Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2010;17(18):2449-2451
Objective To evaluate the clinical value of the quantitative detection of plasma 1,3-β-D-glucan in penicilliposis marneffei. Methods The 1,3-β-D-glucan concentrations were detected by using a G test. Results In 60 New Zealand rabbits infected by Penicillium marneffei, the levels of 1,3-β-D-glucan were positively correlated with infectious severity. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive rate and negative predictive rate were 88.3%、100%、 100% and 58.8% respectively, which were significantly higher than those of the control group(P <0.01 ).Conclusion The quantitative method for the detection of 1,3-β-D-glucan in plasma was simple, sensitive and reliable, and could be used as the assisting diagnosis of penicilliposis marneffei at early stage.

ObjectiveTo observe the morphological changes of enteric nerve-interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) network in rats with the bacterial peritonitis, and to investigate the main cause of gastrointestinal dysfunction and gastrointestinal failure with the bacterial peritonitis. Methods Sixty Wistar rats of both sexes were randomly divided into two groups. The model of the bacterial peritonitis was established. To record the frequency and amplitude of slow wave in myoelectricity of intestine in vivo to assess the function of the intestine motility. The proximal 10.0 cm segment of jejunum beginning 2 cm distal to the pylorus from each group was studied using c-Kit and vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VAChT)/ neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) immunohistochemical double-staining with whole-mount preparation technique and laser scanning confocal microscopy(CLSM). Results Compared the result of the bacterial peritonitis group with the normal group, it was found that the frequency and amplitude of slow wave in myoelectricity of intestine of the bacterial peritonitis group were slower and lower than the normal group, CLSM scanned ICC network showed that compared with the control group, the distributions and densities of ICC of intestine in the bacterial peritonitis group decreased significantly(P<0.01), the number of ICC synapse decreased, the cell junction between ICC and the ICC network was disrupted, and the fluorescence intension of cell decreased. CLSM scanned enteric nerve-ICC network indicated that compared with the control group, in the bacterial peritonitis group, the distributions and densities of cholinergic nerves (P<0.01)/ nitrergic nerves(P<0.01)and ICC(P<0.01)of intestine significantly decreased respectively, the cell junction between enteric nerve and enteric nerve -ICC network was disrupted, and the fluorescence intension of enteric nerve -ICC network decreased. The network of cholinergic/nitrergic nerve-ICC was disrupted. Conclusion The number of cholinergic nerves and nitrergic nerves were reduced, and the enteric nerve-ICC network was damaged in rats with bacterial peritonitis. Gastrointestinal motility dysfunction can be caused by the bacterial peritonitis.

Objective Using surface electromyography (sEMG) techniques to investigate the patterns of frequency domain indexes of sEMC signals recorded from adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients' paraspinal muscles. Methods Twenty-five AIS patients were enrolled. All the patients undertook the Biering Sorensen test ( BST) ,the object-lifting test and a semi-bridge test, the ME3000P sEMG instrument was applied to record the electric activities of paraspinal muscles (convex/concave) of all subjects, and the time domain indexes such as averaged EMG(AEMG)and spectrum area(SPA) were analyzed, values in three tests were compared with one way ANOVA. Results The differences of AEMGs and SPAs on both convex and concave sides among the three tests showed no statistical significances (P = 0. 10,0.23, 0. 24 and 0. 45, respectively). Conclusions Any of the Biering Sorensen test( BST) , the object-lifting test or the semi-bridge test can be used to test the electric activities of paraspinal muscles (convex/concave) of AIS patients.

40/h) and non-severe group(n=15,AHI 5-40/h).Anthropometric measurements, fasting plasma glucose, insulin, blood fat,and CT quantitative measurement of abdominal adipose tissue were recorded. Results Insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR) in patients with OSAS was related to hypoxia independently of obesity variables. The severe group was characterized by more serious metabolic disorders and higher prevalence of metabolic syndrome than the non-severe group.OSAS was positively associated with an increased metabolic disorders risk for the severe group versus the non-severe group(OR=8.8).Using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis, waist circumference had the greatest areas under the ROC curves compared with body mass index and neck circumference. The results of multiple stepwise regression of lowest pulse oxygen saturation(LSpO2)during overnight sleep indicated that neck circumference followed by epworth sleepiness score(ESS) entered the equation(P

Objective:To develop a two-step method for purification of monoclonal antibody rhTF243 protein from mouse ascites by using hydrophobic charge induction chromatography(HCIC) and affinity chromatography with protein A sepharose CL-4B.Methods:The ascites was first purified by HCIC after centrifugation and filtration. Then the fraction containing the protein of interest was directly purified by affinity chromatography with protein A sepharose CL-4B.Results:The purity of the obtained monoclonal antibody was up to 97% with recovery of 73% and of high activity. Conclusion:The method for purification of monoclonal antibody is developed using HCIC and Protein A affinity chromatography and the obtained antibodies are of high purity and activity.

Objective To explore the clinical value of intra-arterial thrombolytic therapy for hepatic artery thrombosis after liver transplantation. Methods Routine color doppler imaging (CDI) was used to detect hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT) after liver transplantation in 160 cases. Suspected patients were further confirmed by immediate angiography. Four cases of HAT were diagnosed and treated by intra-arterial thrombolysis. Two cases received repeatable transcatheter hepatic arterial thrombolysis with a low dose of urokinase. Results Hepatic artery recanalization was achieved in 3 cases. Among the 3 cases, multiple HAT occurred in 1 case, intra-arterial thrombolysis was successfully completed in the end. Two cases had intra-abdominal hemorrhage, which was cured by conservative treatment. One case received retransplantation because of interventional thrombolysis failure and intra-abdominal hemorrhage. Conclusion Intra-arterial thrombolytic therapy may be a promising method in the treatment of HAT. Transcatheter hepatic arterial thrombolysis shows a significant result.

To analyze complications of hyperbar ic treatment and the management of these complications. Methods: There are 129 cases treated with huperbaria, 125 were severe head injury, 2 were brain infarction, one was carbon monoxide toxication and an other was anesthesia accident. These complications were analyzed. Results: There were 7 of 129 cases suffered with headache and vertigo, one of them was dead. Conclusion: Severe h ead injury patients treated with hyperbaria must be careful, cease the huperbaric treatmen t immediately whenever patients feel discomfort.
