The history of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) was reviewed through summarizing the background and process of the establishment of WFAS. The establishment background was explained in different aspects, named the recovery of acupuncture-Moxibustion in the world, the successive setup of world acupuncture-Moxibustion organizations, the divergences of International Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, striding forward of China reform and opening policy as well as the attention of the World Health Organization (WHO), etc. The establishment of WFAS was introduced on the proposal from eight countries, the important time of the development of acupuncture and moxibustion in China, 1984, divergences and consensus as well as the final phase. The official establishment of WFAS represents the global benefits of acupuncture-Moxibustion colleagues. It is the international organization of acupuncture and moxibustion, contributing to the promotion of acupuncture and moxibustion in the world.

From cooperation between World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) and World Health Organization, works of academics and standardization, acupuncture-moxibustion education, technique service, organization development, etc., the 27-year development of WFAS since 1987 was summarized and reviewed in details. The growth of WFAS witnesses and promotes the development of acupuncture and moxibustion in the world, so by learning the experience and lessons, WFAS could have a wider path, becoming a core organization for communicating and promoting the development of acupuncture, even the traditional medicine in the world.

Objective To study the incidence and distribution features of spontaneous decrease of hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA level and its correlative factors in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients.Methods The incidence,demographic features and distribution of different clinical types of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA were investigated with clinical epidemiological study in 315 CHB or live cirrhosis (LC) patients.The correlative factors of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA were analyzed by Logistic regression methods.Results Among the 315 patients,171 patients (54.3%) underwent spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA within 12 weeks,of which 61 patients (19.4%) had undeteetable HBV DNA (＜3 lg copy/mL).The stratified study showed that the incidence of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA in young patients was 58.6% (116/198 cases),which was higher than that (25.0%,2/8 cases) in juvenile patients (X2 = 2.956,P=0.048).The incidence of decrease in relatively more severe patients was higher than that in relatively less severe patients (all X2 in significant groups＞3.84,all P＜0.05),and the highest incidence was 78.7% (48/61 cases) in patients with chronic severe hepatitis B.The incidence of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA in hepatitis E virus (HEV)/HBV coinfected patients was 75.0% (21/28 cases),which was higher than that (51.8%,146/282 cases) in single HBV-infected patients (X2 =5.530,P=0.019).The incidence of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA in patients with alanire aminotransferase (ALT)＞400 U/L was 61.8%(102/165 cases),which was higher than that (46.0%,69/150 cases) in patients with ALT≤400 U/L (X2 =7.922,P=0.005).The incidence of spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA in patients with TBil＞200 μmol/L was 68.7% (79/115 cases),which was higher than that (46.0%,92/200 cases) in patients with TBil≤200 μmol/L (X2 = 15.155,P=0.000).The multivariate Logistic analysis demonstrated that chronic severe hepatitis B,ALT＞ 400 U/L and TBil＞ 200 μmol/L were the correlative factors with spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA in CHB or LC patients (all OR＞1,all P＜0.05).Conclusions The spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA level is a common phenomenon during the natural course (immune clearance phase) of CHB or LC patients.Patients with sever conditions,elevated levels of ALT and total bilirubin (TBil) tend to develop spontaneous decrease of HBV DNA.

Objective To investigate the expression and significance of JWA in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Methods Bone marrow mononuclear cell specimens were taken from 22 AML patients in newly diagnosis stage and complete remission stage respectively , and the JWA expression were detected at RNA and protein level. Results (1) JWA was expressed in all the samples at RNA and protein level. (2) At protein level, JWA expression was higher in the cells from newly diagnosed AML patients than in those from patients in complete remission stage (P < 0.05). (3)The complete remission rate of patients with higher expression level of JWA (87.5%) was similar to those with lower expression (83.3%). The complete remission rate of patients with higher expression level of JWA after the first course (31.25%) was lower than those with lower expression (66.7%). The early recurrence rate of patients with higher expression level of JWA (42.86%) was higher than those with lower expression (20%). Conclusion JWA may play an important role in the development and progression of AML. Increased expression of JWA may be one of the causes of refractory and relapsed AML.

OBJECTIVETo explore the theory of "Fei and Dachang being interior-exteriorly related" and the pathogenesis of lung injury by observing changes of inflammatory cytokines and oxygen free radicals in ulcerative colitis (UC) rats.

