3.Effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the cholinergic neurons of hippocampus and praxiology of vascular dementia rats
Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2004;10(9):529-531
ObjectiveTo study the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the cholinergic neurons of hippocampus and praxiology of vascular dementia rats.MethodsThe vascular dementia models were made and divided into control and therapy group. After 30 days of HBO therapy, abilities of learning and memory of rats were tested by using the Morris water maze. Immunochemistry staining was used to observe the number of cholinergic neurons of CA1 subfield of hippocampus. ResultsAbilities of learning and memory of rats and the number of the neurons positive to ChAT like immunoreaction in the CA1 subfield of the hippocampus significantly increased in therapy group.ConclusionHyperbaric oxygen therapy is effective on the vascular dementia model rats.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(6):588-591
OBJECTIVEThis study aims to observe and compare the influences of the casting alloy post and cores on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
METHODSSix casting alloy post and sores were fabricated for the experimental groups, and zirconia post and core served as the control. The seven types of post and cores were of the same size and shape. Each post and core was orally fastened to a volunteer and then imaged with sequences of T1-weighted spin echo imaging (SE-T1WI), T2-weighted turbo spin-echo imaging (TSE-T2WI), and diffusion weighted imaging (DWI).
RESULTSCobalt chromium alloy post and core generated severe artifacts, whereas gold palladium alloy post and core generated no obvious artifacts, and no difference was observed between the zirconia and the gold palladium alloy post and cores (P > 0.05). The pure titanium alloy post and core produced mild artifacts. The post and cores of the titanium, nickel-cadmium, and gold platinum alloys generated moderate artifacts with no significant differences (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONDifferent metal post and cores have different influences on MRI. With the exception of that generated by cobalt chromium alloy, the artifact generated by the single-alloy post and core does not influence the image of the normal head and neck.

Chinese Journal of Emergency Medicine 2008;17(8):817-820
Objective To evaluate early and mid-term results in infants, weighing less than 2 500 g,who underwent early cardiac surgery on cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB).Method Since November 2003 to December 2007,28 consecutive infants of less than 2 500 g underwent early cardiac surgery on CPB in Children's Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University.Sixteen infants were male, and 12 infants were female. The mean pregnancy period was 34 weeks (30 to 41 weeks) ,and 14 patients were premature, and the mean birth weight was 2 010 g(1 370-2 500 g).Mean age at operation was 27.46 d (range 1~61 d),and mean weight was 2 391 g (range 1 500~2 500 g).Deep hypothermia circulatory arrest was used in 9.Indications for surgery were:ventricular septal defect (10 infants),transposition of great arteries (6 iofants),totally anomalous pulmonary venom return (5 infants),pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum(2 infants),coarctation of aorta (1 infants) ,interrupted aortic arch (1 infants),cortriatriatum(1 infants),abnormal original of fight pulmonary artery (1 infants).Resuits Two (7.14%) infants died after operation at early phase.Mean duration of mechanical ventilation and intensive care unit stay were 113.9 h and 14.4 d,respectively.During follow-up (mean 16.87 months),one died. Two patients needed reintervention.About 84.4% infants didn' t need reintervention at the end of 12-month followup. Conclusions If medicine is aseless, infants woth low birth weight and congenital heart defect can obtain satisfactory outcome after CPB.Perioperative proration for virtual organs should be payed attention to.

Objective To study the influence of prothrombin complex concentrates (PCC) containing different levels of antithrombin (AT) and heparin on its procoagulation and anticoagulation activities. Methods PCC containing traces of heparin and AT were prepared. The design of orthogonal experiment: set AT and heparin two variable factors, each factor respectively from three levels: 0, 0.4, 0.8 IU/mL; 0, 2.5, 5.0 IU/mL.Their influence on the procoagulation and anticoagulation activities of PCC were analysed. Results The R value of the influence of AT on thrombin inhibitory capacities was higher than that of heparin. With the increase of AT level, time to peak gradually extended.Lag time of 0.4 IU/mL and 0.8 IU/mL AT was the same. The peak height of 0.4 IU/mL AT was highest. The higher the level of AT, the greater the impact on thrombin inhibitory capacities.0.4 IU/mL and 0.8 IU/mL AT had similar impact on thrombin inhibitory capacities. The R values of the influence of heparin on thrombin generation were higher than that of AT.With the increase of heparin level, lag time and time to peak were longer while the peak height declined sharply.0 IU/mL and 2.5 IU/mL heparin had similar influence on thrombin generation. The higher the level of heparin, the greater influence on thrombin inhibitory capacities.2.5 IU/mL and 5.0 IU/mL heparin had similar influence on thrombin inhibitory capacities. Conclusion AT has greater influence on the anticoagulation activities of PCC than that of heparin, while heparin has greater influence on the procoagulation activities of PCC than that of AT.PCC containing medium levels of AT and heparin is relatively balanced between procoagulation and anticoagulation.

Journal of Practical Stomatology 2014;(4):460-463
Objective:To observe the influence of commonly used dental cast metal posts and cores on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)for head and neck. Methods:Six kinds of posts and cores made of metal alloy (Ni-Cr alloy,Co-Cr alloy, titanium alloy, pure titanium,Pd-Au alloy and Au-Pt alloy)were respectively fixed on the mucosa of left palate of a volunteer. The maxillofacial region of the subjects was scanned by routine head sequences SE-T1WI and TSE-T2WI respectively. Results:ANOVA of factorial design analy-sis indicated significant differences of artifacts among metal materials(F=153.63,P<0.05),scanning sequences(F=70.94,P<0.05)and the number of cast posts and cores(F=102.73,P<0.05).In both sequences the size of metal artifacts were as following:Pd -Au alloy>Co-Cr alloy>Ni-Cr alloy>Au-Pt alloy>titanium alloy>pure titanium;two posts and cores>one post and core;SE-T1WI>TSE-T2WI.Conclusion:Different cast metal posts and cores have different influences on MRI artifact.Reasonably choosing the metal materials and scanning sequences can minimize artifacts on MRI.

Chinese Journal of Hospital Administration 2014;30(8):567-569
Objective To investigate hospital staffs' appraisals on public hospitals reform. Methods 890 medical staffs were randomly investigated by questionnaire,to learn their comments on the implementation of reform measures,public-benefit nature and reform outcomes of the reform,as well as problems found with the government and improvement suggestions, and difficulties encountered in such a reform. Results The hospital staffs' appraisals on the reform tend to be low,as 36.4% of them hold that the reform is less effective in its outcomes or a mere formality (19.8%).The staff blamed the lack of system breakthrough (67.9%),lack of financial support (61.1%),and insufficient support from the doctors as stakeholders (49.1 %),for most of the problems of the reform. Conclusion It is suggested to win over support of the medical staff for the reform; to improve the laws and policies related to the reform; and to establish an effective supervision system for public hospitals.
