Objective To observe the effect of nerve growth factor(NGF) on Caspase-3 expression in hippocampus of epileptic rats induced by kainic acid(KA) and explore the protective effect and mechanisms of NGF on the epileptic neurocytes.Methods Sixty healthy rats aged 21 to 30 days were randomly divided into 3 groups,each of which included 20 rats.Rats in group A were treated with 9 g?L-1 sodium,rats in group B were treated with KA,rats in group C were treated with KA and NGF.Concentration of KA was 2 g?L-1 diluted by 9 g?L-1 sodium;KA was injected into rats in group B and group C,intraperitoneally.Then state of seizure was recorded,and EEG and pathological section were performed.Five rats in each group were sacrificed by perfusion with paraform respectively at 6 hour,on the 1st day,on the 3rd day after injection of KA.Specimen was sampled and made into frozen section.Expression of Caspase-3 in hippocampus of epileptic rats was analyzed by immunohistochemistry.And microscope image measuring and analysis instrument was used to analyze image of expression.Results Symptoms of seizure appeared 30 min after injection of KA.Seizure was proved by detection of EEG and pathological section.Expressions of Caspase-3 detected by immunohistochemistry in group C decreased at every time spot were higher than those in group B,and the defferences between 2 groups had statistically significant(Pa

Objective To observe the functions of far-infrared rays and negative ions in Tourmaline and explore its new healthcare usage. Methods Questionnaires were adopted to obtain changes of diabetic patients in terms of dyskinesia,dysreflexia, abnormal skin and muscle, kinesthesis, touch sensation, algesia, and temperature sensation after using Tourmaline bedding series. Results Diabetic patients in fight and moderate level get improvements after using the series for one year,although the patient in fight level get outstanding improvements. Data showed the shorter therapeutic courses the better therapeutic effects were obtained and the improvements highlighted the changes of pain, ferver, hypesthesia, numbness, hight attack symptoms, and motion abnormality. Motion abnormality, algesia, and temperature sensation are three sensitive indexes of this disease. Conclusion Tourmaline bedding series has the function of improving peripheral neuropathy, which may be related with Tourmaline producing far-infrared rays and negative ions.

Objective To investigate the effect of somatostatin on pancreatic blood flow and pancreatic function on the patients with acute pancreatitis.Methods 120 patients with acute pancreatitis from March 2015 to March 2017 were collected, and were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group.The control group were given routine treatment, at the basis of this, the observation group were given somatostatin.octreotide 0.6 mg was dripped into intravenous continuously, and was reducted to 0.3 mg, continuous treatment for 7 d.The changes of blood flow and the curative effect of pancreas were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate was 96.67%(58/60)in the treatment group and 80.00%(48/60)in the control group.The total effective rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in blood flow(BF), blood volume(BV)and capillary surface permeability(PS)between the two groups before treatment.1 and 7 days after treatment, BF, BV in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of PS were significantly lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, the differences of(CP), insulin(INS), glucagon(GLU), serum lipase(LIP), amylase(AMY)and trypsinogen-2(TPS)were measured in the two groups were not statistically significant.1 and 7 days after treatment, CP and INS in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, and GLU, LIP, AMY and TPS-2 were significantly lower than those in the control group, the differences between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion It has a protective effect on pancreatic blood flow and function which somatostatin was used in the treatment of the patients with acute pancreatitis, it can improve the overall state of pancreas, and has significant therapeutic effect.

