AIM: To evaluate the effects of radiotherapy combined IL 2 in the treatment of the transferred remnant of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in jugular lymph. METHODS: Treatment group (n=32) was given radiation DA 6000 6800 cGy combined an injection of IL 2 4 (104 u (three times each week). A routine radiation DA 6000 6800 cGy was adopted as a control group in another 31 cases. RESULTS: Lymph disappearance rate at treatment and control group reached 93.8 % and 71.0 %, respectively (P

In order to treat or prevent portal vein metastases of liver cancer, intraportal chemotherapies were carried on in 18 and in 42 patients with and without portal vein thrombosis. The agents used were Pharmorubicin 30 mg, Mitomycin—C 8 mg and 5—Flurouracil 500 mg. The results showed that the incidence of portal thrombosis in preventive group (19.04%) was lower than that in control group (38.9%) (P

Vaccination has been proved to be the most effective strategy to prevent the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). The mRNA vaccine based on nano drug delivery system (NDDS) - lipid nanoparticles (LNP) has been widely used because of its high effectiveness and safety. Although there have been reports of severe allergic reactions caused by mRNA-LNP vaccines, the mechanism and components of anaphylaxis have not been completely clarified yet. This review focuses on two mRNA-LNP vaccines, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273. After summarizing the structural characteristics, potential allergens, possible allergic reaction mechanism, and pharmacokinetics of mRNA and LNP

To better evaluate neuromuscular function of patients with stroke related motor dysfunction, we proposed an effective corticomuscular coherence analysis and coherent significant judgment method. Firstly, the related functional frequency bands in the electroencephalogram (EEG) were extracted via wavelet decomposition. Secondly, coherence were analysed between surface electromyography (sEMG) and sub-bands extracted from EEG. Further more, a coherent significant indicator was defined to quantitatively describe the similarity in certain frequency domain and phase lock activity between EEG and sEMG. Through the analysis of corticomuscular coherence during knee flexion-extension of stroke patients and healthy controls, we found that the stroke patients exhibited significantly lower gamma-band corticomuscular coherence in performing the task with their affected leg, and there was no statistically significant difference between their unaffected lag and the healthy controls, but with the rehabilitation training, the bilateral difference of corticomuscular coherence in patients decreased gradually.

Objective To sequence and analyze the near full-length genome of an HIV-1 subtype G strain identified in Guangxi,China. Methods The demographic information of an individual infected with HIV-1 subtype G strain was investigated, whose peripherial blood was collected.Viral RNA in plasma was extracted. The near full-length genome of HIV was amplified in two halves using RT-nested-PCR.The PCR products were purified and sequenced.Phylogenetic analysis was made using MEGA6 software. Results A near full-length genome of 8847 bp was obtained. In the neighbor-joining tree, the strain clustered with subtype G references,as supported by the high Bootstrap value (100%).The closest phylogenetic relationship was found between our strain and another subtype G strain (JN106043)previously identified in Guangxi, which was supported by the genetic distance (5%)and high Bootstrap value (100%).Conclusion The strain identified in the study might have originated from subtype G strains in Guangxi, suggesting that subtype G has spread locally in Guangxi.Further surveillance of subtype G epidemic in Guangxi is necessary. The near full-length subtype G strain genome will provide information for the surveillance of HIV in Guangxi.

Objective To select early prediction indexes related to the prognosis of severe hepatitis in ultrasonography, and evaluate its clinical value. Methods Clinical data of 269 cases of severe hepatitis patients was analyzed retrospectively.Cox proportional hazards regression model was adopted to analyze 13 possible prediction ultrasonic parameters for severe hepatitis, including thickness of the right hepatic lobe, portal vein (PV) diameter, volume of ascites, etc. After selected from these parameters, the clinical value of early prediction factor was evaluated with ROC curve. Results Multivariate analysis showed that thickness of the right hepatic lobe, portal vein (PV) diameter, opening of paraumbilical vein and bile viscosity were related to the death of severe hepatitis patients (P < 0.05).The thickness of the right hepatic lobe contributed most (Wald =40.479),its sensitivity and specificity for prediction were 93.4%,82.8% respectively(P < 0.01).Conclusions Thickness of the right hepatic lobe,PV diameter, opening paraumbilical vein and bile viscosity are early prediction factors for severe hepatitis, need to be monitored in treatment, especially for thickness of the right hepatic lobe.

Traditional Chinese Drug Research & Clinical Pharmacology 1993;0(03):-
Experimental studies showed that the water extract of rhubarb had low content of anthraquinone and a strong purgative while the alcohol extract a high content of anthraquinone and was free of purgative action, even tannin was eliminated. The purgative action of the water extract was also last when mixed with alcohol extract. The experimental results coincide with the traditional experience in Chinese medicinal theory:"the fresh Rhubarb has a purgative action while rhubarb prepared with wine can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis."However, from the angle of anthraquinone and tannin, the explanation is unreasonable. It is indicated that the purgative action of rhubarb is greatly influenced, even disappears when prepared with alcohol. So, attention should be paid in the preparation process of Chinese patent drugs containing rhubarb.

Objective To explore the relationship between the endemic arsenism and the liver, renal damage. Methods Some permanent residents were selected as investigated subjects who lived at 3 villages in Datong in Shanxi Province,an arseniasis-endemic areas,These objects were divided into arsenic poisoning and control group on the basis of Diagnosis Standard for Endemic Arsenism(WS/T 211-2001).Then blood and urine samples were collected in the surveyed people.Serum glutamate pyruvic transaminase(ALT)were detected by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay as the indicator of the impaired hepatic function. The microdosis albumen (mAlb)and acetylglucosaminidase(NAG)in urine were detected by end-point method and alkaline picric acid as the renal damage indicators. Results A total of 661 people investigated,of which 144 cases were arsenic poisoning patients. The rates of abnormal liver function were significant hisher in arsenic poisoning group[10.42% (15/144)]than that in control[5.22%(27/517)],and both wag significant[X2=5.107,P<0.05;OR=2.11,95%CI (1.09-4.08)].The geometric mean of mAlb/Ucr was 2.16 mg/g Cr in control, and 2.31 mg/g Cr in arsenic poisoning group, and both was not significant(t=-1.71,P>0.05).The geometric mean of NAG waft higher in arsenic poisoning group(2.43 U/g Cr)than that in the control(2.22 U/g Cr),and both was significant(t=-3.55, P<0.05).Conclusions The damage of the liver and renal function were related with endemic arsenism, and NAG is the early indicators suggesting impaired renal function due to endemic arsenism.
