Objective To investigate the effect of cardiac resynchronization therapy on improving heart function and reversing left ventricular remodeling in chronic heart failure patients. Methods Eleven patients with NYHA class Ⅲ to Ⅳ heart failure, ejection fraction ≤35% and QRS duration ≥130 ms were implanted synchronous biventricular pacemaker. Serial assessment was performed before and up to 1-36 months after pacing. Results There were significant improvement of LVEF、 LVFS; and decrease in MR、 LVED and QRS duration. The NYHA class of heart function was improved from Ⅲ-Ⅳ to Ⅰ-Ⅱ. Six-minute hall walk distances were also improved. Conclusion For patients with NYHA class Ⅲ to Ⅳ heart failure and ventricular conduction delay, cardiac resynchronization therapy could reverse left ventricular remodeling and improve heart function.

Selenium, a metalloid mineral micronutrient,is an essential component for the adequate and healthy life of human, animals, and some other microorganisms.Selenium has antioxidative and oxidative effects on living organisms.Selenium deficiency has been associated with impaired function of the immune system.Selenium deficiency appears to enhance the virulence or progression of some viral infections.Selenium deficiency results in decreased activity of glutathione peroxidase, increasing oxidative damage and the likelihood of mutations in the viral genome. The safe range of selenium intake is relatively small and excess selenium intake can readily result in toxicity. This review summarizes the updates of benefitial and adverse effects of selenium on health.

Objective To analyze the serum nucleosome and antinucleosome antibody (AnuA) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and their role in the pathogenesis of disease. Methods Sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique was used to detect the level of nucleosome in serum of 33 SLE patients, 31 other rheumatic diseases (including primary Sj?觟gren′s syndrome, ploymyositis, dermatomyositis and systemic sclerosis) and 30 healthy controls. Results The level of sera nucleosome of SLE was much lower than that of patients with other rheumatic diseases and healthy controls (P

To observe Antiarrhythmic effects of L-dicentrine.Methods using experimented model of arrhythmials. Results: L-dicentrine iv l0 mg/kg could convert BacRinduccd arrhythmia into sinus rhythm in rats, and could significantly increase the tolerant dose of aconine to produce Ventricular fibrillation (VF) and Cardiac [rrest (ca) in rats. The drug could also decrease the incidence of VF and CP by cardiac rats and by chloroform in mice. L-dicelltrine had protective effects on ouabain ind uced Arrhythmias in guined pigs and on adrenalice induced arrhythmias in rabbit s . The drug might also inhibit the arrhymias induced by stimulation ofhypothaplu s. Conclusion: L-dicenirine have significant antiarrhythmic properties.

Objectives To evaluate the effect of N-Acetylcysteine on the airway inflammation and remodeling of obese asthma mice with high-fat diets. Methods Forty female C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 4 groups, asthma group (A), obese asthma group (B), treatment group (C) and normal control group (D). Group A were sensitized and challenged by ovalbum (OVA) and normal diets. Group B were sensitized and challenged as group A but fed with high-fat diets, while group C were sensitized, challenged and fed as group B, but administrated N-Acetylcysteine 200 mg/kg. d from the third week after challenge. The cells in BALF were counted and classified after staining, IL-6 and 8-iso-PGF2α(8-iso-PGF2α) in lung tissues were detected by ELISA. WAt, WAm, Pbm, as the remodeling indices, measured in lung pathological section. All parameters were compared among 4 groups. Results In comparison with group D, the leukocytes and EOS in BALF, WAt/Pbm, WAm/Pbm in lung section were increased as well as IL-6 and 8-iso-PGF2α in lung tissue elevated in group A and group B, while the maximum changes were observed in group B (P <0. 05). After NAC treatment, the IL-6, 8-iso-PGF2α and WAt/ Pbm were decreased significantly (P <0. 05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that WAt/Pbm and IL-6 were in positive correlation with 8-iso-PGF2α (r =0. 817, 0. 737, P <0. 01). Conclusions N-Acetylcysteine can alleviate the airway inflammation and remodel reaction of asthma by a substantial inhibition of the oxidative stress reaction in lung.

A 53-year-old man presented with prunosus nodules and plaques on the trunk and extremities for half a month and with periorbital swelling for 4 days.Hematological examination in a local hospital showed thrombocytopenia, and pulsed corticosteroid therapy did not work.On physical examination, there were splenomegaly and multiple enlarged superficial lymphnodes.Serum calcium and 1-lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)were increased to 3.12 mmol/L and 853 U/L,respectively.Serum immunofixation electrophoresis evidenced the presence of a monoclonal immunoglobulin IgM (κ chain).Positron emission tomography (PET-CT) showed abnormal uptake in multiple lymph nodes, back wall of the pharynx, and spleen. The biopsy of a nodule in the neck revealed a diffuse infiltration of numerous atypical lymphoid cells in the subcutaneous fat tissue, which were medium-sized with round nuclei, obvious nucleoli and karyokinesis, Immunophenotyping of the abnormal lymphocytes indicated positive reactions for L26,CD79a,Bcl-2,cyclin D1,multiple myeloma oncogene 1 (partly),Ki-67 (>80%),but negative for CD5,CD21,CD23,CD38,CD3,CD10,Bcl-6,CD45RO,terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT),myeloperoxidase (MPO),CD30,anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK),CD117,or CD34.Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) revealed the presence of a fusion gene (t(11:14) CCND1/IGH) in the abnormal lymphocytes.Based on the above findings, the diagnosis was made as blastoid mantle cell lymphoma with skin and periorbital involvement complicated by hypercalcemia. After treatment with rituximab injection, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, doxorubicin, dexamethasone, and intermittent treatment with intravenous high dose of methotrexate and cytarabine (R-Hyper-CVAD),serum calcium returned to a normal level three days later, and the patient made a quick and excellent recovery on the 6th day, with the regression of skin lesions and poriorbital swelling.Unfortunately, the patient eventually died of severe pulmonary infection one month later.

People departure from the treatment, prevention and health care purposes, intermittently or continuously excessive use of drugs with dependence, will cause serious mental and physical damage, while serious social harm.Opioids are the most commonly abused drug, abusers by taking an excess number of pills orally or by crushing the pills, followed by smoking, snorting, or injecting the new altered formulation to get euphoric. The escalating abuse of opioids has recently spawned the development of novel drug formulations resistant to various methods of tampering and misuse. This article discusses available opioids that include abuse-deterrent mechanisms as well as such agents currently in development.
