Objective To investigate the situation and progress in technology of brain computer interfaces (BCI) by using the bibliometric approach. Methods Literature searching was done in China national knowledge infrastructure (CNKI) database using keyword brain computer interface.Subsequent results were analyzed by using softwares concerning the periodical distribution, subjects' distribution, foundations, authors, institutes, journal types and key words. Results Overall 425 publications from 160 journals were included. The amount of the relevant articles showed an increasing trend in 2002 to 2012.The research in BCI in China was supported by a large amount of funds. There were a lot of Chinese authors and institutions participating in BCI study, and they were widely distributed across the country. However, only 32.56% of all authors and 51.85% of all institutions published more than 1 article. Moreover, research on BCI mainly was focused on the biomedical engineering aspect. Conclusions Research on BCI developed rapidly in the past 12 years in China and will continue to develop in the following decades. In the future studies, the focus should shift to clinical research instead of biomedical engineering, and to make this technology a useful clinical practice is the first priority.

Objective To study the effects of nitrobenzene on macrophage function and lymphocyte proliferation in mice. Methods ICR mice were divided into groups and treated with nitrobenzene by gavage, once a day,at doses of 2,20 and 200 mg/kg respectively, for 21 consecutive days. The mice were killed after 21 days of treatment and then the effects of nitrobenzene on the organs index, the maerophage function and the lymphocyte proliferation were determined. Results The maerophage function and the lymphocyte proliferation decreased as the increase of the dose of nitrobenzene. Conclusion The results of the present paper show that nitrobenzene may inhibit the immunity function of mice.

Objective To discuss the surgical outcome of fenestration assistant by microscopy for single-level lumbar disc protrusion (LDH), compared with tradition laminotomy and discectomy. Methods From January 2008 to January 2010, forty-eight patients underwent traditional open discectomy and 40 underwent microscopy surgery. The lumbar disc protrusion involved L3- L4 level in 12 cases, L4-L5 level in 46 cases, and L5-S1 level in 30 cases; preoperative JOA score was 8-19 points (average 12.9 points) for traditional open discectomy patients and 7-19 points (average 12.7 points) for microscopy surgery patients. Results Cauda equina injury was occurred and repaired in 2 cases in traditional surgery group. The follow-up period was 10-34 months (average 18 months) for all patients. No complications such as wrong orientation, nerve root injury, and infection occurred. The JOA score 10 months after operation was (24.0 ± 2.6) for traditional surgery patients with 87.5% success rate and (24.2 ± 2.8) for microscopy surgery patients with 90% success rate. Conclusion Two methods have similar clinical outcomes, but microscopy assistant fenestration for LDH has advantages of minimal invasion, shorter operative time, shorter length of hospital stay and less intraoperative blood loss. It is one of ideal minimally invasive operations for single-level lumbar disc protrusion.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2008;28(3):283-285
The pertinent literature on application of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in hemopoietic stem cell transplantation was summarized, it indicated that the intervention of TCM could raise the mobilization effect, speed up the hemopoiesis and immunologic reconstruction after transplantation, decrease the incidence of complications, and prolong the life span of patients, showing a preliminary achievement.

8.Effect of genetic polymorphism on the activity of drug transporters and its clinical significance.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2008;33(8):765-769
Drug transport is an important source of inter-individual variations in drug responses and is also a common site where drug-drug interactions happen. In recent years, more and more novel identified transporters have been added into the transporter super family, and this trend will continue in the future. Among the transporter members of this family, ATP-dependent efflux transporter P-glycoprotein (MDR1) and organic anion transporters (OATP) are the most important proteins involved in drug transport. MDR1 is the most well known transporter. Widely distributed in tissues such as the gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidney and so on, MDR1 plays an important role in drug absorption, distribution and excretion. Its functional genetic polymorphisms have significantly changed the pharmacokinetics of its substrate drugs, which has important clinical implications. OATP expressed in multiple tissues, and it mediated the drug excretion through the bile acid and kidney. Some genetic polymorphism of OATP genes is the cause of some abnormal drug responses.

Objective:To establish the RPB5-mediating protein (RMP)-silenced stable cell lines and study the inhibitory effects of small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting RMP gene on the proliferation and migration of human hepatoma SMMC-7721 cells. Methods:Three RMPi siRNAs were designed and synthesized in vitro and transfected into SMMC-7721 cells. The inhibitory effect of siRNA on RMP gene expression was measured by RT-PCR to select the best siRNA. The expression vector pGPU6-Neo-RMP-484 was transfected into SMMC-7721 cells by the lipofectamine and the cells stably expressing the siRNA were selected by G418. RT-PCR was used to detect the interference efficacy against RMP gene. Cell proliferation and adhesion were measured by MTT assay. Wound healing test was used to observe the migration ability of cells. Results:The SMMC-7721 cell lines with down-regulated RMP expression were established by using RNA interference technology. Compared with the negative control cells, expression of RMP mRNA was down-regulated by(83.67±2.56)% .The proliferation of stable-transfected cells was inhibited by(74.33±0.58)% . The adhesion capability of stable-transfected cells was enhanced but the migration capacity was decreased compared with the negative control cells. Conclusion:The pGPU6-Neo-RMP-484 cell lines with stable transfection of RMP siRNA recombinant vector are successfully screened, which can be used as a cellular model for studying the molecular mechanism of RMP. Down-regulation of RMP gene expression can effectively inhibit the proliferation, enhance the adhesion, and decrease the migration of SMMC-7721 cells.

Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical and laboratory characteristics of pulmonary infection caused by Nocardia otitidiscaviarum. Methods The clinical data of a patient with pulmonary infection caused by Nocardia otitidiscaviarum were reported, and the clinical characteristics, laboratory characteristics and drug sensitivity of pulmonary infection caused by Nocardia otitidiscaviarum were summarized in combination with the relevant literature at home and abroad from January 2010 to December 2022. Results A 67-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital on June 30, 2020 because of "repeated chest tightness and shortness of breath for 3 years, aggravated cough, expectoration and fever". The sputum, alveolar lavage fluid and blood of the patient were collected for culture, and the detected pathogenic bacteria were identified. There are pathogenic bacteria growing in sputum and alveolar lavage fluid, which are identified as Nocardia otitidiscaviarum by Autof ms mass spectrometer. According to the results of pathogenic bacteria and the patient's condition, meropenem combined with compound sulfamethoxazole tablets were given anti-infection treatment, and the patient's condition improved and discharged. Conclusion The clinical manifestations and imaging features of nocardiosis are lack of specificity, and are prone to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Etiology is the key to disease diagnosis, and clinical examination and culture should be conducted in time.