Objective The aim of this study is to establish a practical VX2 tumour model less than or equal to 10 mm from large blood vessel(as standard) for HIFU ablation .Methods 15 New Zealand rabbits were involved ,VX2 tumour blocks were inoculated near postcava through spine path ,and tumour rate was observed two weeks later by anatomy and MRI .Results Three experimental rabbits did not survive ,all the rest of the 12 into the tumour ,assembly tumour rate was 100% (12/12);The tumour rate reaching the standard accounted for 75% (9/12) ,the average distance between the tumour and the inferior vena cava was (5 .6 ± 3 .4)mm . ObjectiveTo explore the role of autofluorescence bronchoscopy in lung cancer operation and the meaning of choice lung cancer operation mode.MethodsTo retrospectively analyze 32 non-small cell lung cancer patients.Before lung cancer operation,white light bronchoscopy (WLB) and autofluorescence bronchoscopy (AFB) had been done routinely.Compared the different invasive tumor conditions by WLB and AFB,operation modes were decided by the edge of the tumor which were proved by biopsy pathology.ResultsIn 32 cases,19 cases underwent pulmonary lobectomy.One case underwent carinal resection and reconstruction.8 cases underwent sleeve lobectomy.4 cases underwent other therapy because of tumor airway metastasis.In 8 cases which underwent sleeve lobectomy,3 ca ses were found by WLB and AFB together,5 cases were found only by AFB.In 4 cases who had no operation chance,2 cases were found by WLB and AFB together,2 cases were only by AFB.The sensitivity for the detection of bronchial premalignant lesions was extremelyhigher withthe addition of AFB than WLBalone ( P ＜ 0.05 ).ConclusionAutofluorescence bronchoscopy is a safe and efficient technique which could improve the sensitivity of diagnosis in lung cancer than WLB.It is important to select operation mode.

OBJECTIVETo explore the therapeutic effect of combination of Zhuanyindan (ZYD, a self-made Chinese herbal preparation) and hormone in treating male infertility with positive antisperm antibody and its influence on nitric oxide (NO) level.

METHODSEighty-two patients were randomly divided (according to the digital list) into the WM group (n = 20, treated with prednisone), the TCM group (n = 28, treated with ZYD) and the ICWM group (n = 34, treated with prednisone plus ZYD). The clinical effect, negative converting rate of antisperm antibody, changes of NO level in semen and various parameters of sperm motion before and after treatment were observed.

RESULTSThe total effective rate in the ICWM group was 88.2%, that in the TCM group 75.0% and in the WM group 65.0%. Significant difference was seen in the ICWM and TCM group before and after treatment in NO level, sperm motion parameters, including linear motion speed, linearity, propulsion, whip frequency, sperm vitality and mean moving angle, and quality of semen (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). In the WM group, significant difference in comparison before and after treatment was seen in NO level, propulsion, whip frequency, mean moving angle and quality of semen, including vitality and survival rate (P < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONCombination of Chinese herbs and hormone could lower the NO level in semen and improve the quality of sperm.

Objective To investigate the etiological factors, clinical features and prognosis of non- traumatic rhabdomyolysis(RML). Methods The medical records of 13 non-traumatic RML patients hospital- ized between 1995-2006 were reviewed. The etiological, clinical, laboratory and therapeutic data were anal- ysed. Results Among 13 patients with non-traumatic RML, multiple factors were responsible for rhabdomyol- ysis in eight patients and single etiologic factor in 5 patients. Different etiological factors were identified, in- cluding 6 with excessive exercise, 3 with hyperpyrexia, 3 with drugs(including illicit drugs, fenofibrate, cy- closporine), 3 complicated with inflammatory myopathy and 2 with limbs compression. Nine patients had myal- gia and muscle weakness, 6 patients had abnormality in nervous system, 4 patients had hyperpyrexia, 3 pa- tients had digestive symptoms. Nine patients were complicated by coagulation disorders and 6 with acute renal failure(ARF). The serum levels of creatine kinase(CK)were decreased to normal within one month in 6 patients, the patient whose rhabdomyolysis was induced by fenofibrate with diabetes and chronic renal failure showed to inadequate decrease within 60 days. Three patients whose problem was induced by inflammatory myopathy, CK levels decreased within 4 months and 6 months in 2 patients, respectively, but CK level was not returned to normal level in one patient during the 80 follow-up days. Three patients died from multiple causes, such as ARF, coagulation disorders,electrolyte and metabolic disturbances. Conclusion Excessive exercise is the most common cause of non-traumatic RML, followed by drugs and inflammatory myopathy. The prognosis is poor in patients with multiple etiological factors and ARF.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ( ALS ) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease characterized by a selective loss of upper and lower motor neurons that lead to paralysis and even death. Mutations in a large number of genes, including FUS/TLS, EPHA4, SS18 L1, ATXN2 and C9ORF72, are identified to the casual genes of ALS, which broadens our understanding of the role of RNA modulation in ALS pathogenesis. This review summarized ALS-associated genes and the related ALS rodent models.
