Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(11):-
Aim To investigate the effects of curcumin on expression of HIF-1? in human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells. Methods Different concentrations of 0,2.5,5,10,15 and 20 ?mol?L~(-1) curcumin-treated human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells were cultured under hypoxia for 6 hours. The cell proliferation and cell viability were assayed by WST-8 and the trypan blue dye exclusion method. The expression level of HIF-1? in human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells was checked by RT-PCR and Western Blot;0,10 ?mol?L~(-1) curcumin,10 ?mol?L~(-1) MG-132,and 10 ?mol?L~(-1) curcumin +10 ?mol? L~(-1) MG-132-treated human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells were cultured under hypoxia for 6 hours. The protein expression level of HIF-1? protein in human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells was checked by Western Blot. Results ① No significant difference was found in the cell proliferation rate and cell viability between control and different concentrations of curcumin.② Curcumin can down-regulate the expression of HIF-1? protein with the increasing concentrations.③ the effect of curcumin on expression of HIF-1?mRNA had no significant difference between control and different concentrations.④ MG-132 can reverse the curcumin-mediated decrease of HIF-1? protein. Conclusion Inhibitory effect of curcumin on expression of HIF-1? in human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells was acted through posttranscriptional mechanisms and the proteasome pathway.

Objective To develop a non-invasive method for diagnosis of esophageal varices in patients with cirrhosis induced by viral hepatitis. Methods The clinical data, including results of blood routine, liver function, blood coagulation and color ultrasonography,of patients with cirrhosis induced by viral hepatitis from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University during December 2011 and December 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.Patients with hematopoietic diseases and portal vein thrombosis were excluded, and no patients received beta-blocker,endoscope band ligation, and splenectomy treatment.According to gastroscopic results, all patients were divided into no/mild group and mid/serious group.Correlations between clinical data and esophageal varices were analyzed by Logistic regression method, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate their values for diagnosis of esophageal varices. Results Totally 96 patients were enrolled in the study,30 without or with mild esophageal varices, and 66 with mid/serious esophageal varices. There were significant differences on platelet (PLT),plateletcrit (PCT),platelet distribution width (PDW),alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),spleen thickness (ST) and PLT/ST between no/mild group and mid/ serious group (Z/t =-2.842,-3.151,-2.549,-3.463,-3.601,-4.360and 11.877,P<0.05 or P < 0.01).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that only ST was statistically different between two groups (OR =1.127,OR 95% confidence interval (CI):1.012-1.256,P =0.030).The area under the curve (AUC) was 0.728,and 95% CI:0.628-0.827.With the cut off value of 52.5 mm,the sensitivity, specificity, and Youden index of ST in diagnosis of esophageal varices were 53.0%,90.0% and 0.43,respectively.Conclusion ST measured by color ultrosonography can be used for early diagnosis of mid/serious esophageal varices.

Journal of Environment and Health 1992;0(04):-
In order to find out the more applicable way in detecting the acute toxicity of environmental pollutants, the author described the luminescent bacteria toxicity (LBT) test on the basis of literature review. In the article, the principle, the current usage both in our country and abroad, and the perspective of LBT are discussed. The results showed that LBT has many advantages such as relative sensitivity, quickness, convenience, and cheapness, while there are some disadvantages such as poor reappearance and existence of some errors in testing.Along with the rapid development of modern equipment and photo electronic techniques in analysis field. The application LBT combined with GC,GC/MS and fluorescence, ultraviolet equipment, will provide a more promising perspective in developing accurate quantitative analysis of the acute toxicity of environment pollutants

Chinese Critical Care Medicine 2017;29(2):181-183
The mechanism of long chain non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is diverse. LncRNA can regulate the expression of genes at multiple levels and is closely related to some pathological process, such as tumor formation, viral replication, inflammatory damage, etc. The abnormal expression of lncRNA is involved in the patho-physiological changes of the disease, and plays a key role in many links, such as the stability of mRNA, the regulation of translation level, protein transport, RNA processing and modification, and so on. The development of sepsis inflammatory injury is a complex process involving multiple genes and pathways, in which the abnormal structure and expression of many encoding genes or non-coding genes exist. This paper review the research progress on lncRNA in the regulation of chondriokinesis, pro-inflammatory cytokines, calcium ion transport, nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) in signal pathway and other inflammatory lesions, which may provide a new method for the diagnosis and treatment of sepsis.

Chinese Journal of Forensic Medicine 1987;0(03):-
The relationship of the nose tip position and the skull figures which were measured from the lateral craniographs in 49 ladies of 17~19 age living in Shenyang was studied. The figures measured on craniographs were analyzed by multiple stepwise regression analysis on IBM-PC/XT computer, and the regressoin equations for estimating the nose tip position of female in Shenyang were obtained. Cases in which the errors were within 2 mm were 71.43 to 77. 55 percent.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(4):910-913
Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the important component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, contributes to the integrity of the outer membrane, and protects the cell against bactericidal agents. LPS, also called endotoxin synonymously, is well known as a potent inducer of the innate immune system that often causes septic shock in the intensive cares. Chemically, the amphiphilic LPS is made up of three parts, i.e., hydrophobic lipid A, hydrophilic core oligosaccharide chain, and hydrophilic O-antigenic polysaccharide side chain. Specially, the lipid A is known to be responsible for a variety of biological effects during Gram-negative sepsis. LPS can elicit a strong response from innate immune system and result in local or systemic adverse reactions. LPS can trigger massive inflammatory responses and may result in immunopathology, for which the molecular basis is mediated by the signal path- way of LPS. In recent years, a tremendous progress has been made in determining the associated proteins and receptors in the LPS signaling that leads to the disease. This review gives a summary of recent progresses of research on LPS and LPS receptors.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(2):465-469
Currently, all the conventional antibiotics have developed corresponding drug-resistant pathogenic strains, which have increasingly become a serious threat to people's health. Development of completely new types of antibiotics is one of effective ways to solve the drug resistance issue. Antimicrobial peptides with broad-spectrum antibacterial and antimicrobial activity and wild variety become the ideal alternative to traditional antibiotics. Antimicrobial peptides are derived from wide range of sources, such as plants, animals, and microorganisms. Mechanism of function of the antimicrobial peptides and the investigation approaches of different antimicrobial peptides also vary dramatically. In this paper, we give an overview of preparation, antibacterial mechanisms, and research methodology of antimicrobial peptides.
