Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(5):456-456
ObjectiveTo observe the effect of the computer operation training on patients with cervical spinal cord injury. Methods16 patients with cervical spinal cord injury were trained to learn Word software operation and typing skill. Modules of Employability Skill (MES) was adopted in the training and the results were measured according to each module and cell. ResultsThe operation Word software and typing speed significantly improved compared with those pre-training (P<0.01 respectively). ConclusionPatients with cervical spinal cord injury can use computers skillfully after good occupational training.

This study was based on live yeast cell derivative (LYCD), which was produced by live yeast cell stressed with high temperature and H 2O 2. The results showed that pretreating of low dose(37℃and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2) could increase the content of GSH and the activity of SOD and CAT. These pretreatment could induce the resistance to lethal concentration of H 2O 2. LYCD was produced by yeast treated with 37℃ and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2. And it was found that the survival of yeast treated with lethal concentration of H 2O 2 obviously increased, while LYCD was added in yeast culture. It indicated that LYCD could have resistance to oxidative condition.

Objective To investigate the mastery degree of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) in Guang’anmen Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (hereinafter referred to as“Guang’anmen Hospital”). Methods Totally 338 clinical researchers, covering 18 clinical professional sections and medical clinical trial institutions, in Guang’anmen Hospital with both qualification of clinical trials and GCP certificate were investigated in 23th-27th June 2014. The investigation was in the written answer sheet form, including four noun explanations and 36 multiple choice questions, which were related to GCP. Results 338 researchers could accurately explain the concepts of 4 nouns, and 57 (16.86%) researchers could do all multiple choice questions correctly. 141 (41.72%) researchers chose 1 wrong answer and 89 (26.33%) researchers chose 2 wrong answers. 39 (11.54%) researchers failed to answer 3-4 questions. Only 12 (3.55%) researchers failed to answer 5 or more questions. Conclusion The mastery degree of clinical researchers with qualification of clinical trials and GCP certificate in Guang’anmen Hospital is satisfied. In the future, pertinence and diverse training should be strengthened, in order to improve the overall level of the mastery degree of GCP.

Objective To explore the relationship between operation scores and the expression of caveolin-1 ( Cav-1 ) protein in the cortex of mice. Methods Male Kunming mice were used and divided into two groups (excellent group and bad group) according to the training scores after 4 days' Y-maze learning training. The expression of cav-1 protein in cortex and hippocampus of the mice with different scores were measured through Western blot technology. Results Cav-1 protein expression of excellent group( Cav-1/β-actin was 5.71 + 1.11 ) in the cortex was significantly higher than that of the bad group ( Cav-1/β-actin was 1.69 + 0.20) (P < 0.01 ).While there was no significant difference in the two groups in the expression of Cav-1 protein in hippocampus(P > 0.05 ).Conclusion The operation scores have distinct correlation with the expression of Cav-1 protein in the cortex of mice.

Objective:
To investigate the mortality and life lost among patients with severe mental illness (SMI) that were registered in Ningbo City from 2016 to 2020, so as to provide the evidence for formulating the SMI control strategy.
Methods:
All data pertaining to dead SMI patients registered in Ningbo City from 2016 to 2020 were extracted from Ningbo Municipal Mental Health Information Management System. The demographic characteristics and causes of death were analyzed among dead SMI patients, and the life lost was analyzed among dead SMI patients using years of potential life lost (YPLL), years of potential life lost rate (YPLLR) and average years of life lost (AYLL).
Results:
A total of 3 350 deaths occurred among SMI patients registered in Ningbo City from 2016 to 2020, with mortality of 1 962/105, including 2 490 patients with schizophrenia (74.33%), 1 640 men (48.96%), 1 877 farmers (56.03%), and 2 622 patients with an educational level of primary school and below (78.27%). The dead SMI patients had a median age of 66.8 (interquartile range, 20.1) years at death, and median disease course of 25.8 (interquartile range, 26.7) years. The median age at death was 63.7 (interquartile range, 18.5) years among men, which was significantly lower than that (median, 70.0 years; interquartile range, 19.6 years) among women (χ2=132.633, P<0.001). The patients with mental retardation complicated by mental disorders had the longest disease course (median, 40.3 years; interquartile range, 34.1 years) and the lowest age at death (median, 61.4 years; interquartile range, 21.9 years). Physical disease was identified as the predominant cause of death (2 754 cases, 82.21%), and the YPLL, AYLL and YPLLR due to all causes of death were 44 417.32 person-years, 15.61 years and 6.21‰. The AYLL was significantly greater among men than among women (17.33 vs. 13.75 years; χ2=68.254, P<0.001). The YPLL was 30 156.80 person-years among patients with schizophrenia, and the AYLL was 20.87 years among patients with mental retardation complicated by mental disorders.
Conclusions
Physical disease was the main cause of death among SMI patients registered in Ningbo City from 2016 to 2020, which posed a great effect on the lifespan among men and patients with schizophrenia and mental retardation complicated by mental disorders.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2009;36(21):1239-1242,1247
Objective: To evaluate the effect of NGX6 with 5-Fu on the apoptosis of colon cancer cells. Methods: The NGX6-transfected HT-29 cell line with 5-Fu was used in the test group. HT-29 cell line with 5-Fu and PDTC was used in the control group. The expression of NF-κB was detected by EMSA. The proliferation of HT-29 cell line was assayed by MTT. The effect of NGX6 on the apoptosis was detected by FCM. HT-29 cells were double-stained by PI/Annexin-V and AO/EB and observed by fluorescence microscopy. Results: The expression of NF-κB was inhibited in NGX6 transfected colon carcinoma cell group and in colon carcino-ma cell group treated with PDTC. Treatment with the chemopreventive compounds 5-Fu and PDTC resulted in different responses in the effects of anti-proliferation and induced apoptosis of colon carcinoma cells. There was no significant difference in apoptosis between NGX6-transfected HT-29 call line with 5-Fu and the cells in the control group. NGX6 gene enhanced the effect of 5-Fu on the proliferation and apoptosis of colon carcino-ma cells. Conclusion: NGX6 gene can induce apoptosis and inhibit the proliferation of colon carcinoma cells. NGX6 gene can enhance the effect of 5-Fu on the proliferation and apoptosis of colon carcinoma cells through NF-κB pathway.
