Now the treatment of lymphoma mainly uses combined chemotherapy and radiotherapy.Es- pecially hemopoietic stem cell transplantation is effective in the treatment to the patients with refractory and later stage.During the recent years the domestic and foreign scholars have obtained the encouraging results with arsenic trioxide to treat lymphoma.This article has reviewed the experimental study and the clinical re- search progress about arsenic trioxide in application to lymphoma cells.

Following ageing, memory and learning attenuate apparently. Mechanisms responsible for the aging related memory and learning deficit may involve in synaptic morphology and fanction deterioration in hippocampas, changes of central neurotransmitter systems、 brain intracellular calcium ions concentration、 gene expression and neurotrophasthemic etc. The mechanisms of aging related attenuation in memory and learning is summarized.

BACKGROUND:Metabolic syndrome greatly harms the human body, and is affected by many factors. Through constructing diet-induced animal models, we can better analyze the relationship between nutritional factor and metabolic syndrome, and provide reliable references for the clinical treatment of this disorder. OBJECTIVE:To construct obese mouse models with high-fat diet feeding and discuss the relationship between nutritional factor and metabolic syndrome. METHODS:Thirty mice were selected and randomly divided into model group (n=20) and control group (n=10), and were fed with high-fat and normal animal feeds for 10 consecutive weeks. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the control group, after 1 week of feeding with high-fat animal feeds, body weight of mice in the model group raised, and differences gradualy increased with the feeding time increased. After 8 weeks of feeding, body mass index of mice in the model group significantly raised (P < 0.05). After 4 weeks of feeding, fasting venous blood glucose level of mice in the model group significantly raised, and showed a gradual rise trend with feeding time. After 5 weeks of feeding, fasting insulin level of mice in the model group also began to rise. The oral glucose tolerance test showed that mice in the model group showed a gradual downward trend of glucose tolerance with feeding time. After 8 weeks of feeding, serum levels of total cholesterol and high density lipoprotein cholesterol in the model group significantly raised (P < 0.05). After 10 weeks of feeding, serum levels of triacylglycerol, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol and high density lipoprotein cholesterol in the model group raised (P< 0.05). The results demonstrate that obese mouse models were successfuly constructed with high-fat diet feeding, which can simulate the natural progression of metabolic syndrome in human, moreover, the nutritional factor is closely related to metabolic syndrome.

Objective To evaluate the outcome of patients with low ejection fraction undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting.Methods One hundred and twenty-eight consecutive patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤35％,who underwent Off-pump caronary bypass surgery or Cardiopulmonary coronary artery bypass between December 2000 and Novomber 2010 were studied.The outcome of early complication,mortality,LVEF were analyzed.Results LVEF and LVEDD were significantly increased in early postoperation (P ＜ 0.05 ).Use of Intra-aotric balloon counterpulsation(IABP) can decrease early mortality,and postopertive respiratory tract infections,renal insufficiency were found to be the main complications.Conclusions Preoperative low ejection fraction has no relationship with postoperative early mortality.using medicine to adjust heart function,strcity control blood pressure,blood glucose,heart rate preoperation,positive use of IABP postoperativon are key point to decrease early mortality.

Objective:To investigate the role of alloreactive T cell in clonal deletion and regulatory T cells ( Treg) in transplant tolerance.Methods:F1 mice were bred by crossing female BALB/c mice and male C57BL/6 mice.Within 24 h,newborn C57BL/6 mice were inoculated with F1 spleen cells via the orbital branch of the anterior facial vein.Six weeks later,the mice were subjected to F1 skin grafting to evaluate their tolerance.Proliferation,flow cytometry and adoptive transfer assay were used to analyze clonal deletion of alloreactive T cells and the expression of CD4+Foxp3+T cells in neonatal treated mice.Results: Newborn C57BL/6 mice injected with F1 splenic cells could induce transplantation tolerance,the level of tolerance was associated with the dose of splenic cells.3×107 splenic cells from F1 mice could induce long-term skin graft acceptance in C57BL/6 mice ,1×107splenic cells significantly prolonged the survival of F1 skin grafts,but the grafts completely rejected within 50 days.The mixed lymphocyte reaction ( MLR) experiment in vivo showed that alloreactive T cell in long-term tolerant mice was deleted completely,but a certain amount of reactive T cells existed in the low-dose group mice.Flow cytometry ( FCM) analysis showed that the expression of CD4+Foxp3+T cell in the high-dose group and low-dose group mice had no obvious difference compared with the naive mice.When alloreactive T-cells were injected into tolerant mice,the skin graft rejection was observed,and Treg cells upregulated in graft-rejected mice.Conclusion:The degree of transplantation tolerance depended on the clonal deletion of alloreactive T cells,instead of on the expression of CD4+Foxp3+Treg cells.CD4+Foxp3+regulatory T cells upregulated in graft rejected mice,which may be served as a negative feedback mechanism to control the intensity of rejection.

