3.Treatment progress of nosocomial bacterial meningitis in neurosurgery
Journal of Clinical Surgery 2015;(6):476-479
With high morbidity and mortality, nosocomial bacterial meningitis(NBM)is a kind of serious nosocomial infection.Post-neurosurgical patients are at a high risk of this infection andNBM in-creases hospital stay and medical expense obviously. In this article,we reviewed recent studiesonpathogen-esis,treatment,and research progress of NBM in neurosurgical patients, and presented unresolved ques-tions and research direction in the future.
4.Role of MIF and its antagonist ISO-1 in the pathogenesis of pathological scars
The Journal of Practical Medicine 2017;33(3):412-416
Objective To explore the role of macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in the pathogenesis of pathological scar and the effect of ISO-1 on the behavior of scar fibroblasts. Methods Samples of normal skin, normal scar, and pathological scar were collected and detected by hematoxylin-eosin staining and immumohistochemical staining.Human fibroblasts were isolated from the samples and then divided into different groups with the intervention with ISO-1 (0 ~ 100 μ mol/mL).Fibroblast proliferation was detected by Alamber dyeing and cell apoptosis was detected by TUNEL staining.Expressions of fibroblast specific proteins and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathways wcre detected by Western Blot and RT-PCR.Results The positive rates of MIF for hyperplastic scar and keloid were greater than those for normal scar and normal skin (P < 0.01).Apoptotic cells occurred less in the group without intervention. The apoptotic rate increased gradually as the concentration of ISO-1 increased. There were significant statistical differences in the migration rate among all the groups (P < 0.05).As concentration of ISO-1 increased, the protein and gene expressions of type I collagen,FN and CTGF were decreased.Expressions of activated PI3K and Akt decreased as ISO-1 concentration increased. Conclusions The expression of MIF is different in different types of scar tissue.ISO-1 inhibits the biological behavior of fibroblasts derived from pathological scar through PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathways.
5.Effect of Electroacupuncture at Bilateral Points Quchi on Blood Pressure Variability in Hypertensive Disease Patients
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2015;(11):1059-1061
Objective To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture at bilateral points Quchi on blood pressure variability in hypertensive disease patients. Methods One hundred and two patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups, 51 cases each. Methods The treatment group received electroacupuncture at bilateral points Quchi and the control group, no treatment as a blank control. Twenty-four-hour dynamic blood pressure and blood pressure variability were observed in the two groups of patients. Results There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in 24-hour systolic pressure standard deviation (24 hSSD), daytime systolic pressure standard deviation (dSSD) and night systolic pressure standard deviation (nSSD) between the treatment and control groups (P<0.05). There were no statistically significant post-treatment differences in 24-hour diastolic pressure standard deviation (24 hDSD), daytime diastolic pressure standard deviation (dDSD) and night diastolic pressure standard deviation (nDSD) between the treatment and control groups (P>0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture at bilateral points Quchi can reduce systolic pressure variability in hypertensive disease patients.
6.Philosophical pondering upon merging traditional Chinese medicine into systemic medicine
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2006;4(2):137-9
Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the component parts of the international health care system. It has been an inevitable trend to merge traditional Chinese medicine into systemic medicine. Along with the emergence of the concept of systemic disease, the wide dissemination of evidence-based medicine and the establishment of thought pattern of systemic medicine, the exploration emphasis of modern medical science has been transferred from microcosmic or solid structure to macrocosmic unit and system relation. The mainstream development of modern medical science is to integrate different medical systems into a complete system. Therefore, the integration of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine is also necessary under this condition.
7.Studies on Tuber and First Age Plants of Yanhusuo(Gorydalis yanhusuo)
Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(11):-
Corydalis yanhusuo W. T. Wang ex Z. Y. Su et C. Y. Wu is an aperennial herb which grous wild in Anhui Province. The tuber of the plants is used as an anodyne. Cultivation of the plant with seeds obtained from the wild was carried out in our nursery breeding house. Results showed that the emergence rate depends upon the size and ripeness of the seed. Although it is a dicotyledon, yet its seedling showed only a single cotyledon. Secretary tissues could be found in its cuticular layer. Cambium was well developed but both xylem and phleom were not well developed
8.Preventive application of antibiotics in peri-operative orthopaedic surgery
Orthopedic Journal of China 2006;0(19):-
The purpose of applying antibiotics prophylaxis in perioperative orthopedic surgery is to prevent or decrease the risk of infection. The opportune administration is the key point for prevention of infection. The application principle, classification and current situation are reviewed in this paper, its perspective and prospects are also investigated.
9.Clinical study on transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt creation with 8 mm diameter covered stent-graft
Journal of Interventional Radiology 1994;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the clinical results of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)creation with 8 mm diameter covered stent-graft. Methods Ninteen concecutive patients with portal hypertension underwent TIPS creation with 8 mm diameter covered stent-graft for variceal bleeding and/or refractory ascites. Evaluation of the results through observing the improvement of clinical symptom and periodic follow up was carried out. Results Technical success achieved in all patients reaching 100% without related complications. Median follow-up was 13.5 months(ranged, 2.7 - 28 months). One case(1/19,5.3%)showed aggravation of hepatoencephalopathy and 2 others(2/19, 10.5%)revealed rebleeding. The primary patency rate was 100%(16/16)after 6 months, and 87.5%(7/8)after 12 months. Improvement or resolved rate of ascites was 66.7% (12/18). Conclusion TIPS creation with 8 mm diameter covered stent-graft can degrade the incidence of hepatic encephalopathy, improve the rate of TIPS patency and keeping the effective shunt flow.
10.Bilateral external fixator combined with limited internal fixation for the treatment of open fracture of tibial plateau
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(07):-
Objective To explore the clinical outcome of self-designed bilateral external fixator combined with limited internal fixation for the treatment of open fracture of tibial plateau. Methods From February 2001 to September 2005,23 cases of open tibial plateau fractures were treated with bilateral external fixator combined with limited internal fixation.According to Schatzker classification, there were 35 patients with type Ⅴ fracture and 18 patients with type Ⅵ fracture.According to Gustilo classification, there were type Ⅰ in 15 eases, type Ⅱ in 22 cases, type Ⅲ in 16 cases. Results The follow-up period was 5 to 22 months(mean 10 months). All the fractures got unit- ed.According to Merchant grade,18 eases were evaluated as excellent,25 as good,9 as fair. The rate of excellent and good resuhs was 83 %.Conclusion Operation by using bilateral fixator combined with limited internal fixator can make fixation stable and reduce complication. It is an effective method to treat complex fractures of open tibial plateau.
