1.Pulmonary sequestration: a literature review of 2625 cases
Chinese Journal of General Practitioners 2010;09(10):714-715
Total 2625 cases of pulmonary sequestration were collected from literatures of Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure from 1998 to 2008. The age, gender, clinical symptoms, chest CT scan, chest X-ray findings, lesion location, supplying artery, venous reflux, and preoperative misdiagnosis of 2625 cases were retrospectively reviewed. The male: female ratio of all cases was 1.58: 1. The main clinical symptoms of pulmonary sequestration were cough, sputum, fever, hemoptysis and chest pain, but 13.36% patients were asymptomatic. Chest CT scan showed pulmonary massive lesions (49.00%), pulmonary cystic lesions (28.57%), pulmonary cystic-solid lesions ( 11.57% ), and flaky shadows (7.96%). Pulmonary sequestration mainly located in the lower lobe; 66. 43% located in the left posterior basal segments, and 20. 16% located in the right posterior basal segments. Pulmonary sequestrations were divided into three types, intralobar sequestration (83. 84% ), extralobar sequestration ( 16.03% ), and mixed sequestration (0.13% ). The arterial supply was mainly from branches of thoracic aorta (76. 55% ) and abdominal aorta (18.47%). The clinical manifestations of pulmonary sequestration were various, so the preoperative misdiagnosis rate was as high as (59 ± 20) %. We should take full advantage of clinical symptoms, imaging findings and location characteristics to improve the preoperative diagnosis rate.

4.Mast cells and tumor angiogenesis
Journal of International Oncology 2013;40(7):483-485
Mast cells (MCs) are bone marrow-derived and tissue-homing immune cells which have important functions.Recruitment and activation in tumors are demonstrated to be mainly mediated by tumorderived stem cell factor (SCF) and its receptor c-kit on MCs.The numbers and distributions of MCs in tumors are closely related to the growth of tumors and angiogenesis.MCs can mediate angiogenesis by releasing a series of angiogenesis factors,so as to promote the progress of tumors.

Objective To investigate the physical and mechanical properties of home-made bone cement mixed with different antibiotics. Methods The specimens of bone cement each of 40g were divid-ed in to6groups depending on mixed antibiotics, groupⅠmixed with1g gentamicin,groupⅡwith2g gen tam icin,groupⅢwith1g cephradine,groupⅣwith1.5g cefuroxine,groupⅤwith1g ceftriaxone and groupⅥwith out any antibiotics served as control. The dough time, compressing depth, compressive strength, bending strength and bending elastic modulus were measured respectively, elution examination of antibiotics from bone ce ment was performed by chromatography. Results The dough time and compress-ing depth of the groups were better than that of ISO5833standard,and there was no significant difference a-mong the groups. The com pressive strength and bending strength of the groupⅡwere lower than that ISO5833standard,but there was no significant difference among the groups by analysis of variance. The bending elastic modulus of the groupⅡwas lower than the control group and other groups(P
7.Protective effect of cytoglobin under hypoxia:An update

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2015;(9):978-983
As the fourth member of the globin family, cytoglobin ( CYGB) is a hypoxia-induced gene, and its expression is upregulated under hypoxia.CYGB is widely distributed in the living body and has a variety of physiological functions, such as anti-oxi-dative stress, anti-fibrosis, and neuroprotection. It also plays a protective role in cardiovascular disease, cancer, and other hypoxia-re-lated diseases. This article presents an overview on the structure and distribution of CYGB, its physiological functions of anti-fibrosis, anti-cancer and muscle regeneration, and the regulation and the mechanism of its expression under hypoxia.
8.Self-management and quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in community
Chinese Journal of Health Management 2015;9(5):340-344
Objective To evaluate the impacts of self-management on quality of life of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in community. Method A total of 130 patients with COPD from selected 3 neighbourhood residential committees in Longhua community were randomized into intervention group (65 cases) and control group (65 cases). The control group was treated with conventional health education, the intervention group was treated with self-management education program. Both groups were evaluated by the Chinese version of the chronic disease self-management study measures and SF-36 profile before and after the 6 months intervention. Result After 6 months, the scores of the chronic disease self-management study in the control group were holistic health (3.52 ± 0.64), symptom (18.86 ± 3.06), shortness of breath (3.92 ± 1.74), somatic function (8.15 ± 0.51) and impact on life (22.21 ± 7.14), while the scores in the intervention group were holistic health (2.43±0.43), symptom (15.68±3.66), shortness of breath (2.06 ± 1.30), somatic function (5.73 ± 1.08) and impact on life (16.43 ± 5.17) , and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01). Compared with the control group, the dimensions and total score of quality of life of the intervention group were (52.41±7.90 vs. 71.63±8.11, P<0.01). Conclusion The effective self-management could improve symptoms, the ability of self-management and their quality of life.

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effects of titanium clips occlusion for the defects and complications caused by endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR).Methods Totally 62 patients with protuberant lesions in the esophagus or gastrointestinal tract(≤15 mm in diameter) were treated by EMR in our hospital.During the operation,69 lesions were cut and the surgical defects were clipped using titanium clips. The intra-and post-operative complications of the patients were reviewed.Six weeks after the treatment, the patients received re-examination by endoscopy to observe the healing of the mucosal defects. Results The 69 lesions in the 62 cases were resected completely. At each defect,1-3 titanium clips were used,no perforation or hemorrhage occurred in the patients.Endoscopy performed in 6 weeks showed that all the defects were healed without ulcer, stenosis or recurrence. The titanium clips dropped 65 of the defected mucosa. Conclusion Titanium clips is effective and safe for defects caused by endoscopic mucosal resection.