METHODSTotally 50 healthy male Wistar rats were randomly divided into two groups, the normal control group and the model group, 25 rats in each group. The UC model was established by allergizing colon mucosa combined with TNBS-alcohol (50%) enema. Another 25 rats were recruited as the normal control group. At week 2 and 4 after modeling, the pathomorphological changes of the lung were observed. Furthermore, the contents of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) and IL-1beta were determined by ELISA. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were evaluated with colorimetry.

RESULTSCompared with the normal control group, the pathomorphology of the lung tissue in the model group appeared abnormal at week 2 and 4. Compared with the normal control group, levels of TNF-alpha, IL-1beta, and MDA in the lung tissue significantly increased in the model group (P < 0. 01) and the activities of SOD significantly decreased (P < 0.05, P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONTNF-alpha, IL-1beta, SOD, and MDA might be common material bases for the large intestine involved in lung disease of UC patients, thus providing a modern scientific basis for the theory of Fei and Dachang being interior-exteriorly related.

Objective To determine the feasibility of magnetically labeling and tracking mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)in vitro by using a gadolinium and fluorescent bi-functionally transfection agent of polyethylenimine.Methods A gadolinium bifunctional transfection reagent complex was obtained after the linear polyethylenimine derivative(JetPEI-FluoR)was incubated with Gd-DTPA.Mesenchymal stem cells isolated from the bone marrows of SD rats were cultured and expanded.The mesenchymal stem cells were incubated with the bi-functional labeling agents.After labeling,the MSCs were examined with fluoroscope and electron microscope and the biological characters were detected including trypan blue exclusion test,MTT,and apoptosis detection.On a 1.5 T MR system,the labeled MSCs were examined with spin echo T1 WI and T2 WI and T1 measurement with mixed sequence.After labeling,the cells were cultured and undergone routine passage.Prior MR examinations were repeated for each passage of labeled cells.All data was statistically prolessed with SPSS for Windows.Results Of 5×105 MSCs incubated with the bi-functional agents,4.25×105 MSCs were successfully labeled,the percentage of labeled MSCs was 85% fluoroscopically.The high density electron particles of gadolinium observed electron microscopically existed around cellular apparatuses,especially around Golgi apparatus.In trypan blue exclusion test,the exclusion rate of labeled MSCs with incubation duration of 3,6,12,24 h was(96.55±2.90)%,(94.17±2.56)%,(97.16±3.12)% and(94.23±2.67)%,respectively.The corresponding exclusion rate of unlabeled MSCs was(95.86±2.67)%,(92.04±2.21)%,(93.38±3.64)%and(92.12±2.53)%,respectively.There was no statistical difference of trypan blue exclusion rate between labeled cells and control unlabeled cells within 24 hours of incubation(F=4.523,P＞0.05).In the proliferation test,the optical absorption value of labeled MSC with 2.5,5.0,10.0,20.0,30.0 and 40.0 μl bi-functional labeling agent was(0.1884±0.0151),(0.1878±0.0190),(0.1741±0.0160),(0.1135±0.0215),(0.1079±0.0145)and(0.0811±0.0079),respectively.The corresponding optical absorption value of unlabeled MSCs was(0.1940±0.0116).The optical absorption value of labeled cells was not affected in case of less than 30.0 μl of Gd-DTPA(q'=0.2225-0.9458,P＞0.05).The apoptosis index for labeled cells and unlabeled cells were 5.08% and 3.86%,respectively.On T1 WI,the signal intensity and T1 relaxation time of unlabeled cells and labeled cells were 240.3±24.7 and(2457±56)ms,336.2±20.7 and(1102±64)ms,respectively,and there were significant statistical difference(t=12.656,17.889,P＜0.01).The minimal amount of cells which was detectable for T1 WI was 5×103.After routine passage,the gadolinium in the cells gradually decreased and could be tracked by MRI until the fifth passage.Conclusions The gadolinium and fluorescent bi-functionally labeling rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell by using the transfection agent of polyethylenimine is feasible,efficient and safe.The labeled cells could be tracked in vitro on MR imaging.

