Cancer Research and Clinic 2013;(2):110-112
Objective To explore the clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of solid-pseudopapillary tumor(SPT)of pancreas. Methods The clinical data of 19 patients with SPT treated in 8 years were studied retrospectively, included 3 males and 16 females. Results The type of operation was decided by the size and location of tumor.Pancreatic leakage was a familiar complication, there were 9 cases.Patients were followed up from 3 to 70 months, and no recurrence or metastsis was found. Conclusion Pancreas SPT is a rare type neoplasm of pancreas.Pancreas SPT is affecting primarily young women, complete resection results in excellent prognosis.

Objective To investigate clinical significance of proinsulin and true insulin in obese children with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT).Methods There were 21 IGT and 52 normal glucose tolerance (NGT) children. Control cases were 40 normal children. The levels of serum fasting proinsulin, true insulin,insulin,c-peptide and glucose were measured in all the subjects. Results 1.Levels of fasting proinsulin,c-peptide, glucose, insulin, true insulin and homeostasis insulin resistance in obese children with IGT showed significant difference compared with NGT (P

Objective To explore the clinical value of real time contrast-enhanced ultrasound in diagnosis of liver localized fatty deletion and fatty infiltration which couldn't be confirmed by conventional ultrasonography. Methods Contrast-enhanced ultrasound was performed on 94 patients with liver localized diseases confirmed by baseline sonography, among them 34 patients with liver localized fatty deletion and fatty infiltration were enrolled. Results Contrast-enhanced ultrasonography didn't show apparent occupancy nidus in 34 patients. Enhancement mode of lesions was the same as liver parenchyma, which was distinctly different from liver occupancy diseases. Conclusion Real time contrast-enhanced ultrasound can display typical signs of liver localized fatty deletion and fatty infiltration and has significant value in diagnosis and differentiating diagnosis of them.

Objective To study the association of ER? expression with the expression of hormonal receptor and prognostic biomarkers. Methods The expressions of ER?,ER?,PR,Ki-67,HER-2/neu and p53 were detected in tissue samples from 109 breast cancer patients by immunohistochemistry on tissue microarray slides. The histologic grade, tumor size and lymph node metastasis status of 109 cases of breast cancer were recorded and served as comparison indexes. Results ER? was expressed in benign epithelium and stroma cells, and breast cancer cells in 59% breast cancer tissues of different histologic types.ER? was coexpressed with ER? in 45% breast cancer tissues.ER? expression was found a statistically significant association with HER-2/neu(P

AIM:Scopolamine blocks cholinergic transmission and impairs learning and memory in mice. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the memory-improving properties of curcumin on scopolamine-induced memory im-pairment in mice.METHODS:The mice of memory impairment were induced by scopolamine.Step down test and Morris water maze test were used to observe the earning and memory ability in curcumin-treated ice.Biochemical assessments of AChE,MDA,and GSH-Px levels in brains were performed.RESULTS:Oral administration of curcumin ignificantly reduced the numbers of step-down rrors(P<0.05)and prolonged the step-down latency induced by scopolamine(P<0.05).The escape latency time in mice treated with curcumin Was remarkably educed compared to that in scopolamine group by Morris water maze test(P<0.05).After the platform was removed, the total time that the mice swam in the tar-get quadrant Was also longer in curcumin group than that in model group(P<0.05).The data also indicated that curcumin significantly inhibited AChE ctivity(P<0.01)and prevented oxidative stress characterized by the significant reduction in MDA content and the significant increase in GSH-Px activities in the brain(P<0.01).CONCLUSl0N:Curcumin in-duces cognitive improvement by enhancing the function of cholinergic system and its antioxidant activity.

Objective To explore the value of? red blood cell distribution width (RDW) changes in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) prognosis by analysing relationship between red blood cell distribution width, cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. Methods 140 hospitalized patients with AMI were selected from May 2014 to October 2014 and devided into 2 groups. 70 patients without heart failure were AMI1 group and the other 70 patients with heart failure were AMI2 group. 70 cases of healthy persons were selected as control group. RDW was compared between three groups and the relationship between the level of RDW, cTnI and hs-CRP was analyzed. Evaluating value of RDW in predicting heart failure in AMI patients by using univariate logistic regression analysis and ROC curve analysis. Results In the comparison of AMI1 group, AMI2 group and control group, either of RDW, cTnI and hs-CRP showed a trend of increasing (P < 0.01). In the AMI patients , RDW level and cTnI level were positive correlation , and there was no linear correlation between RDW level and hs-CRP level. RDW≥14.55% was the independent risk factors in predicting heart failure in patients with AMI. Conclusion RDW≥14.55% can be an available independent predictor of the prognosis of AMI.

AIM and METHODS: To investigate the effect of electrical stimulation of ventlal septal area (VSA) on discharge of pyrogen - treated thermosensitive neurons in preoptic anterior hypothalamus (POAH) region, the discharging rate of thermosensitive neurons in the POAH region of 32 New Zealand white rabbits were recorded by using extracellular microelectrode techinque. RESULTS: (1) Intraceretroventricularly (i c v) injection of interleukin - 1?(IL - 1?) caused decrease of discharging rate of warm - sensitive neurons and increased in discharging rate of cold - sensitive neurons in POAH regions. (2) These effects could be reversed by electrical stimulation of VSA. CONCLUSION: VSA may play a central role of negative regulation in thermoregulation of pyrogen - treated animal.

Journal of China Medical University 2010;(9):743-745,763
Objective To study the relationship between extracellular signal-regulated kinases(ERK)phosphorylation and indirect activa-tion of the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)in cultured cerebellar granule neurons induced by homocysteine. Methods We pri-marily cultured 7-day-old CD-1 mouse cerebellar granule neurons for 7 days and treated with different agents(saline,AG1478,Hcy and AG1478+Hcy).The phosphorylation of ERK was analyzed by Western blot, and apoptotic rate by flow cytometry. Results Compared with saline and AG1478 groups, the phosphorylation of ERK was increased in Hcy group(P 〈 0.05).When we pretreated the cells with tyr-phostin AG1478,an inhibitor of EGFR,there was no difference in the activation of ERK compared with the control group. We found obvious neuronal apoptosis when 7-day-old CD-1 mouse cerebellar granule neurons were cultured for 7 days and treated with Hcy for 6 hours, and the apoptosis induced by Hcy was aggravated when the neurons were pretreated with AG1478(P 〈 0.05).No apoptosis was found in the saline and AG1478 groups. Conclusion The role of Hcy on ERK activation suggests the involvement of an indirect activation process of EGFR,which has neural potentially protective effect.
