lines with different metastatic potential.

BACKGROUNDTo investigate the differential expression levels of thymosin beta 10 (T beta 10) and the corresponding changes of actin filament organization in human tumor cell lines with different metastatic potential.
METHODSFour groups of nine human tumor cell lines with different metastatic potential were analyzed for the amount of T beta 10 mRNAs by Northern blot and for their peptide expression levels by immunohistochemistry. The filamentous actin (F-actin) was observed by staining of TRITC-phalloidin to detect changes in actin organization.
RESULTSIn comparison with non-/weakly metastatic counterparts, T beta 10 was upregulated in highly metastatic human lung cancer, malignant melanoma and breast cancer cell lines. Staining of TRITC-phalloidin revealed less actin bundles, a fuzzy network of shorter filaments and some F-actin aggregates in the highly metastatic tumor cells. Meanwhile, the actin filaments were robust and orderly arranged in the non-/weakly metastatic cancer cell lines.
CONCLUSIONT beta 10 levels correlate positively with the metastatic capacity in human tumors currently examined. The increasing metastatic potential of tumor cells is accompanied by a loss of F-actin, poorly arranged actin skeleton organizations and presence of F-actin aggregates. There is a consistent correlation between the elevated T beta 10 expression and the disrupted actin skeleton.