Objective Pertussis cases have increased markedly since 2018 in Guangxi.The aim of this study was to evaluate antibody levels and the infection status of pertussis in the resident population. Method A total of 10,215 serum samples from residents were collected from August-November 2018 and tested for anti-pertussis IgG and toxin IgG using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA). Results Of the collected samples,1,833(17.94%)tested positive for anti-pertussis IgG,with the median concentration of 16.06 IU/mL.Antibody level<10 IU/mL accounted for more than 60%in children under 4 years of age,but declined with age,whereas the percentages of the other three levels(10-40,40-50,and≥50 IU/mL)increased almost with age(P<0.001).Moreover,7,924 samples were selected for anti-pertussis toxin IgG,of which 653(8.24%)tested positive(≥40 IU/mL)with the median concentration of 5.89 IU/mL,and 204 participants(2.56%)had recent pertussis infection(≥100 IU/mL).Among the different age groups,the highest rates of positivity and recent infection were observed at 11-20 years of age,the lowest positivity rate at 5 years of age,and the lowest recent infection rate at 4 years of age(P<0.001,P=0.005,respectively). Conclusion The survey results showed that all age groups in Guangxi lacked immunity against pertussis,which was one of the main factors contributing to the resurgence of pertussis in 2018.In addition,the prevalence of pertussis is relatively high in Guangxi,and its incidence is seriously underestimated,especially in adolescents and adults.

Objective To study the different therapeutic proportion of the patient populations undergone coronary angiography (CAG) in the era of development in multislice spiral computed tomography(MSCT).Methods Two hundred and fifty four consecutive patients(mean age 59.24±10.65),who underwent CAG at Daxing Hospital from February 2007 through October 2007,were enrolled,160 patients were male and 94 were female.By evaluating from the coronary angiogram,the patients were not diagnosed to have coronary heart disease(CHD) with less than 50% diameter stenosis of coronary artery;the patients to have CHD with more than or equal to 50% stenosis of coronary artery;the patients were performed the procedure of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) with more than or equal to 70% stenosis;the patients were proposed to have coronary aortic bypass graft(CABG) surgery with left main coronary artery lesions or diffuse triple coronary artery lesions.Results In the 254 consecutive patients,59 patients(23.2%) had not been diagnosed to have CHD;195(76.8%)to have CHD,of these patients with CHD,49 patients(19.3%)were not indicated for PCI (including the patients receiving follow-up coronary angiography after stenting),81(31.9%)had been performed the procedure of stent implantation,57(22.4%)proposed to have CABG,8(3.1%)the procedure of PCI had not been successful,or had not been performed because of patients opposing to this therapy.Conclusion Multislice spiral computed tomography can be applied as a non-invasive screening tool to exclude the presence of CHD,to increase the positive proportion of the populations with CHD in all patients receiving coronary angiograhpy,to avoid the use of CAG in a subset of patients.

AIMTo investigate the transformation of characteristics of epidermal cells from foreskin which were used to reconstruct male rabbit anterior urethra in combination with acellular collagen matrices.

METHODSIn three rabbits, autologous foreskin epidermal cells were isolated, expanded in vitro, and seeded (inoculated) onto a tubular acellular collagen matrix, acquired from allogeneic rabbit bladder submucosa. A urethral mucosal defect was created, and urethral reconstruction was performed with the tubular acellular collagen matrix seeded with epidermal cells.

RESULTSOn gross examination at 12 months following the procedure, the mucosa of the urethral grafts appeared lubricous and smooth. Urethrography showed that a wide urethral caliber had been maintained without any sign of strictures. Histological examination showed a transitional cell layer in the graft without evidence of a margin between the graft and the host tissue at 12 months postoperatively.

CONCLUSIONEpidermal cells seeded onto acellular collagen matrices can be successfully used to reconstruct urethras that have defects and are transformed to transitional epithelial cells.

OBJECTIVE: To constitute school sanitation standard using modified Delphi method, and to explore the feasibility and the predominance of Delphi method in the constitution of school sanitation standard. METHODS: Two rounds of expert consultations were adopted in this study. The data were analyzed with SPSS15.0 to screen indices of school sanitation standard. RESULTS: Thirty-two experts accomplished the 2 rounds of consultations. The average length of expert service was (24.69 ±8.53) years. The authority coefficient was 0.729 ±0.172. The expert positive coefficient was 94.12% (32/34) in the first round and 100% (32/32) in the second round. The harmonious coefficients of importance, feasibility and rationality in the second round were 0.493 (P<0.05), 0.527 (P<0.01), and 0.535 (P<0.01), respectively, suggesting unanimous expert opinions. According to the second round of consultation, 38 indices were included in the framework. CONCLUSION Theoretical analysis, literature review, investigation and so on are generally used in health standard constitution currently. Delphi method is a rapid, effective and feasible method in this field.