Background:Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common malignancies,and intestinal-type GC is the main histopathologic type of GC in China.We previously reported that casein kinase 2 interacting protein 1 (CKIP-1) acts as a candidate tumor suppressor in intestinal-type GC.CKIP-1 participates in the regulation of multiple signaling pathways,including the Wnt/β-catenin pathway,of which caudal-related homeobox 1 (CDX1) may be a downstream target gene.The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between CKIP-1 and CDX1 in intestinal-type GC.Methods:Sixty-seven gastroscopy biopsy specimens and surgically resected gastric specimens were divided into four groups:gastric mucosa group,intestinal metaplasia (IM) group,dysplasia group,and intestinal-type GC group.The expression levels of CKIP-1 and CDX1 were detected in these groups and GC cell lines,and the correlations between these expression levels were analyzed.SGC7901 and BGC823 cells were divided into CKIP-1 shRNA groups and CKIP-1 over-expression groups,and CDX1 expression was detected.β-Catenin expression was detected in intestinal-type GC tissue samples and CKIP-1 shRNA and CKIP-1 over-expression SGC7901 cells,and its correlation with CKIP-1 expression in intestinal-type GC tissue was analyzed.The Wnt/β-catenin pathway inhibitor DKK-1 and activator LiCl were incubated with SGC7901 cells,BGC823 cells,and CKIP-1 shRNA and CKIP-1 over-expression SGC7901 and BGC823 cells,following which CDX1 and Ki-67 expression were detected.Results:The expression levels of CKIP-1 and CDX1 were lower in patients with intestinal-type GC than in patients with IM and dysplasia (both P ＜ 0.05).CKIP-1 and CDX1 expression levels were positively correlated in IM,dysplasia,and intestinal-type GC tissue and cell lines (r =0.771,P ＜ 0.01;r =0.597,P ＜ 0.01;r =0.654,P ＜ 0.01;r =0.811,P ＜ 0.01,respectively).CDX1 expression was decreased in the CKIP-1 shRNA groups and increased in the CKIP-1 over-expression groups of SGC7901 and BGC823 cells compared to that in the corresponding control groups (both P ＜ 0.05).CKIP-1 expression was negatively correlated with β-catenin expression in intestinal-type GC patients (r =-0.458,P ＜ 0.01).Compared to the control group,β-catenin expression was increased in the CKIP-1 shRNA SGC7901 cell group and decreased in the CKIP-1 over-expression SGC7901 cell group (P ＜ 0.05).CDX1 expression was increased in SGC7901 and BGC823 cells treated with DKK-1,DKK-1 increased CDX1 expression and decreased Ki-67 expression in the CKIP-1 shRNA group;the opposite result was observed in SGC7901 and BGC823 cells treated with LiCl,and LiCl decreased CDX1 expression and increased Ki-67 expression in the CKIP-1 over-expression group (both P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions:Through the Wnt/p-catenin signaling pathway,CKIP-1 may positively regulate CDX1 in intestinal-type GC.

Objective To evaluate the effects of ischemic postconditioning (IPO) on c-fos protein expression during renal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) in rats.Methods Seventy-five adult male Sprague-Dawley rats,aged 8-12 weeks,weighing 200-250 g,were randomly allocated into 3 groups (n =25 each) using a random number table:sham operation group (group S),I/R group and IPO group.Renal I/R injury was induced by clamping the bilateral renal pedicles for 1 h followed by 24 h of reperfusion in I/R and IPO groups.Five animals were sacrificed at 1,3,6,12 and 24 h of reperfusion and the left kidneys were removed for microscopic examination and for determination of the expression of c-fos protein by immunohistochemistry.Results Compared with S group,the expression of c-fos protein was significantly up-regulated at each time point during reperfusion in I/R and IPO groups.Compared with I/R group,the expression of c-fos protein was significantly down-regulated at each time point during reperfusion in group IPO.The pathologic changes were significantly attenuated in group IPO as compared with group I/R.Conclusion The mechanism by which IPO attenuates renal I/R injury is related to down-regulation of c-fos protein expression in the renal tissues of rats.

Objective To evaluate the effects of problem-based learning (PBL) teaching model in medical imaging education in China. Methods Such databases as PubMed, Medline, CNKI, WanFang, VIP Data were electronically searched for literature on PBL versus lecture-based learning (LBL) applied in medical imaging education in China up to April, 2015. According to the strict quality evaluation of the in-cluded studies, meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results Fourteen studies were included totally. Studies included 1 233 students, of whom the PBL group had 608 cases, while LBL group had 625 cases. Compared with LBL, PBL was superior in medical imaging theoretical scores [WMD=5.22, 95%CI(3.06, 7.37), P=0.000], and the case analysis scores [WMD=6.45, 95%CI(4.77, 8.12), P=0.000]. PBL was also superior in the autonomous learning ability [RR=1.78, 95%CI (1.47, 2.16), P=0.000], the unity cooperation ability [RR=1.42,95%CI (1.25, 1.61), P=0.000] and analysis ability [RR=1.73,95%CI (1.42, 2.11), P=0.000]. There were significant differences between PBL group and LBL group. Conclusion PBL can improve teaching results in medical imaging education.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in the levels of monocarboxylate transporter-2 in spinal cord horn in a rat model of chronic inflammatory pain.

METHODSMale SD rats weighting 180 - 220 g were randomly divided into two groups(n = 48): normal saline group (NS group), complete Freund's adjuvant group (CFA group). Rats were given injections of CFA 100 µl in left hind paw in group CFA, and an equal volume of saline was given injection in group NS. Mechanical withdraw threshold(MWT) and thermal withdraw latency(TWL) were measured at before injection(T0 and 3 h, 1 d, 3 d, 7 d, 14 d, and 21 d after injection(T1-7). Four rats were chosen from each group at T0-7 and sacrificed, and L4-5 segments of the spinal cord horn were removed for measurement of the expression of monocarboxylate transporter-2 by Western blot analysis.

RESULTSIn CFA group, mechanical hyperalgesia and allodynia appeared on the 3 h after CFA injection, then until the day 14. The expression of monocarboxylate transporter-2 in the spinal dorsal horn of rats in CFA group was significantly higher than that in normal control group at T1-6(P <0.05). The protein level of monocarboxylate transporter-2 was apparently correlated with MWT and TWL(P <0.01 and P <0.05) in CFA group.

CONCLUSIONThe level of monocarboxylate transporter-2 in spinal dorsal horn is significantly increased in a rat model of chronic inflammatory pain and the change may involve in the formation and maintenance of central sensitization in spinal cord of chronic inflammatory uain.
