Objective To investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygenation(HBO)therapy on serum con- centrations of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(slCAM-1),soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(sV- CAM-1),soluble E-selectin(sE-selectin)and matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9)in patients with aeute cerebral infarction and their clinical implications. Methods One hundred and twelve cases of cerehral infarction in the ca- rotid artery system were assigned into two groups.Patients in the routine treatment group(RT group,n=62)were treated with routine clinical treatment regime, whereas those in the HBO group(n=50)were treated with H BO ther- apy in additioo to routine clinical treatment.Thirty age- and sex-matched normal subjects were recruited and served as controls. The serum concentrations of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin and MMP-9 were measured hy using ELISA method before and 10 days after treatment. The assessment of neurological deficits using National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS)score was conducted before treatment, and at 10 and 30 days after treatment, and the therapeutic efficacy was evaluated. Results The concentrations of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-selectin and MMP-9 of the patients were significantly higher than those of the control subjects. These parameters were all decreased signifi- cantly after treatment in the two patient groups. Moreover, these parameters were lower in the HBO group than those in the RT group after treatment. The NIHSS scores of HBO group were significantly lower than that of the RT group at the 30th clay post-treatment.The effective rate of HBO group was higher than that of RT group. Conclusion HBO therapy can decrease the serum levels of sICAM-1,sVCAM-1,sE-seleetin and MMP-9,which might be one of the mechanisms of HBO in the treatment of cerebral infarction.

Objective To investigate the feasibility and results of the application of both expanded cutaneous flap and temporoparietal fascia flap in total ear reconstruction with Medpor framework. Methods The main procedures consisted of three stages:stage Ⅰ-skin expansion, stage Ⅱ auricle formation that consisted of orientation of Medpor implant and creation of coverage for the implant by both expaned skin flap and temporoparietal fascia flap, and stage Ⅲ-treatment of residual ear and recontruction of auricular lobule. Results Twenty-two ears in 22 unilateral microtia patients were constructed using Medpor implants covered with both expanded cutaneous flap and temporoparietal fascia flap over the last three years, and they were accepted as pleasing by the patients. Conclusions Application of both expanded cutaneous flap and temporoparietal fascia flap can assure no extrusion of Medpor implant in ear reconstruction.Further more, the two layers of transferred tissues will not affect the profile details of the reconstructed ear.And because the skin covering the framework and fascia is derived from frommastoid region, the appearance and profile of the reconstructed auricle is true to nature and close to that of the opposite one.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2015;50(4):375-384
The nuclear factor erythroid 2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a key protein of endogenous antioxidant defense systems in the body. In response to oxidative stress, Nrf2 translocates to nucleus and binds to antioxidant response elements (ARE), regulating the expression of a large amounts of antioxidant genes and maintaining a proper redox balance. The pathological processes of neurodegenerative diseases are associated with generation of reactive oxygen species, which cause oxidative stress. Oxidative stress plays a cardinal role in the onset and progression of neurodegenerative diseases. Nrf2-inducer compounds can reduce oxidant stress and have shown therapeutic efficacy in many neurodegenerative disease models. How to activate the Nrf2 signaling pathway effectively has been received much attention. Here we provided an overview of specific mechanism of Nrf2-ARE pathway and the protective effects of Nrf2 in different neurodegenerative diseases, and summarized the Nrf2 activators recently in preclinical study.

Objective To investigate and analyze the demands of ethical review knowledge training among clinical investigators and determinants, thus to discuss countermeasures to optimize the training pattern of ethical review knowledge training among clinical investigators and to provide scientific evidence and proposals for training management. Methods A total of 366 clinical investigators from third-class and first-grade general hospitals in Beijing were surveyed by questionnaires according to stratified random sampling method based on the professional titles, and the results were analyzed by SPSS 20.0.Results There existed training demands of ethical review knowledgeamong clinical investigators. For investigators with primary and intermediate titles, knowledge training about informed consent process, subject safety and rights protection, and principles of privacy security were highly needed. The training patterns researched were mainly short-term training and lectures organized by administrative department of the hospital. Most investigators expressed that the primary influence factor of training was lack of time and effort. Conclusions Based on the results of the survey, the demands of ethical review knowledge training are analyzed and countermeasures to optimize and enrich current training patterns are discussed,to improve the efficiency of training and the recognition and knowledge of ethical review among clinical investigators.

Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(6):6-9
Targeting the key questions in the scale development process of TCM syndrome, such as the definition of the concept, the construction of the theoretical framework, the quantitative classification of the items, the rational use of the statistical methods and so on, this article put forward that on the basis of carefully distinguishing the three concepts of syndrome diagnosis, syndrome evaluation and disease diagnosis, and based on TCM dialectical thinking and mathematical validation to build theoretical framework. A scientific and reasonable quantitative classification method was established based on the reliability and validity as indexes. Non-linear intelligent mathematical statistics and symptomatic index groups were used to analyze the ideas and methods of data mining, with a purpose to improve and perfect the methodology of the development of syndromes scale and to improve the establishment and application of the syndrome scale.
