Objective:To study the related factors of landmarks identification repeatability in the computer monitoring. Methods:Totally 30 lateral cephalograms were selected at random, and the landmarks were identified by 2 orthodontists with the computer monitor twice. The data were obtained and the differences were analyzed. Results:There were differences in inter-operator and intra-operator in their coordination. The operators were similar to each other within a certain range. There were significant differences between the data of the abscissas and ordinate in some landmarks. Conclusion:The repeatability of identified landmarks is closely related to the location of the landmarks, the landmarks identification by human eyes and the quality of the X-rays.

objective: To study the effects of BMP on the growth of osteosarcoma cells. Methods: Human antisense BMP2 retrovirus expression vector was constructed and transfected into human osteosarcoma OS 9901 cells by Lipofect AMINE. Positive cell clones were selected with G 418. The expression of BMP and PCNA were determined by immunohistochemical methods, image analysis and expressed as grey level. The morphology and cell cycle distribution of the cells were studied by electronmicroscope and flowcytometry respectively. Results:The grey levels of BMP and PCNA in the transfected cells were 198.4?8.51 and 197.3?3.22, those of the control were 135.1?12.32 and 142.9?8.47,respectively. G 1, G 2 and S phase cells were 51.9%,18.2% and 22.7% in the cell cycle of transfected cells, while those of the control were 52.8%,11.1% and 36.1%, respectively.Increased lysosome and small pieces of chromatin were observed in the transfected cells under electronmicroscope. Conclusion:Transfection of antisense BMP2 may inhibite the expression of BMP and proliferating activity of osteosarcoma cells.

Objective To elucidate the MRI appearance of prostatic abscess,the DWI and enhanced MRI features.Methods 12 cases of prostatic abscesses were retrospectively analyzed,the clinical symptom mainly manifested as lower urinary tract symptoms and fever.All of the patients were given routine MR examination including DWI sequence,6 patients received further enhanced MR examination.Results In the 12 cases,there were 4 cases behaved as single type,8 cases as multifocal type.The abscess showed iso-or slightly hypo-signal intensity on T1 WI,hyper-signal intensity on T2 WI,markedly high signal intensity on DWI and correspond-ing markedly low signal intensity on ADC.Complete abscess walls showed iso-or slightly hyper signal on T1 WI,hypo-signal inten-sity on T2 WI.The mature abscess walls were thin and smooth,which showed homogeneously ring enhanced in 4 cases.The imma-ture abscess walls showed uneven thickness and moderately enhanced in 2 cases.Septum in the abscess could be found in 4 cases, which showed similar enhancement to the abscess walls,while the abscess cavity showed non-enhanced.Abscesses involved the sur-rounding structures in 2 cases,the involved area showed obvious hyper-signal on T2 WI fat-suppression sequence.Conclusion DWI is the best sequence in the diagnosis of prostatic abscess,the markedly high signal intensity on DWI is the characteristic sign.The enhanced MRI showed the walls and septa clearly,the extent and involvement of adjacent structures.The multi-parametric MRI is a prominent procedure in the diagnosis of prostatic abcess.

Objective To explore the usage of anatomic al M-mode echocardiography in observing pulmonary artery motion curve of pulmonary hypertension patients.Methods The subjects included 21 pulmonary hypertension patients complicated with tricuspid valve insufficiency, and 21 controls whose age and gender matched with the patient group. The inner diameter of main pulmonary artery and right atrium, acceleration time of pulmonary valve Doppler signal and maximum velocity of tricuspid insufficiency (ACTpv) were measured during routine echo examination. From the maximum velocity of tricuspid insufficiency the pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) was calculated. The pulmonary artery motion curve and pulsating amplitude of pulmonary artery wall (PAWPA) was observed and measured with a home-made anatomical M-mode echocardiography with instrument. To study the diagnosis of pulmonary stenosis (PS) in patients with the secundum atrial septal defects(ASD) by the measurement of maximal velocity through pulmonary valve (Vpv max ). There were 98 cases with secundum ASD, and 27 cases with secundum ASD and PS diagnosed by echocardiography(TTE). All the cases with secundum ASD were confirmed by surgery. The diagnosis of 19 cases out of 27 cases as diagnosed by TTE were confirmed by surgery, and the other 8 cases were simple secundum ASD. These results suggested that the two dimensional echocardiography and Vpv max should be utilized in order to achieve a better diagnostic accuracy in the diagnosis of PS in the patients with ASD, and PS should be considered if the Vpv max increased to 2 65 to 3 25m/s.

AIM: To study the effects of resveratrol on the proliferation of human retinal vascular endothelial cells induced by cobalt chloride-simulated hypoxia in vitro.METHODS: CoCl2 (100μmol/L) was used to simulate hypoxic condition, and human retinal vascular endothelial cells were cultured in vitro as model. The cell proliferation was determined by MTT method; SABC method was employed to test the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF); and computer image analyzer was used to process data. The effects of resveratrol on the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells were observed.RESULTS: Resveratrol inhibited the proliferation of human retinal vascular endothelial cells induced by CoCl2 in a dose- and time-dependent manner in vitro, meanwhile VEGF expression in all groups which were administered medicine was down-regulated. Both kinds of inhibitive effects of resveratrol were statistically significant (P<0.01).CONCLUSION: Resveratrol can significantly inhibit the proliferation of human retinal vascular endothelial cells and the expression of VEGF, which may provide a new approach for prevention and treatment of retinal neovascular diseases.

This study was aimed to compare clinical effect and safety of ring mixed hemorrhoids treatment with pro-cedure for prolapsed and hemorrhoids (PPH) and Milligan-Morgan (M-M) in order to evaluate their effects of health economics. Retrospective analysis was given on clinical data of 100 cases (including 48 cases in P group, 52 cases in M group) which met the inclusion criteria from June 2008 to June 2010 in the Affiliated Hospital of Luzhou Med-ical College. Statistical analysis was made on short- and long-term effect, patient satisfaction, perioperative and postoperative complications of two groups. The cost-effectiveness was analyzed with the effect of health economics methods. The results showed that there was no obvious difference on short-term effect between two groups. However, aspects such as surgery time, hospitalization time, back to work time, duration of pain, bleeding condition, postopera-tive pain and anal swelling in P group were significantly better than M group (P< 0.05); long-term effect and cost-effectiveness in M group were obviously better than P group (P < 0.05). There was no obvious difference on inci-dence rate of adverse reaction between two groups. It was concluded that the traditional external dissection and inter-nal ligation for circumferential mixed hemorrhoids had better clinical effect of both short- and long-term with better cost-effectiveness. It is still a better surgical treatment for circular mixed hemorrhoids.
