AIM: To observe the therupeatic effects of Shemai Zhusheye vs vitamine C injection in treating dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). METHODS: Fifty-two patients with DCM were divided into 2 groups, 32 patients in treatment group (M 20, F 12; age 46 a± s 13 a), 20 patients in control group (M 11, F 9; age 47 a±14 a). Besides the patients in two groups were treated with conventional therapy, the patients in treatment group were given Shenmai Zhusheye 30 mL and 5% glucose injection 100 mL, iv, gtt, qd for 2 wk. The patients in control group were given vitamine C 5.0 and 5% glucose injection 100 mL, iv, gtt, qd for 2 wk. RESULTS: Treatment group total effective rate was 84%. Control group total effective rate was 65% (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Shenmai zhusheye has better effect in treating DCM. Symptom improving rate of Shenmai Zhusheye has better than vitamin C.

Objective To evaluate the effects of different concentrations of parecoxib sodium on the rat sperm motility, capacitation and acrosome reaction in vitro. Methods The sperm samples from Sprague-Dawley rat epididymis were collected by Klinefelter diffusion method and randomly divided into 4 groups (n =18 each) using a random number table:control group (group C),and parecoxib sodium 100,500,1 000 μmol/L groups (P1-3 groups).Parecoxib sodium with the final concentrations of 100,500 and 1 000 μmol/L was added to the culture medium. The samples were then incubated for 5 h in an airtight container filled with 5 % CO2 at 37 ℃.Then sperm motility was examined in vitro at 37 ℃ and analyzed by the computer-assisted sperm analysis, including the sperm motility ((a + b)%),average path velocity (VAP),straight line velocity (VSL),curvilinear velocity (VCL) and amplitude of lateral head displacement (ALH).The capacitation effect was assessed by using the chlortetracycline staining and phase-contract microscopy. The acrosome reaction was evaluated by coomassie brilliant blue staining. Results The VAP,VSL,VCL and capacitation ability of the sperm were gradually decreased in C and P1-3 groups (P < 0.05).Compared with group C,(a + b)% in P2,3 groups and ALH in P2 group were significantly decreased (P < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the acrosome reaction between groups (P > 0.05).Conclusion Parecoxib sodium has significant inhibitory effects on the rat sperm motility and capacitation in a dose-dependent manner, while has no effect on the acrosome reaction in vitro.

Objective To retrospectively assess the clinical manifestations and treatment of secondary syphilis with ocular impairment as the initial symptom. Methods Clinical data were retrospectively analyzed on secondary syphilis with ocular impairment as the initial symptom collected from September 1998 to October 2008. Results There were 11 syphilitic patients presenting acute ocular impairment as their initial manifestation. Skin eruptions developed simultaneously with ocular impairment in 2 patients, following ocular impairment in 9 patients. All patients were positive for rapid plasma reagent test (RPR) and treponema pallidum haemagglutination assay (TPHA), but negative for HIV. Of these patients, 9 suffered from uveitis (iridocyclitis, choroiditis or panuveitis), 2 from optic neuritis; 3 had unilateral ocular involvement, 8 had bilateral ocular involvement. After treatment with injected penicillin or ceftriaxone sodium, 9 patients experienced complete visual recovery, 2 partial visual recovery. Conclusions Ocular impairment occurs in patients with secondary syphilis at a low incidence, with no characteristic clinical manifestations. For patients who have no response to conventional ocular therapy, ocular syphilis should be considered and serological examination for syphilis is recommended.

The cultivation of ginseng (Panax ginseng C.A.Mey) in farmlands, remembered as an eco-friendly model, guaranteed the sustainable development of ginseng industry. In this study,we summarized the soil improvement and technologies of the cultivation of ginseng in farmlands and discussed the strategies, such as physical disinfection, chemical disinfection, fertilization and soil amelioration, and green manure returning fields, for improving the micro-ecological environment of ginseng.Furthermore, the new cuhivars of ginseng were introduced, compared with the cultivation patterns of ginseng between China,Japan and Korea, and strategies for controlling main diseases in the cultivation of ginseng were also involved. In conclusion, this study possessed guiding significance of the cultivation of ginseng in farmlands and laid a foundation for the wholesome development of ginseng industry.

Objective To investigate changes in intestinal microflora in patients with chronic severe hepatitis (CSH), and their role in this life-threatening disease. Methods We classified nineteen patients with chronic severe hepatitis as the CSH group, thirty patients with chronic hepatitis (CH) as the CH group and thirty-one healthy volunteer as the control group. Fecal flora from all subjects were analyzed. Concentrations of plasma endotoxin, serum cytokines tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and liver function were assessed. Results The number of fecal bifidobacterium (P<0.001, P<0.05 respectively), as well as bacteroidaceae (P<0.001, P<0.01 respectively) were significantly deceased in patients with chronic severe hepatitis compared with the CH and control groups, while the number of enterobacteriaceae (P<0.001, P<0.05 respectively) and yeasts (P<0.01, P<0.05 respectively) were significantly increased. Levels of plasma endotoxin, serum TNF-α, IL-1β and total bilirubin (TBiL) were significantly increased in the CSH group. The concentration of endotoxin positively correlated with levels of both TNF-α, IL-1β and TBiL (P<0.001, respectively). Levels of plasma endotoxin were positively correlated with the number of fecal enterobacteriaceae and negatively correlated with bifidobacterium (P<0.05, P<0.001, respectively). Conclusion Intestinal flora in patients with chronic severe hepatitis were severely disturbed and gut mircobiological colonization resistance was impaired. Changes in intestinal flora may have a pivotal role in both the elevation of plasma endotoxin and further hepatic lesions resulting in liver failure.

Objective To explore the effects of the "three-in-one" nursing management model when applied in the patients with maintained hemodialysis. Methods Totally 102 patients with maintained hemodialysis who were treated in Tongde Hospital of Zhejiang Province from July 2015 to August 2017 were selected by convenient sampling, and equally and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group. Patients in the control group received routine nursing and management, while patients in the observation group received the "three-in-one" nursing and management of hospitals, communities and families. Their personal information was filed when they were admitted into hospital, and the nursing work was transferred to the nurses in the community health service center in the vicinity of the patients' residence which was chosen one week before the patients were discharged from hospital. These nurses provided family rehabilitation guidance to the patients. The changes in blood pressure, degree of thirst, taste acuity and the resting salivary flow rate were compared between the patients in the two groups before and after the intervention. The Self-Management Scale and the MOS Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) were used to compare the self-management behavior and quality of life between the patients in the two groups. Results After three months' intervention, the systolic pressure of the patients in the observation group and the patients in the control group was (132.67±12.54)mmHg and (141.57±12.09) mmHg respectively (t=3.370,P<0.05); the taste acuity score of the patients in the observation group and the patients in the control group was (78.23±8.72) and (66.31±9.65), respectively (t=6.545, P<0.05); the scores for self-management behavior and overall health of the patients in the observation were (70.52±10.05) and (87.65±6.92), both higher than those of the patients in the control group (t=4.656, 2.660;P<0.05).Conclusions The "three-in-one" nursing and management model applied in the patients with maintained hemodialysis can help to improve taste acuity, self-management behavior and quality of life in these patients, thus worthy of clinical application.
